Trinidad Bring frozen meat on a plane?
Posted: Fri May 15, 2009 06:30 PM UTC
Visiting some friends in T&T. They requested I bring some Boudain (it's a sausage type meat packaged like bratwurst). Can I package that in my underside luggage? I know there are restrictions on fruits and vegetables coming in the country... but I can't remember meat.

Any help would be appreciated

Port-of-Spain Barcelona-Madrid-Andalucia: budget travel tips
Posted: Sun April 19, 2009 06:41 PM UTC
Hi dear all,

I'm traveling with my 2 lady friends coming June (14days) to spain.
We will be landing at Barcelona, then travel to Madrid and Andulucia, then back to barcelona again for our return flight.

As this is the 1st tiem we are traveling to Spain, any recommendations on:

1) Good, clean, convenient budget hostels/apt/hotels

2) Places to visit in these 3 cities (each city we will stay around 4 days) nature/shopping/architectures- What are the must not miss places to go?

3)Is it convenient to travel by train to these 3 cities? How much will it roughly cost to book a train ticket from Barcelona->madrid->andulucia->Barcelona(sevilla). is there return train tickets available for within 14 days' travel?

4)I understand there's free entry to various museums/toursim sites..is there any website i can know which day/timing can we go in for free?(we are on a budget you see...)

Thank you so much in advance :)

Trinidad and Tobago One single destination on Trinidad?
Posted: Thu December 18, 2008 05:34 AM UTC
Hi to everyone!

I go for Christmas / New Year's eve to T&T. Will spend most of the time on Tobago, so my time on Trinidad will be limited. Say 2-3 days. Outside of Port-of-Spain, what would be most interesting destinations to check-out? Any advice is highly appreciated.

Trinidad and Tobago Availability of diapers in Tobago
Posted: Mon December 1, 2008 01:05 PM UTC
We're traveling to Tobago from the UK in January 2009 with our 18 month old baby. Will it be safe to assume I can buy my baby's diapers once I arrive in Tobago, or should I bring my favorite brand with me to make sure we have no disasters?!

Your advice would be welcomed. Many thanks.

Trinidad and Tobago Info distance from Crown Point
Posted: Tue November 25, 2008 03:22 PM UTC
I'm going to reserve an accomodation in Tobago and would like to find something walking distance from Crown Point area (airport and surroundings) and Store Bay. How far are exactly Bon Accord and Canaan? Do anybody know something about Serenity Apartments? Is it true that they're few minutes on foot from Crown Point and only 20 minutes from Pigeon Point?
Thanks to all of you.

Hi All
Afriend would like to see Angel Falls in Venezuela while on holiday in T&T.
He is not able to trek so I guess it would just be a flight over the falls.
Can this type of trip be arranged ,if so when is the best time and what would be the cost.?

Trinidad Airport
Posted: Sat August 23, 2008 02:07 PM UTC
I will be arriving at the Port of Spain airport around 9:30 p.m. and have to be back again for a flight to Guyana at 7:30 a.m. (So I have to be there two hours early?) I do not want to spend a fortune for the night. Is there any cheap but safe hostel close by, or does anyone just spend the night at the airport when they have to be there so early anyway? Thanks.

Trinidad and Tobago September Weather/Tobago Wedding
Posted: Wed April 9, 2008 11:31 AM UTC
Hi guys, I hope you can help me. Me and my fiancee are planning on getting married in tobago. September is the easiest time for us to get off as we want 3 -3.5 weeks to enjoy the island. I have read many of these forums but looking for advice on how the weather will be as we want to be able to guarantee sunny weather for the day we get married and also, so we can enjoy our honeymoon.

I have been to T&T between the months of february and August about ten years ago and have experienced the sun - then two hours of rain - then sun again conditions that sometimes arise - is that the worst that happens in september or is there a danger of having two weeks of completely overcast all day conditions?

Two more things - I understand its not tourist season in september - will we experience any unique problems?
I see on forums that people are saying its getting bad for attacks - is this just a matter of common sense or should we be more careful than when I stayed in Trinidad ten years ago- Im a 6ft 237lb bodybuilder - am I still at risk of getting mugged?

Any advice will be gratefully received (and I know - being big dont mean nothing when the other guy has a cutlass - lol)!

Trinidad and Tobago Flying from Trinidad and Tobago to Havana, Cuba
Posted: Sun March 30, 2008 10:24 AM UTC
Hi,

I would like to fly or ferry from anywhere in Trinidad and Tobago to Cuba in August. I have had trouble finding anything on the net, and am not sure if any airline does direct flights. Does anyone have any information on this?

E.g.
Are their direct flights?
If not, what would be the cheapest place to stopover?
Are their ferries?
It is quite easy to get to Venezuela from TT - any flights to Cuba from here?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Trinidad and Tobago Tobago at Easter
Posted: Sat February 16, 2008 04:20 PM UTC
We're thinking that it would be fun to be in Tobago for the goat and crab races, but have a couple of questions. Is it going to be difficult to arrive on Easter Sunday in Port of Spain and find accommodations, then ferry over on Monday and find accommodations? We prefer not to make reservations in advance but will if we have to. Will it be more expensive? Is it worth planning our trip to get there at that time or maybe more of a hassle if businesses are closed? Any ferry interruptions at Easter? Thanks for any info!

Trinidad Airport Hotel
Posted: Sat January 19, 2008 12:54 AM UTC
We arrive about 8pm and leave about noon the next day from Port of Spain (in March). The last time we did this (2000) we stayed in the BelAir, but have read Very Bad Things about it recently, so am hoping for other suggestions for airport hotels. We'd prefer a free shuttle to/from airport and it'd be nice to have a convenient (attached or not) restaurant. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Trinidad and Tobago Safe in Trinidad?
Posted: Wed January 9, 2008 03:26 PM UTC
Hi there,

I am hopefully traveling to Trinidad in March to photograph a wedding. I am a professional photographer here in Toronto. I will be traveling on my own and am just wondering how safe Trinidad is for someone like me traveling with my equipment? I have recently traveled quite a lot to Mexico City & area so I am quite aware of the safety issues there. I'm hoping that Trinidad is not as bad.. Please help if you can.

Trinidad and Tobago Is there a ferry from Trinidad to Margarita Island?
Posted: Thu July 26, 2007 06:56 AM UTC
I will be going to Trinidad and Tobago in November and wanted to go to Margarita Island after. Does anybody know if there is a ferry that goes directly from Trinidad to Margarita Island, or is the ferry from Chaguaramas to Guiria, Venezuela the only option. Alternately, does anybody know if it is possible to hitch a ride on a yatch or other boat from the harbor.

Thanks,
Ron
