Trinidad and Tobago September Weather/Tobago Wedding
Posted: Wed April 9, 2008 10:31 AM UTC
Hi guys, I hope you can help me. Me and my fiancee are planning on getting married in tobago. September is the easiest time for us to get off as we want 3 -3.5 weeks to enjoy the island. I have read many of these forums but looking for advice on how the weather will be as we want to be able to guarantee sunny weather for the day we get married and also, so we can enjoy our honeymoon.

I have been to T&T between the months of february and August about ten years ago and have experienced the sun - then two hours of rain - then sun again conditions that sometimes arise - is that the worst that happens in september or is there a danger of having two weeks of completely overcast all day conditions?

Two more things - I understand its not tourist season in september - will we experience any unique problems?
I see on forums that people are saying its getting bad for attacks - is this just a matter of common sense or should we be more careful than when I stayed in Trinidad ten years ago- Im a 6ft 237lb bodybuilder - am I still at risk of getting mugged?

Any advice will be gratefully received (and I know - being big dont mean nothing when the other guy has a cutlass - lol)!

Trinidad and Tobago Flying from Trinidad and Tobago to Havana, Cuba
Posted: Sun March 30, 2008 09:24 AM UTC
Hi,

I would like to fly or ferry from anywhere in Trinidad and Tobago to Cuba in August. I have had trouble finding anything on the net, and am not sure if any airline does direct flights. Does anyone have any information on this?

E.g.
Are their direct flights?
If not, what would be the cheapest place to stopover?
Are their ferries?
It is quite easy to get to Venezuela from TT - any flights to Cuba from here?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi ,
I was looking to arrange a holiday visiting CUBA ,and either GUYANA or TRINIDAD.

I'm hoping to see one of the West Indies v Sri Lanka cricket test matches in March, and also visit Cuba.

I'm flying from the UK (Newcastle).

Can anyone advise where I can find regional flights CUBA-GUYANA or CUBA-TRINIDAD.

Thanks

Trinidad and Tobago Tobago at Easter
Posted: Sat February 16, 2008 03:20 PM UTC
We're thinking that it would be fun to be in Tobago for the goat and crab races, but have a couple of questions. Is it going to be difficult to arrive on Easter Sunday in Port of Spain and find accommodations, then ferry over on Monday and find accommodations? We prefer not to make reservations in advance but will if we have to. Will it be more expensive? Is it worth planning our trip to get there at that time or maybe more of a hassle if businesses are closed? Any ferry interruptions at Easter? Thanks for any info!

Trinidad Airport Hotel
Posted: Fri January 18, 2008 11:54 PM UTC
We arrive about 8pm and leave about noon the next day from Port of Spain (in March). The last time we did this (2000) we stayed in the BelAir, but have read Very Bad Things about it recently, so am hoping for other suggestions for airport hotels. We'd prefer a free shuttle to/from airport and it'd be nice to have a convenient (attached or not) restaurant. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Trinidad and Tobago Safe in Trinidad?
Posted: Wed January 9, 2008 02:26 PM UTC
Hi there,

I am hopefully traveling to Trinidad in March to photograph a wedding. I am a professional photographer here in Toronto. I will be traveling on my own and am just wondering how safe Trinidad is for someone like me traveling with my equipment? I have recently traveled quite a lot to Mexico City & area so I am quite aware of the safety issues there. I'm hoping that Trinidad is not as bad.. Please help if you can.

Does anybody know if there is an approved yellow fever vaccination centre in Port of Spain? If so, any idea of the cost for the vaccine? It is very expensive to get the vaccination in the USA.

Trinidad and Tobago Is there a ferry from Trinidad to Margarita Island?
Posted: Thu July 26, 2007 05:56 AM UTC
I will be going to Trinidad and Tobago in November and wanted to go to Margarita Island after. Does anybody know if there is a ferry that goes directly from Trinidad to Margarita Island, or is the ferry from Chaguaramas to Guiria, Venezuela the only option. Alternately, does anybody know if it is possible to hitch a ride on a yatch or other boat from the harbor.

Thanks,
Ron

Tobago Tobago the first two weeks of July
Posted: Sun June 10, 2007 03:52 PM UTC
So I am definitely going to Tobago for the first two weeks of July... I'll be travelling solo.

Are there any acommodation recommendations that anyone can give me for both Tobago and Trinidad? As I have no clue about either island I am clueless with regards as to what area to stay in. Any tips would be very much welcomed!

Is it better to book beforehand or is it cheaper to book on arrival?

Are there any must sees or dos that anyone would recommend or any tips in general?

Thank you in advance!

I'm planning on going to Trinidad and Tobago with my wife the last three weeks of July and was wanting to know if it is possible for the two of us to get by on USD $50 per day? Or what I should say is, are there accomodations below $25 for the two of us there? And does anybody know of an inexpensive place to stay in Port-of-Spain? Thank you for your help.

Hello!
I was bidding for a steel pan drum on ebay for the last few days. I really got my hopes up and was then beaten to the post at the last few seconds :(
Now i'm on a mission!
I've been searching for places to buy a drum in the uk, but keeping options open, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much it'd cost to buy one over in Trinidad. Any info would be great. Thanks X

Trinidad and Tobago Layover Hotel Recommendation in Trinidad
Posted: Tue April 24, 2007 11:57 AM UTC
Four of us will be traveling to Tobago in October. We will have to stay overnight in Trinidad on both our inbound and outbound trips. Do you know of anyone who may be close to the airport that can provide transportation to and from the airport, as well as overnight accommodations? We are hoping not to have to rent a car just for an overnight stay. Any recommendations and contact information that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Tobago I need help! Tobago- Trinidad- Venezuela
Posted: Fri February 2, 2007 12:01 PM UTC
I am about to book a flight to Tobago for June. There is a few questions that I would like to put to you.

1) What is the weather like at this time of year?
2) I am from the UK, will I be able to use my debit card in ATM machines. Is there any problem with using credit cards?
2) How easy would it be to get from Tobago- Trinidad- Venezuela and back again?
3) Or to go from Tobago - Venezuela?

On the map Venezuela looks really close, but of course that doesn't always translate into you being able to get to a place with ease, especially where there is water involved!

Trinidad Trinidad Airport & Customs
Posted: Fri January 26, 2007 05:17 PM UTC
My husband and I are considering a flight connection in Trinidad. We would be arriving from the USofA. I'm wondering how much time we should expect to spend upon arrival, going through customs and obtaining our luggage. How large is the airport? If we only have one hour between our connecting flight, would we make it? Thanks in advance.
