Frankfurt FRA Airport Hotel and how to get to Heidelberg from FRA airport??
Posted: Thu September 17, 2009 04:05 AM UTC
HI FRA forumers,

Greetings from Malaysia..

I will be coming from Bremen to FRA on Thursday nite Oct 1 and will leave for Malaysia on Sunday nite Oct 4. I have one day of appointments in FRA and have the weekend free till my nite departure back to Kuala Lunpur.

I have 2 questions.

1)Which FRA airport hotel that is reasonably priced that I can stay? Reason being I plan to travel to Heidelberg on Saturday morning and return by Sunday back to FRA airport in the late afternoon.

2)I plan to visit Hiedelberg on Saturday morning-anyone knows which is the cheapest way by bus or by train?? Whats the cost for a return ticket?? Any recommendations on places to stay in Hiedelberg and what should I see there in one day???

Thanks so much for your help...

Frankfurt Hotel with easy train access to Frankfurt
Posted: Sat September 5, 2009 08:12 PM UTC
We are coming from Interlaken Switzerland to Frankfurt airport by train and don't want to make the trip the day of our international flight. Flight's in the afternoon so I'm looking for small town south of FRA that we might enjoy while spending the night and still be within 2 hours of the airport. We find smaller towns less expensive and easier to get around. Haven't seem a good enough rail map to see exact routs as they mostly show larger towns. It will be in June. Any ideas. Thanks for help.

Potsdam Visit Potsdam from Berlin
Posted: Sat August 15, 2009 02:24 PM UTC
Hi! I am probably visiting Postday with a one day trip from Berlin on Aug 31. I think the easiest way is to take the train to Potsdam Hauptbahnhof. Does the same train stop also in Potsdam Sanssouci Bahnhof? Otherwise, is there any public transportation from Potsdam Hauptbahnhof to the biggest attractions?

Frankfurt Question regarding Frankfurt Airport
Posted: Mon June 29, 2009 09:46 PM UTC
Hi All!

First of all thank you so much for all the help that you guys provided for all my and my parents' European travel so far. I needed to ask one question regarding the Frankfurt airport. I have heard that it is a very big airport and that the distance for switching from one gate to another in the same terminal is enormous. I wanted to know if there is a mini-cab or electric car sort of service available at the airport using which one can go from one gate to another in terminal 1. And if there is any such service how much does it cost?

Thanks a lot to all of you once again!

I would really appreciate if someone can please suggest some reasonable hotel names and also places to visit in Germany.

Also, I have no idea how much I should pay for roundtrip from Houston, TX to Frankfurt, Germany?
How much hotel does cost there?
The places to visit?
How many days i should extend his stay for after his business trip so we can visit some must see places in Germany?

Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Frankfurt Cheapest accomodation in Frankfurt?
Posted: Tue June 9, 2009 01:31 PM UTC
I have a stopover in Frankfurt in August on my way home. I just need a cheap room for 2 people that is convenient either to the airport or to the main train station. I am hoping not to pay more than $50 (this might be unrealistic).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Frankfurt I have 9 hours in Frankfurt ... what should i do?
Posted: Mon June 8, 2009 09:12 PM UTC
Hi there,

I arrive into Frankfurt at 11pm on Friday 12th June. I'm staying in Main and have a train out the next morning at 8am. So I have a limited time in Frankfurt.

I'm female and will be on my own. I'd love to do something fun and see a bit of the town. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a nice evening walk I could do to see the major sights in Frankfort? Or maybe even a nice early sunrise walk I can do to see some pretty sights?

thanks,
Mary

Frankfurt Purchasing a cell phone - where in Frankfurt?
Posted: Thu May 8, 2008 03:03 AM UTC
We'll be flying into Frankfurt & picking up our rental car downtown, and are thinking of buying a cell phone mainly just to use for our 4-week trip. I had heard from someone that they got a lower-end phone in London for $50 USD (approx.) including SIM card and $25 in airtime. That would be perfect! Any suggestions on whether this kind of deal is possible in Frankfurt, and the best place to go?

Many thanks!

Philadelphia Need info on service apartment
Posted: Wed April 16, 2008 02:21 PM UTC
Hi friends,
Me & my family are planning to go to philadelphia on May 2-5th.
There are 10 of us (7 adults, 1 child & 2 babies) travelling to Philadelphia.
In this condition it's better for us to stay in a service apartment, rather than in a hotel. I've browse some website looking fo a service apartment but haven't found one until now. With this email, I really really really need your help about infos on finding service apartment (has 3-4 rooms, aircon & max. $200-300 per day)in philadelphia, especially in Market Street. I'll be staying for 3 days & 2 nights. If you have any info, website or recomenndation on the service apartment that I'm looking for....please let me know ASAP.
Looking forward to hear news from all of you or you can email me also at shas_tri@yahoo.com. God bless you all.....

Land Brandenburg using my laptop with wireless hotspots
Posted: Sat August 26, 2006 02:03 PM UTC
My wife and I will be visiting my in-laws this December and I plan on taking my laptop. They have a wireless modem and I was just wondering if I should know anything in particular in regards to being able to get online using my wi-fi enabled laptop. We plan on doing a bit of traveling n Europe, but for the most part we'll be at their house. I believe the service they use is T-Online. My device is a Toshiba M105. Do I need to get an aditional wireless card? Is being able to connect to a wireless network the same there as it is here in the states?

I would greatly appreciate any information anyone can provide.

Potsdam Potsdam queries
Posted: Sun November 13, 2005 04:10 AM UTC
Hey VT Forums, Long time no see!

Well, here's my newest travel conundrum; I'll be visiting Potsdam and Berlin next weekend (mostly Potsdam, as thats where my friend/SO/whatever we are... is living at the moment) and i have a few questions:

I am flying into Schönfeld airport, arriving at around 16:15...
1) how strict are Schengen area customs and how long will it take me to get to the bus stop?
2) can anyone comment on Easyjet's punctuality? and their weight limit? (I've had lots of luck with Ryanair... even if i was over, they would still send my bag through)

various VBB Info
3)will it be easier for me to get to Potsdam by train and then bus or take the bus directly?
4) will an Italian University student qualify for the student discount (7day ticket) or price reduction on the daily ticket? I need the Potsdam ABC fare, and am trying to see which option will end up being cheaper. Also, this one ticket (Potsdam ABC) will be good for getting around Potsdam AND Berlin, correct?

5) Gerrem wrote about Potsdam Castle Night in the Sansousci gardens; anyone know when this event occurs?
(link http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/Germany/Land_Brandenburg/Potsdam-27762/Nightlife-Potsdam-BR-1.html )

5) any packing tips (besides gloves, scarves, and a really warm coat as said by my host)?

6) heard about boat rides on the lakes; can anyone give me any more information on those (or link me to where i could get more information)?

Danke Schoen!
