I really need some advice.
I'm going to travel all alone to Spain in a few days, and I have absolutely no idea, how to get from Girona airport to L'estartit.
If it's a bus; where can I see the route plan, and how expensive is it?

I am flying to Girona with my three daughters on Tuesday of next week. Originally my husband was coming with us and we were going to hire a car. Anyway, he is not coming and i don't drive so i was wondering about transfering from Girona airport to L'escala ( for the return trip are flight is at 7am - so not an ideal time)has anybody got any ideas what the best way to do it would be.
Would be really grateful for any advice.

Hi, will be staying in Girona for 4 nights. We love Tapas, and welcome any recommendations for this.

a friend and I are travelling to gerona airport (thinking we where booking a flight to barcelona) through ryanair on the 11th of july. our flight is very late at night and will not be arriving untill 11:30pm. is there anyway of getting to barcelona at the time in the night?
we have already booked our flights so i would be very grateful if i could have a speedy answer!

Are there any late night trains from Barcalona to Girona? Or does anyone know how I can get timetables for that route online? I tried the FGC and Renfe sites but I couldnt find what I was looking for.

What are these off site car hire companies like. I have always used onsite companies before whereby it does not matter if you are delayed. Surely these off site rental companies have to meet you at a given time and location to deliver and collect the car...What happens if you are delayed?. Has anyone out there got any experience with these companies good or bad ?..Please let me know. Especially if you are a Girona traveller.

Hi folks first post here..great site, wished that I had found it earlier. Just wondering if anyone has found a cheaper alternative to Hertz or Goldcar in or around Girona airport or maybe even scooter hire. I regularly visit Tossa and Lloret and enjoy the independance of a hire vehicle the only must is Airport vehicle collection and return.

I am travelling to Girona on 1st March- 3rd March to visit a friend who lives in Zaragoza. Unfortunately on these dates is no trains running (renfe) and i am now stuck.

We'll be staying in Roses on the Costa Brava and wonder if it is possible to travel to Montserrat and back in one day. We'll have a car, but I can't find any direct routes. Perhaps drive to outskirts of Barcelona, leave the car there, and take public transportation? How long should we allow for this?

I've never been to Girona without a car before and have a few hours spare one day, so thought I would have another wander round. Does anyone know if there are there any lockers available either at the airport or Girona Bus/Train stations at all?

My bag will be too heavy to carry all day :-(

Hi there. I made a school-boy error yesterday and booked a flght to Barcelona (GRO), assuming it would be a taxi ride away from the centre of Barcelona. How wrong I was! I don't think I'll be the first or last to be misled by Ryanair - but I should have researched it first! Anyway, we have one night only in Girona and hope you can can help with a few questions to make our short stay a happy one.

1. How long would a taxi ride take from the airport to the centre of Girona?
2. How much would this taxi cost?
3. Can you reccommend a nice central hotel for me and the wife for under 75 euros per night?
4. Can you reccommend a nice restaurant for a romantic meal?
5. Are there plenty of bars to choose from?

Any further information would also be gratefully received.

My boyfriend and myself are travelling to Barcelona for 10 days through ryanair (girona airport).Getting to barcelona is ok...however we came across a slight problem with getting back. Our flight (to Malta) leaves at 6.45am therefore we need to be at the airport by 4.30am. We were planning on lingering around Barcelona till the late hours and then just getting an early bus to girona airport and waiting/sleeping it off there. However we realised that on Saturday there is no early bus!!! Do we have wrong information? All the timetables we found say there is no bus in the early morning from barna to girona airport.

If this is so... we figured our other option would be to travel to girona city during the day and check in to a cheap hotel/hostel for the 'night' and then get the bus from girona to the airport. We found there is one that leaves at 4am and arrives at 4.25am. Is this correct? and is this reliable? Any suggestions for a place to stay close to the bus station??

Could anyone advise whether Girona Central Bus/Train Station have lockers and at what charge these can be hired at, also does the station have any shower facilities too, better still does the station have a website please?

Would like to stay in Gerona Centre an extra day instead of spending a night at a BCN hotel. With a 1:00 PM flight out of Barcelona need the quickest, least expensive way to get from Gerona Centre to BCN.

Please inform about an affordable hotel (below 70/80 euros for a couple) in the center of Girona, if possible close to train station.
