sand dunes? Corralejo vs Jandia Posted: Wed April 16, 2008 07:23 PM UTC
Hi there
We are planning a holiday on Fuerteventura and since the island's main feature seems to be its sand dunes, we would like to stay somewhere near these. However, we are rather undecided between Corralejo or Jandia. In your opinion, which are more spectacular?
Thanks!

Hotel y otros Posted: Tue March 11, 2008 10:28 AM UTC
Hola.
Muchas gracias!

Suggestions for a good hotel for lazy parents & teens who want to surf/boogie board, please! Posted: Fri January 18, 2008 08:39 PM UTC
It's a nightmare trying to meet everyone's expectations when all I want from Fuerteventura is to sit and relax with a few good books under a parasol by the pool.
Spouse wants to explore and keep one eye on any good European football matches on any nearby TV and eat good food.
Eldest 20something son wants to boogie board, swim, volleyball etc and watch the girls go by...
Younger sweet-sixteen, teen son wants to boogie board, try to surf, snorkel, swim, volleyball, watch footie with dad and watch older brother watching the girls go by so he can laugh!
I'm looking for a good B&B or half-board hotel with nice pools, nice food, TV that shows footie, and that is close enough to a beach with some learner size waves.... Oh... and a parasol for me, please!

Help! New to Canaries Posted: Wed January 9, 2008 12:34 PM UTC
Hi, me and my bf are looking to book a last minute winter break. We want sun and so have decided on the canaries. We have never had a winter hol before and in the summer tend to go to Greece and last year Sardinia. Therefore I am clueless about where to go!
We have narrowed it down to Fuetuventura as this goes on the right day and sounds more our cup of tea than the more popular resorts.
Now we are just stuck on the resort. We like authentic places, not too many English bars, high rise accomm etc, nice beach, nice bars and restaurants and nice scenery. We In the summer (high season in most places) I would always pick the quieter resorts and in low season the middle of the road ones. But I am not sure when high season is in the canaries or how busy it will be?
We have looked at Correjelo but I'm not sure if it will be too commercial. I like the sound of the resorts in the south more but they all sound too German. Will we be the only English there?
Costa Caleta sounds okay but don't like idea of it all being manmade.
I'm going round in circles and need to book this week. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Restaurants in Corralejo Posted: Sun September 16, 2007 10:16 AM UTC
Hi, I've gone through the restaurant tips and forum entries, but as most of them were quite old and the eating out scene tends to change rapidly in tourist resorts, I was wondering if anyone who recently has been to Corralejo could recommend any good restaurants? I'm up for all kinds of food, but in particular I'm looking for a nice sea-food restaurant where we could take our mum for her 60th birthday.
Many thanks in advance!

Where to stay? Posted: Fri September 7, 2007 03:29 AM UTC
My wife and I are considering a week's holiday in Fuerteventura next March but unsure where.
We are looking for somewhere with a bit of night life but not too busy. More chilled out G&Ts by the harbour than Vodka & Red Bull with "Drum & Bass!"
Lots of good food & not too many "Full English Breakfast" Cafes & "Red Lion" pubs full of package tourists.
A Naturist beach within walking distance that’s not too windy, would be nice as we don't like being by the pool everyday. Also Naturist beaches within a short drive as we will hire a car too.
Sounds like a tall order!
Any help would be appreciated! Many Thanks.

I would like any recommendations on a hotel or apartment within walking distance (5 to 10 mins) of Corralejo city center. I want to be nearby restaurants, cafes and shops. Also, any tips on what to do with small kids in way of daily fun. Thanks

Available medical infrastructure Posted: Fri August 4, 2006 11:05 PM UTC
HI all --
Fuerteventura sure looks like an attractive destination, but one thing makes me hesitate: We would be goin with 3 children, including our 6 month old baby.
Does it seem advisable?
Is there a hospital in case of emergency? Are there any ^particular dangers/how is the water, etc..?
For reference, we are Europeans, living in Paris.
Would appreciate your thoughts before we make our decision.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Looking at going to Fuerteventura for a holiday and can't decide between the following apartments:
Fuerteventura Beach Club,
La Tahona Garden, Caleta
Puerto Caleta Apartments, Caleta.
Has anyone been ? We are taking a ten year old and a baby and want to make sure it is suitable. Want to know how close the restaurants/beach/shops are.
It is between one of these and Menorca and they all look pretty good.
Please help !!
Thanks.

Where shall I stay? Posted: Thu March 30, 2006 09:10 PM UTC
Hi,
I was wondering if you could help me... last year I went to Gran Canaria, and had an amazing time. I stayed in some lovely bungalows, which had their own private terrace, garden and they came with two sunbeds and a table and chairs for the terrace, which meant that we could sit out on the grass area instead of using the ones by the pool.
I am very keen on going to Fuerteventura this year, and would love to stay in some similar bungalows.
I have three in mind, which stood out to look good:
Fuertesol
Castillo Beach
La Tahona Garden
Could anyone please let me know what these places are like, and which you reccommend? Also whether they have a gym and if each bungalow comes with two sunbeds and a set of chairs and a table?
If you know of any other bungalows please let me know.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
