Hi,
I'm trying to find a low airfare from Las Vegas, Nevada to St. Lucia for June of 2008. I've contacted travel agents and done the on-line search. Can't find anything under $1,000. Any ideas? |

| Saint Lucia | Coconut Bay Resort Posted: Tue January 15, 2008 09:13 PM UTC
This resort seems to be away from the majority, which seem to be near Castries. I note that it is on the Atlantic, rather than the Caribbean side of the island. Does anyone have any familiarity with the resort - or the difference between staying on the east rather than the west, Caribbean side?
Planning a trip in a couple weeks - and the prices to a few places in St. Lucia look better than normal. Any known reason why this might be so?, would be another of my questions. Thanks in advance to the responders |

| Saint Lucia | Royal St. Lucian or Bay Gardens Beach Resort? Posted: Mon November 12, 2007 10:28 AM UTC
We'll be in St. Lucia for a week in early Dec. Can't decide between the two. We don't want an all-inclusive, do want a good beach and nice grounds with caribbean ambience. We've just about ruled out Discovery at Marigot becaise of the beach situation, otherwise it looks great. Bay Gardens looks a bit sterile.
We would also like info on which rooms to book. |

| Saint Lucia | Anyone know anything about these apartments? Posted: Thu November 1, 2007 02:52 PM UTC
I'm looking to book an apartment for 4 months for me & my husband & have narrowed my search down to two:
The Espoir Apartments at Marisule, Gros Islet has given me a really good deal. Their website looks great & the owners sound very nice. I've found some very positive reviews for these apartments. My only negative thought is that the place is a bit isolated & off the beaten track. We don't want to hire a car, we prefer to use the local buses. Anyone been here or know anything about the place, please? My second choice is the Poinsettia Apartments in castries. Again, the website looks great, good location, nice looking apartments. We have been given a great quote for these aprtments too. Except with these, the electric is extra. Does anyone know what we can expect from the costs for electric please? The other worry was that the owner said in an email to me that one of the flats has been occupied for 2 years now & may or may not be available for us as they haven't let her know yet. (It's the biggest of her apartments I think). This suggests to me that the apartments aren't run as holiday apartments but as rentals for locals? What do you think? Lastly, I cannot find any reviews on this place. has anyone been? Our budget is very limited and we are lucky to find any in our price range, but if anyone knows any others I would love top know about them. If not, opinions on which we should go for would be appreciated. 4 mths isn't long but it is if we hate where we are staying, so I need to get it right. Thanks for reading |

I will be in St. Lucia around March/April next year. I hate Hotels and would prefer private accomodation. An apartment or a bungalow for the two of us. Doesn`t need to be on the beach, but a nice view would be good. Any recommendations???

| Saint Lucia | Sandals Regency or Sandals Halcyon? Posted: Fri July 20, 2007 03:34 PM UTC
Just wondering which Sandals resort is nicer? I know the Regency is part of the Signature collection and the Halcyon is not, but which one really has more to offer? I know I can stay at one and play at all three, but I'd really like to stay at a nicer one if I can. (We would stay at the Grande if we could but it's a little too expensive). I think the Regency is a little closer to Castries; does that mean there may be more to do off of the resort and is it not so secluded? I know I've been posting a lot of questions on here, I really appreciate all of the replies! I thank you all for helping make our honeymoon special!

| Saint Lucia | Waterfall Cycling Adventure through Sandals Posted: Fri July 20, 2007 01:09 PM UTC
Has anyone ever done the Waterfall Cycling Adventure through the Sandals resorts? My finace and I are highly considering the Regency (How's the terrain)? As for the cycling Adventure, the description I found stated that an open truck (I don't know what that is) makes several stops picking up people at different resorts (I'm assuming at all the Sandals resorts), then makes its way to the Atlantic side of the island. Does anyone know how long the drive is? Is it a bumpy, hilly, twisty-turny type of ride? Then, once we get to the location, do we just ride mountain bikes and stop at different waterfalls? How scenic is it? And any other information you have about this would be wonderful! Thanks so much! :-)

| Saint Lucia | Where should honeymooners stay in St. Lucia? Posted: Thu July 19, 2007 11:58 AM UTC
After doing some research, it's very apparent that St. Lucia is known for it's walk in volcano, rainforests, beaches, and waterfalls. My fiance and I would love to see all of this on our honeymoon. We are considering traveling to St. Lucia but where should we stay? I am concerned about the twisy roads and being too far from the airport but maybe if we rent a car I'll feel better if we're the ones driving! I would still like to stay in an all inclusive place, but if there are other resorts/places to stay near all of the scenic stuff, we're definitely up for that. So out of all the provinces or states or cities, where should we stay?

| Saint Lucia | will 90 minute car ride from airport make me sick? Posted: Tue July 17, 2007 02:59 AM UTC
My fiance and I are considering traveling to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We definitely would like to stay at an all inclusive location. We're thinking one of the Sandals resorts, any other recommendations would be appreciated though :-)
Anyways, I am VERY concerned with the road conditions. I get extremely motion sick/car sick and I am very nervous about the 90 minute/40 mile drive from the airport to the Sandals resorts. How are the roads? Are they twisty and hilly? Has anyone else had a problem with the roads? Additionally, if the roads are terrible, are there any nice all inclusive resorts closer to the airport? Thanks for you input! |

| Saint Lucia | September weather Posted: Sun February 25, 2007 01:23 PM UTC
My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon in St. Lucia (Ti Kaye Village) during mid September. I am a bit nervous about the weather -- considering it is hurricane season, as well as rainy season. I've read that the rain only last for up to a half hour tops. Is this true? Do you think the weather will be fine around this time? Any additional info would be helpful.

we will be staying in a villa in the Cap Estate area just past Rodney Bay. where is the best grocery store to stock up between the airport and the villa? There must be a cheaper one on the way that the locals use. Certainly anything in Rodney Bay will be more expensive.

Has anyone stayed at Cotton Bay hotel? We are planning to go there in August and have not been able to find any testimonials about this place on the net. I think this may be because it only re-opened towards the end of 2006.
Any views/impressions will be gratefully received. Many thanks Christy |

| Canaries | The Canaries in March Posted: Fri October 27, 2006 10:24 PM UTC
My family and I (husband and two children 4 and 2) would like to go on holiday next year (can't go any later than March) and I understand that the Canaries is a lovely place to visit outside the tourist season and that the weather is still nice at that time of year.
Which island would be best suited to a young family? We would like to book a villa with a pool. Where would the water be warm enough in March? (Remember, young children!!) Thanks for any advice. |

| Soufrière | Lengthy visit Posted: Fri September 29, 2006 12:03 PM UTC
Been doing research on St. Lucia anticipating an extended business stay. Sounds like being gay anywhere in St. Lucia is something best kept to one's self if merely for purposes of self preservation. Seems like I should just keep to myself, get my work done, and get out. Anyone with any personal experience who can offer advice?
