Turks and Caicos Islands Adding to our vacation at Beaches
Posted: Sun February 10, 2008 07:01 PM UTC
We'll be having a family reunion at the Beaches/Sandals resort in Turks and Caicos for five days this summer. We are looking for some place to go in the Island for another 3-4 days after this. I think we'll be tired of the all inclusive/kids atmosphere and would like some place to get a better flavor of Island life there. Any suggestions would be most welcome

Salt Cay Where to Stay in Salt Cay?
Posted: Thu January 17, 2008 01:40 AM UTC
Hi - I'm planning a week in Salt Cay in October for 3 couples; we'd love to rent a villa (must have 3 bedrooms) or other place where we can cook some of our own meals and snorkel from the beach. Also would like a deck to hang out, have cocktails & watch the stars. One of our party has MS and can't walk far. Sounds like a GREAT place but sure would appreciate some advice about the lodging thing. I was pretty much sold on Sunset Reef Villa until I read a couple of terrible reviews on traveladvisor.com (there was a good one, too). Also advice on where to snorkel. THANKS!

Turks and Caicos Islands Where to go?
Posted: Tue August 14, 2007 05:46 PM UTC
We would like to go to Turks and Caicos Island for our next vacation (in November), but where to go? There are too many islands and resorts. Where is the best spot for scubadiving, beach, nightlife and water activities (not necessary all-inclusive resorts, we would like to visit and try different things... Any suggestions? We will be two couples (4 adults). Thanks in advance!

Turks and Caicos Islands Need Cheap Room Rental
Posted: Mon February 12, 2007 05:28 AM UTC
My husband and I are coming to Turks and Caicos in just 6 days. We have yet to find a place. We aren't looking for anything fancy as we are on a budget. Just need a bedroom, bathroom, airconditioning, etc. Does anyone have any ideas. The big hotels and villas we are finding on line are way out of our budget. We are super excite about visiting this beautiful island for the first time and exploring all it has to offer, so any feedback or help you have to offer would be super. Thanks in advance... Cheers!!!

Providenciales Island Looking for the "White House"
Posted: Mon September 25, 2006 07:08 PM UTC
We were in Provo last in 1996 and were married at the White House, Grace Bay. I cannot find any listings for the White House now. Does anyone know if this place still exists and if so what it is now called? We want to return for a 10 year anniversary trip.

Turks and Caicos Islands Problem with Air Turks & Caicos
Posted: Tue September 5, 2006 09:39 PM UTC
Wondering if anyone else on this board has had a similar experience -

I traveled on Air Turks & Caicos last summer, paid with my m/c at the time, and then last December 23 was charged several hundred dollars by this airline for fuel expense (charge code per my credit card company). I was stunned and have still not gotten any remedy from Air Turks & Caicos.

Has anyone else suffered the same problem and does anyone have any advice on how to get my money back?

kind regards

South Caicos Island South or North Caicos
Posted: Wed July 12, 2006 06:25 PM UTC
Anybody been there? I spend time on Grand Turk, but I have interest in North Caicos and South Caicos, and any other low-population islands in the Turks and Caicos chain. I would like advice on how to travel within the islands, preferably by boat, I don't like Sky King airline much. Also, any information regarding accomodations, bars and restaurants, real estate opportunities, beach and water conditions, etc. What a sleeping beauty these little islands are, like something lost in time and waiting to be discovered! I don't know of any other places in the Caribbean that are so undiscovered. Sure would like to hear from others who have gone before me. Thanks for any info, M. K.

Turks and Caicos Islands What's Turks & Caicos like in late October??
Posted: Mon April 10, 2006 09:43 PM UTC
Hi,

I am planning a trip to Club Med and was thinking about going in late Oct-early Nov to take advantage of a great deal they are offering. I was wondering what the chances are of a hurricane at that point? I know that is nearing the end of hurricane season. Also, how hot is it? How bad are the mosquitos? Would I be better off spending the extra money and going in January instead? Any advice is appreciated.

Turks and Caicos Islands Affordable Living Help
Posted: Thu March 9, 2006 07:21 PM UTC
Hi. I have visited TCI on a few occasions and have contemplated trying to get a job there. If all goes well, I will need to find an affordable place to live. All of the listings I have read are asking for over $1500 a month. I am searching for a normal apartment or house for rent that is under $1000 a month. If anyone is able to direct me to a site offering affordable rentals or to a person who I can get in touch with I would greatly appreciate it.

Turks and Caicos Islands Snorkeling Excursion - Provo
Posted: Tue January 31, 2006 07:05 PM UTC
Just a word to the wise, I had a terrible experience with Silver Deep on a snorkeling excursion, leaving out of Leeward Marina on Provo in January of '06. Be careful, use other options if available! They were not understanding at all, and didn't take the time or effort to research the situation that occurred.

Grand Turk Island Info on Grand Turk?
Posted: Sat January 14, 2006 02:24 PM UTC
I would appreciate any comments or information on the island. I'm going 4/2 thru 4/12 of this year. Staying at the Manta House for awhile and then at Salt Raker Inn. My first trip to T & C Islands, so any info would be greatly appreciated. i.e. water temp that time of year, quality of swimming beaches, weeds in the water?, price of food and drinks, taxis, bars, restaurants, bugs and mosquitos, excursions, attitude of the people, availability of groceries, etc. I'm going by myself, as usual, single female, but I've travelled this way for centuries and know the ropes. Since Spirit Airlines is flying directly into Grand Turk from the States now, there should be a huge rise in tourism, Mostly I would like to know what there is to do other than dive. Let me know, if you have been there or have heard anything from someone who has been. Best to go prepared, you know. Thanks.

Turks and Caicos Islands Getting around
Posted: Mon September 12, 2005 05:00 PM UTC
Hi there!

We are planning a trip to Provo around February and are trying to figure out where we are going to stay. I have a map of the island with all the hotels, but not the restaurants. Given that my girlfriend and I are kind of finicky (she's vegetarian, I'm allergic to seafood), the choice of restaurants becomes a bit more important in making our decision as to where to stay. So... my question is, how easy is it to get around from place to place?

For example, Sibonne's looks fine for us, but their restaurant is pretty geared towards seafood, so we would have to go elsewhere to eat on quite a few occasions, but I can't tell how far I'd have to go!

Thank you!
