I am in my late 70's, I play golf 3X a week and am in reasonably good shape but am otherwise sedentary. I will be in Israel in May and I would like to take a few days to visit Petra and/or Cairo and the pyramids. Can anyone offer me guidance on how costly, strenuous or physically taxing either of these trips would be? Also, since the trips would originate and terminate in Israel, I would appreciate suggestions on Israeli tour agencies, preferably in Jerusalem.

I need information on the visa requirements (Indian Passport holder)to enter Jerusalem through Jordan. Tried contacting the Israeli embassy in Jordan with no response to my emails. Can anyone recommend a reliable travel agent in Israel who can assist on visas?

I will be flying in from Bahrain to Jordan and then by road into Jerusalem.

My wife and I are going to Rishon Lezion for treatment at Assuta Medical cener (former American Medical Center ?) Does someone know of any apartment for rent which is near the center, preferably walking distance of less than 1 km. We will be staying for a month or more. Thanks!

What is dress code? Can i wear jeans? or should wear some formal clothes?

14th October afternoon arrive in Tel Viv then take some transportation (cheap if possible) to Jerusalem.

18th: Visit Bethlehem (one day trip back to Jerusalen same day)
19th: Visit Nazareth and Lake Tiberias (one day trip back to Jerusalen same day)
20th: Visit Dead Sea (one day trip back to Jerusalen same day)
21th: Free - sugestions are welcome
22th: free sugestions are welcome
23th: free sugestions are welcome
24th October : afternoon flying to Europe

What´s good idea? visit Aman or spend more days in Israel?

Hi to everybody. My wife and i will be visiting tel aviv this coming november 2008 for a medical treatment at assuta hospital. I would like to know the apartments available near the area of assuta hospital. as much as possible, it will be nice if it's walking distance from the hospital, can offer a longer stay of about 30 to 60 days, and of course the rent is cheaper.

I am planning to visit the Holy Land next year with a friend. We plan to go for 10-14 days and are looking at two tour companies...

Has anyone traveled with LeSea Tours and/or Classic Pilgrimages (thru Gate 1 Travel)? What were your impressions? What did you like/dislike about the tour? Or, have you used another tour company that you loved?

Any advice/input is greatly appreciated!

I also meant to ask whether there are other ways to get to the airport on Saturday evening. Is there a safe bus or train?

Trying to figure out the best way to get from Sde Dov to/from Ben Gurion airports. How far apart are they?? I am trying to finish my stay in Eilat then fly back to Tel Aviv for a flight back to New York. Sde Dov has more flights to Eilat but I want to make sure the timing works.

I would very much like to visit the Dead Sea as I have a skin related problem but don't want to spend too much money on a Spa hotel. Can anyone suggest any hotels near good beaches or where I can visit to receive good treatments. I am also interested in Visting Jordan or Isreal.

I´ll be in Israel in july with my 10 years old son and he wants to go to the Dead Sea
I know it will be too hot but I´ve read about Kalia and Ein Feshka beach only 30 minutes drive from Jerusalem
The questions are:
1- Do you know how much can it cost a round trip by taxi from Jerusalem?
2- If we go by bus, we will dropp off in the road and how far we will have to walk to the beach?
3- Is there any public or private place in the northern part of the Dead Sea to go for a swim an a mud bath? Got the websites?

How to get from Tel Aviv to Eilat [to pick up trip for Petra] - is it safe to drive, or would we be better taking the train [railway site didn't show station for Eilat!] may be an internal flight

Is it safe to drive to Eilat - what are the road conditions like

Also can we do Bethlehem and Jericho - again is it safe. When we were out 30 years + we couldn't get into Jericho. We're not exactly spring chickens!

Can someone please take this travelling bug out of us?? Any help much appreciated
