Soufrière Lengthy visit
Posted: Fri September 29, 2006 12:03 PM UTC
Been doing research on St. Lucia anticipating an extended business stay. Sounds like being gay anywhere in St. Lucia is something best kept to one's self if merely for purposes of self preservation. Seems like I should just keep to myself, get my work done, and get out. Anyone with any personal experience who can offer advice?

Saint Lucia Entry requirements (passports, visa, birth certificates etc)
Posted: Wed August 9, 2006 04:45 PM UTC
For a US citizen over the age of 21 visiting St. Lucia for 7 days...What is required...I've heard a passport is, a visa is not. Do you need your birth certificate and would a copy of that work? Do you need a certificate of citizenship? Sorry for so many questions but the internet sources are not consistent. Thanks

Saint Lucia Spending Money
Posted: Tue August 8, 2006 09:39 PM UTC
I'm going on a 5 day vacation to St. Lucia...I'll be staying in Castries and plan to visit the Pitons and go on a few rainforest walks. How much spending money (not including a hotel) would you recommend that I bring in US dollars per day. I want to eat decent meals, and definitely explore the island. I'll be traveling with 3 others so travel expenses will be split. Is it possible to enjoy St. Lucia in five days for less than 500 US dollars?

Saint Lucia Castries to Soufriere/Pitons
Posted: Tue August 8, 2006 07:33 PM UTC
I'm staying in Castries, close to Rodney Bay. If I want to go to Soufriere to see the Pitons, what is the best mode of transportation. I've heard horrible things about trying to drive yourself and road conditions. What would you recommend? Bus, car, boat? What's the difference in rates for each? Also, whats the best tour to take in the Pitons that's not ridiculous strenous and physically demanding?

Saint Lucia Help a Bridesmaid plan trip to Castries
Posted: Mon August 7, 2006 05:29 PM UTC
My best friend is getting married in March at the Sandals resort in Castries. Since the resort does not allow the same sex to share a room the other bridesmaid and myself are looking for places to stay. We would like to be close to the resort or at least have good transportation to the resort. We are on a budget. The brides mother is also not taking a guest and she may stay with us. I have considered a villa or a hotel room but I haven't made a decision for lodging. I have also not found much assistance online, so if anyone can refer some sites that would be great too.
Thank you.
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

Saint Lucia Deep sea fishing in St Lucia, June 7 - 12
Posted: Wed May 31, 2006 02:06 PM UTC
Hello, by any chance is anyone visiting St Lucia between June 6 - 13 and would like to take a full-day deep sea fishing trip. There are three of us and we are trying to save money, b/c it's expensive to charter a boat for an entire day, around $500-700. If we can find 3 other people it'd be great, only $125 per person at most. We are staying in Soufriere but i dont think it matters where you're staying or where the fishing operator is b/c they pick you up by water. Thanks.

Saint Lucia Is it true that US citizens are required to have a visa to visit Saint Lucia?
Posted: Wed May 31, 2006 01:10 AM UTC
I found this on the gov.'s website:

SAINT LUCIA - Passport, visa, and return/onward ticket required. Visa requires 1 completed application form, passport with minimum validity of six months, two passport sized photos, letter of invitation, proof of sufficient funds and hotel accommodations. Visa processing fee $30 for tourist visa. For additional information, contact the Embassy of Saint Lucia, 3216 New Mexico Ave., Washington, DC 20016 (202/364-6792) or Permanent Mission to the UN, 820 Second Ave., Suite 900E, New York, NY 10017 (212/697-9360).

I was under the impression that Caribbean, Mexico & Canadian destinations didn't require a passport, visa(s), etc. unil 2008?

Saint Lucia winter vacation in St Lucia
Posted: Mon May 8, 2006 08:15 AM UTC
Hello there,

We are planning a vacation at Sandals St Lucia around the first part of December 2006, but not sure on how cold it will get. This is our first trip out of the USA and not really sure. I have looked at various sites and seem to find a wide range from 60-70 at night and 77-83 daytime. Could anyone who has been there during this time period give me some tips on this subject. My traval agent suggest that it is really not that cold, and hints that prices will go up the first of January. But of course they are going to say that, thank you in advance for all helpful comments

Are there any gay friendly bars in St Lucia? My partner and I will be visiting the Jazz Festival in May 06. we enjoy good food, wine, company and of course Jazz. I understand that 10,000 visitors attend the Jazz Fest so doing the math... I reckon thats about 500+ potential gay visitors. Where are the other 498 going to eat and drink?

Hi,

Thinking of going to St Lucia or Antigua next May with a ten year old and a baby.
Been looking at St James Club, Pineapple Beach, Jalousie and Jolly Beach - can anyone give me advice on which one is in the best area, best beaches, which one is better for kids/baby and also which one has rooms which maybe have a living area with sofa bed for the ten year old. Don't want to end up with a king size bed for the three of us !!
Please help ! thanks...

Saint Lucia Windjammer in February

Taking a family trip in February and looking for recommendations/advice for activities with and without the kids (2 and 4 year olds). We don't like group stuff, so wondering if anyone has had a good experience with a particular guide or company, good non-hotel restaurant, etc.

Thanks.

Saint Lucia Island Drugs
Posted: Sun October 2, 2005 03:24 PM UTC
I have heard that this area (Saint Lucia) is a stop over point for Drugs. I have two teenage children whom I know will be wanting time on their own and am not naive to think that they might explore and perhaps tempted by pot, weed or whatever. Will they see this and what is the policy on drugs in general.

Saint Lucia Going Sunday - couple questions
Posted: Tue May 31, 2005 04:02 PM UTC
Hi my friend is going to St Lucia Sunday for 10 days. She is concerned about the weather right now, she is staying in the Rex by Royal resort and wondered if anyone else had stayed there and what kind of packing she should do for the evenings? dress up or casual. I tend to think middle road, but she would appreciate any feed back, so i said i would go on to my trust worthy forum!
Anything else anyone can add to make her visit even more lovely than im sure it will be, let me know!
thanks

Saint Lucia Turtles on the beach
Posted: Wed March 23, 2005 03:29 PM UTC
I've read a couple of comments on other forums about sleeping on the beach and waiting for turtles to come ashore to lay their eggs at night. This is supposedly supervised by some governmental/enviromental group. My wife loves that sort of thing. We will be in the Soufrire are late May. Can anyone suggest a contact phone number or the more specific locaton on St Lucia, or even if this indeed an option when there? Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone!

I am hoping to go to St Lucia in November and stay at one of the Sandals resorts. Does anyone have any information on these resorts, ie which is the best out of the three on St Lucia? and also is there any good diving to be had from St Lucia as I know the Sandals resorts offer free Scuba.

Many Thanks
