Transportation in Israel ? Posted: Wed July 1, 2009 11:19 AM UTC
Hi,
I'm going to Israel next month.
Can someone give me details about transportation from:
Ben Gurion Airport to Tel Aviv?
Tel Aviv to Eilat? Tel Aviv to Jerusalem? Tel Aviv to Haifa?
What will be better? Flight? Train? Bus? Taxi?

Tel Aviv on the Sabbath Posted: Fri June 26, 2009 09:18 PM UTC
We're going to be in Tel Aviv on a Friday until Saturday. Will everything in the city be closed? Does public transportation close down? Will I be able to find restaurants and shops that are open. We will be staying at the Dan Panorama Hotel. I would like to be able to pick up some gifts while I'm there. I don't want to spend the time in my hotel.
Thanks

Sabbath in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv Posted: Fri June 26, 2009 03:39 PM UTC
We will be in both cities on a Friday till Saturday. Are there restaurants and stores open on these days? Are there places in these cities where we can still go shopping for gifts? What other attractions will be open? We just don't want to waste the days sitting in our hotel. Will buses still run or will we have to take taxis? Are taxis expensive?
Thank you,

Best time to visit Israel Posted: Thu June 25, 2009 07:06 PM UTC
My husband and I are looking at a tour to Israel in late November to early December. How is the weather in Israel at that time of the year? Does it rain a lot or can it snow? Does it get really cold? Would it be better if we put off the trip till the spring when it will be warmer?
Thanks

Group Trips to Israel Posted: Wed June 24, 2009 06:29 PM UTC
Hey,
The Hebrew school that I teach at is looking to take a trip to the Holy Land and we are looking for a travel agency that specializes in group fares. I live in Florida so its needless to say that there are a lot of travel agencies in my area that have experience sending older Floridians to Israel but I am looking for a tour that would be entertaining to 14-15 year old post confirmation students. If anybody knows of a good travel agency that has cheap group rates and can cater a trip to a younger clientele please tell me.

Transport to Caesarea and Tiberias Posted: Wed June 24, 2009 02:21 AM UTC
I have two male friends who will be travelling in Israel in the first week in October. I have been able to find details of public transport from Tel Aviv to both Tiberias and Caesarea, but would be grateful for any advice that anyone can give about the safest and most efficient ways of getting to both of these places from Tel Aviv.
Also need to know the best ways, using public transport, to get to Jerusalem from either Tiberias or Caesarea.
Many thanks for your help.

Some questions! Posted: Tue June 23, 2009 10:43 AM UTC
Hi there!
Going to Israel my 4th time starting August 11 and staying to the 27 th of Oktober.
I have some questions. I'm staying in Jerusalem and I know the city fairly well.
But, my first question. Is there any cinemas where I can watch contemperary movies with english subtitles in Jerusalem?
My second question. The settlements on the Westband (Judea and Samaria) is discused in swedish media every day. I would like to see them for myself. Are there any bus tours or similar arranged by the settlement movement that I could take?
Third. I would like to visit a synagogue while in Jerusalem. I know there are hundreds of them, but as my knowledge of judaism is poor I could need someone that translates for me and explain things. Do you have any suggestions?
Best Regards
Gustav

Fun things to do for a geeky American teenager Posted: Mon June 15, 2009 10:44 PM UTC
I'll be in Israel for the next two weeks and there are basically two days to just chill and have fun outside the tour. I'm a geeky American 17yr old, (I'll be 18 the second week I'm there). Are there any cool places or stores I'd be interested in? I'm leaving tomorrow, so any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Which area to stay in in Jerusalem / guest house suggestions . . . Posted: Sat June 6, 2009 09:28 PM UTC
I am trying to decide which area of Jerusalem to stay in for 5 nights in August. The old city appeals because that is where I plan to do the majority of walking around, but I am worried about there not being much to do at night.
Any recommendations of an area to stay in and a budget but safe and clean hostel?
Thank you!

Driving to Dead Sea/Masada Posted: Sat June 6, 2009 04:29 AM UTC
I want to rent a car in Jerusalem and drive to the Dead Sea (Kalia Beach and Ein Gedi) and then down to Masada and back to Jerusalem. I wanted to know if I would be allowed to take a rental car to these places, is it safe to go there, is it clearly marked where to go, and what are the distances and times between the places.
Thanks for your help.

Petra to Jerusalem on a Friday: Best route? Posted: Sun May 31, 2009 11:44 PM UTC
Is the Eilat border open, or do I need to go to Amman?
I am not very worried about the passport stamp as Israel is the last stop on my trip in the region.
If anyone can give me the current specifics of the best route, I'd appreciate it very much. Thank you!

Traveling with Kids Posted: Sun May 24, 2009 12:17 PM UTC
I am a Mom traveling with a 5 & 10 year old June 7-14 (ON A BUDGET) to Tel Aviv, but want to rent a car and drive to En Gedi Kibbutz for 3 days and use it as a base for the Dead Sea, Masada and Jerusalem. Here are my questions:
1. Is it worth it, or is it better to stay in Tel Aviv and take the tours (Egged Tours) that start from and return to Tel Aviv?
2. Is it safe to rent a car and drive from Tel Aviv to En Gedi, and then between En Gedi, Masada and Jerusalem?
3. Is it better to stay at En Gedi or in Jerusalem?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!
