This is our first time going to Beaches, Turks and Caicos and we will be traveling in January 2010, with 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 7 & 11).
I would like to know what the best family type restaurants are at the resort and what the best family excursions would be for us when we go.
Also, does anyone know which restaurants require us to dress up?
Looking for answers....thanx!

Beaches resort question Posted: Sat September 12, 2009 07:43 PM UTC
Myself and 2 girlfriends (all in our 40s) are contemplating visiting Beaches Resort at Turks and Caicos in Feb 2010. We are a little worried about being surrounded by kids on what we hope would be a relaxing holiday (we love the looks of the beach). Anyone been to the resort in February who has a sense of how busy it is with kids and if it adults without kids can enjoy themselves? Thanks!

Girls Getaway Posted: Tue May 12, 2009 04:50 AM UTC
I heard Turks & Caicos was beautiful and a ton of fun. I wanted to book a trip for my friends to have a girl's getaway, but I wanted to book our activities with girl related interests. Does anyone know about or have used a travel agency that specializes in travel for women and activities for girls?

best snorkelling Posted: Mon March 2, 2009 03:32 PM UTC
I am travelling to Grand Turk in April 2009, and could someone tell me where is the absolute BEST snorkelling now, since Hurricane Ike. We are just beginners, not too advanced, and want to see some colourful fish, corals, etc, not too crazy about stingrays. Thank you, Elizabeth

Can I accomplish my three Goals in Grand Turk? Posted: Wed July 9, 2008 11:05 PM UTC
I am going to be in Grand Turk for one afternoon in November (1200 to 1800). I have three goals - which are - in priority order.
1) See and photograph the lighhouse
2) Dive or snorkel
3) Visit the town
I am not a very mobile person. I can walk a little distance, but not on uneven or soft surfaces. I have no problem swimming and am a certified diver, but I haven't been diving in some time.
The ship (Holland American Statendam) had no tours listed for this port.
I have heard that there is a hop-on-hop-off bus. Does anyone know if it is a jitney bus type thing with open sides, or a regular bus? Could I take it out to the lighthouse and then back to town? Is it worth it?
Is there any way I could fit in a short snorkel somewhere in there, keeping in mind that I'd need to change back into clothing afterwards, and that in November, it gets dark early. Also I'm not a real high energy person.

Transportation and other questions Posted: Mon June 2, 2008 10:44 PM UTC
Hi,
I will be visiting Club Med in a few weeks as a single woman.
How much should a taxi be from airport to club?
Do I really need to pack bug spray?
Is there a coffee maker in the room?
Is there a need to "dress up" in the evening?
do I need cash for anything? Leave the island? or other?
Thank you

Adding to our vacation at Beaches Posted: Sun February 10, 2008 08:01 PM UTC
We'll be having a family reunion at the Beaches/Sandals resort in Turks and Caicos for five days this summer. We are looking for some place to go in the Island for another 3-4 days after this. I think we'll be tired of the all inclusive/kids atmosphere and would like some place to get a better flavor of Island life there. Any suggestions would be most welcome

Where to Stay in Salt Cay? Posted: Thu January 17, 2008 02:40 AM UTC
Hi - I'm planning a week in Salt Cay in October for 3 couples; we'd love to rent a villa (must have 3 bedrooms) or other place where we can cook some of our own meals and snorkel from the beach. Also would like a deck to hang out, have cocktails & watch the stars. One of our party has MS and can't walk far. Sounds like a GREAT place but sure would appreciate some advice about the lodging thing. I was pretty much sold on Sunset Reef Villa until I read a couple of terrible reviews on traveladvisor.com (there was a good one, too). Also advice on where to snorkel. THANKS!

Need Cheap Room Rental Posted: Mon February 12, 2007 06:28 AM UTC
My husband and I are coming to Turks and Caicos in just 6 days. We have yet to find a place. We aren't looking for anything fancy as we are on a budget. Just need a bedroom, bathroom, airconditioning, etc. Does anyone have any ideas. The big hotels and villas we are finding on line are way out of our budget. We are super excite about visiting this beautiful island for the first time and exploring all it has to offer, so any feedback or help you have to offer would be super. Thanks in advance... Cheers!!!

We were in Provo last in 1996 and were married at the White House, Grace Bay. I cannot find any listings for the White House now. Does anyone know if this place still exists and if so what it is now called? We want to return for a 10 year anniversary trip.

Problem with Air Turks & Caicos Posted: Tue September 5, 2006 10:39 PM UTC
Wondering if anyone else on this board has had a similar experience -
I traveled on Air Turks & Caicos last summer, paid with my m/c at the time, and then last December 23 was charged several hundred dollars by this airline for fuel expense (charge code per my credit card company). I was stunned and have still not gotten any remedy from Air Turks & Caicos.
Has anyone else suffered the same problem and does anyone have any advice on how to get my money back?
kind regards

South or North Caicos Posted: Wed July 12, 2006 07:25 PM UTC
Anybody been there? I spend time on Grand Turk, but I have interest in North Caicos and South Caicos, and any other low-population islands in the Turks and Caicos chain. I would like advice on how to travel within the islands, preferably by boat, I don't like Sky King airline much. Also, any information regarding accomodations, bars and restaurants, real estate opportunities, beach and water conditions, etc. What a sleeping beauty these little islands are, like something lost in time and waiting to be discovered! I don't know of any other places in the Caribbean that are so undiscovered. Sure would like to hear from others who have gone before me. Thanks for any info, M. K.

What's Turks & Caicos like in late October?? Posted: Mon April 10, 2006 10:43 PM UTC
Hi,
I am planning a trip to Club Med and was thinking about going in late Oct-early Nov to take advantage of a great deal they are offering. I was wondering what the chances are of a hurricane at that point? I know that is nearing the end of hurricane season. Also, how hot is it? How bad are the mosquitos? Would I be better off spending the extra money and going in January instead? Any advice is appreciated.
