Israel Trips FROM Israel to Egypt or Jordan
Posted: Sat November 7, 2009 06:43 AM UTC
My Sabra husband and I will be spending almost a month with family in Jerusalem December/Jan. We would like to take a week or so to visit elsewhere.

Which would be a more interesting, safe, practical, and possibly cheaper destination: Jordan (Amman, Petra, Aqaba....) or Egypt (Cairom Luxor, Alexandria???)

The American tour companies seem to have VERY expensive trips. Do you have any suggestions for budget tour operators? Would you recommend that we try to travel independently, perhaps hiring drivers or taking day trips?

TODA for your help!!!

Jerusalem Itinerary suggestions
Posted: Fri October 30, 2009 08:46 PM UTC
Hi all,
I live in Canada, currently working in Irak rotating 28/28. I want to visit Jordan and Israel the last week of January in my way to home. My flight has a stop in Amman, that is the reason I must start my visit in Amman and come back here to take my flight to home. I dont know if i should go to Israel first via King Hussein bridge and come back to Jordan through same bridge or going to Elat and re-entry to Jordan through south and visit Aqaba and Petra.
Should i re-entry to Jordan through same gate i out?
Can i get a Israel visa at the border (i carry a Ecuadorian passport)?
Should i ask a multiple visa in Jordan?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Israel Half day trip from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem
Posted: Wed October 28, 2009 07:27 AM UTC
Hi,

I will stay a few days in Tel Aviv, and would like to make a half day visit to Jerusalem.
What is the inexpensive way to do it? If by taxi, how much it costs? Or by sherut? If by bus - how do I go from Tel Aviv center to Jerusalem old city, and how much time it takes?

Israel Ethiopian cuisine
Posted: Wed October 28, 2009 01:29 AM UTC
I have an idea that Ethiopian Jews must have brought an interesting cuisine with them from Africa.
Can anybody cast any light on this and where I might find it? Be'er Sheva seems like a likely place to start.

Israel Dead Sea on a Saturday
Posted: Sat October 24, 2009 11:36 AM UTC
Looking for a way around the Shabbat restrictions on transport, I'm thinking of going from Jerusalem or Bethlehem to Qumran for a few hours and then continuing to Ein Gedi for an overnight stay.
Please critique the feasibility of this and/or suggest ways and means.

Eilat Travel from Sharm El Sheikh to Eilat
Posted: Wed October 21, 2009 12:18 AM UTC
Hi all,

I am planning a trip at the end of November and am trying to organize how to travel from Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt to Eilat. Could you please let me know what are our options for travel (flights, bus, taxi) are? How long would it take and what would be the approximate cost?

Also, we are then planning to spend 1 night in Eilat and then travel to Tel Aviv. What would be our options for travel with this route?

I would appreciate any suggestions that you can provide.

Thanks,
Kate

Israel What to buy when in Israel?
Posted: Wed October 14, 2009 09:52 PM UTC
29 days away from my wonderful trip to Israel, and I've started making my list of gifts to buy while I'm there. I've already decided to buy rosary beads for my two nieces (who are Catholic), and my best girlfriends will probably get some Dead Sea bath products. What else should I be looking for while I shop there? All input is appreciated - I'm too excited to think!

The hotel should be in a walking distance to the OLD City. I really don't like B&B, prefer modern hotel but not overpriced. Please help me to find a good value hotel. What about Jerusalem Inn, Is it any good? Than you all

Israel still no where to stay!!!!!!
Posted: Fri September 4, 2009 05:37 PM UTC
Hi all

thanks for the replies however i still can not bring myself to book anything every thing looks kinda grim! and the reviews are not helping it seems as if i want to be gauranteed clean sheets and just a clean hygienic hotel i have to spend 4000-5000 dollars how barmy is that!!!!!! i have seen sites that have some flats with kitchens for around $350-1000 a week and the pictures look really nice (1 BED APARTMENT LOOKS REALLY CLEAN AND TIDY WITH WIFI $350 PER WEEK!!!!! i just need 1100 sq ft of living space that is clean can this be done for this price or is it just a marketing tactic? does any body know if the apartments and hotels are clean that are priced $120 a night what i mean by clean is daily change overs and interior less than 24 months old ...i may sound fussy but i just think the standard good for that price a night and any thing over 150 per night should be excellent i am sooooo frustrated

reading this post i doubt anybody can give me the answers i require lol just lie to me lol
