Granada transporte en la ciudad
Posted: Tue October 6, 2009 05:22 PM UTC
Buenas tardes.
Me gustaría saber si desde el centro de Granada (Gran Vía) se puede ir caminando a la Alhambra y al barrio de Sacromonte, o en caso negativo, saber la forma ideal de desplazarse en transporte público.

Muchas gracias.

Granada Alhambra
Posted: Sun August 16, 2009 01:12 PM UTC
I tried to find out how to purchase tickets online for the Alhambra. It should work but I have some questions. If pay the ticket with my swiss credit card, can I get the tickets at the cajeros from La Caixa in Malaga without problems?
If I choose the morning session do I have to leave the Alhambra at 14.00 or can I stay as long as I want? I know that I have to choose my time slot for the Palacios Nazaríes.
Any tips for a nice and quiet hotel under 50 Euros a double?
Thanks

Granada Romantic night out
Posted: Fri June 26, 2009 02:11 AM UTC
Heya,

I will be travelling with my girlfriend throughout Spain in 2 weeks time and out last stop will be at Granada and I want to take her out on a romantic night to celebrate our relationship. I prefer dinner and dance (she is a fan of Jazz music) which cost no more than 30 euros per person. hopefully the restaurant has really nice view as well to compliment the night.

Any recommendations and contact numbers??

Thanks people, my "future" is in your hands! :D

Granada Nasrid Palaces when is the best time?
Posted: Thu June 4, 2009 08:40 AM UTC
Hi!
Im going to The Alhambra in June, morning ticket, and wonder when I shall choose to visit Nasrid Palaces. I guess it is least hot inside and prefer to choose a slot around 12.00. I only want to be assured that it IS cooler in the palaces, and that I don't miss out on something choosing to visit the other parts first.I read somewhere that once you´ve left coertain parts, you cannot go back.
Thanks!

Granada Granada to Cordoba by ALSA Bus; Transfer from Hostel to Bus Station
Posted: Thu June 4, 2009 06:31 AM UTC
We are visiting Alhambra, Granada (pre-booked) on June 17 and want to move to Cordoba the next day by ALSA Bus. We are staying near Alhambra. Would it be feasible to catch the first bus in the morning (7:30 am)? What are the transportation options from the hostel to the Bus Station and at what time should we leave the hostel? Do we need to book the Bus in advance or can we do it when in Granada?

We want to visit Mezquita as soon as we arrive in Cordoba. If we manage to catch the 7:30 am bus, we will arrive in Cordoba at 10:15 am. The next bus leaves Granada at 10:30 and reaches Cordoba at 13:10. My question is: how far is the ALSA Bus Station from Mezquita? is it at reasonable, half an hour, walking distance?

Does any one have experience of Socibus that runs from Cordoba to Madrid?

Please reply generously. Your thoughts and experiences will be of great help for us. Further, please share other tips and details as well.

Granada Alhambra Help
Posted: Wed May 27, 2009 06:57 AM UTC
We are a group of six friends, planning to visit Alhambra in mid June. I am referring to www.alhambra-patronato.es as suggested in a recent post.

I am planning to pre-book Afternoon ticket (14:00 – 20:00) through internet as we will be tentatively arriving in Granada (Granada Airport) at 08:25 in the morning.

Question # 1: I have a feeling that I would not be able to take a print out of my ticket and rather need to collect the same from outside of the Alhambra. What is the exact procedure and how much in advance should I show-up at the ticket booth? Are there any other collecting booths other than outside of Alhambra?

Question # 2: What is not covered in the “12 Euro Daytime General Visit; Afternoon Admission Ticket”?

Question # 3: I would rather prefer to off-load my backpack at a hostel first, which I have to book, and then visit Alhambra after breakfast and some rest. Is it a good choice or I should rather go to Alhambra directly from the Airport, deposit my backpack in the storage facility and visit Alhambra straight away?

Question # 5: Any other suggestion/ advice/ tip, keeping in view the above parameters?

Thanks in advance

Granada Cadiz or Jerez?
Posted: Tue May 19, 2009 12:34 PM UTC
As part of a month long visit to Andalucia, I will be spending 3 nights in either Cadiz or Jerez. Haven't quite decided yet...recommendation for both abound.

Question 1 - From Granada, which one is easier to get to ? Train or bus?

Question 2 - From which one is it easier to get to La Linea/Algeciras for a day trip to Gibraltar? Bus/train?

Granada Charming Hotel with Pool Granada or nearby
Posted: Fri April 24, 2009 04:30 PM UTC
We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (9 & 13 yrs) staying 2 weeks in Andalucia, first few days in the Hostal Al Anon in Jimena de la Frontera, a little hotel we are familiar with and love and then the final week in an apartment in Nerja to join friends. We have 3 nights between the two where we fancy a charming hotel with pool, either in Granada or nearby but would consider any other suggestions between Nerja and Jimena. It will be the last week in July. the ability to walk to restaurants and /or bars in the evening would be an advantage but if an attractive hotel was suggested with large grounds and facilities in the countryside, or an alternative town or village location, we would also consider that and drive into Granada for the touristic visits and lovely tapas. As you can see we have the idea of Granada but are open to other recommendations or suggestions. we like nice food and wine and we like places with character. The kids? they like the pool, the pool and the pool..... and a bit of nice food and culture too!

I'll be in Granada in August and want to go by bus for the day to Cordoba for a quick look at the Mezquita. I gather the first bus leaves Granada at 7.30am and takes around 3 hrs. Does anyone think it's feasible to do this? It will probably be my only chance to visit Cordoba.

Hi
i have read some travel-reports where all car-drivers suggest to next time visit granada without car, because of terrible traffic.
therefore I am looking for either:

a) a nearby village to leave my car there overnight and travel to granada by bus or train

b) a hotel/accommodation that is nice and easily to reach by car.

would appreciate help.

Granada Granada - Alhambra on Easter
Posted: Mon February 16, 2009 09:29 PM UTC
Hi,

We'll probably spend 11th-12th of April in Granada - which means we'll be there at the end of Semana Santa!

1. Are there special events that we should know about in advance? Are there any processions or other events that we might be interested in?

2. Is there a special schedule at Alhambra - I couldn't notice any unusual opening hours or anything else - according to their website, but maybe I was just missing something...

3. Is the night visit to Alhambra worth it, on top of a daytime visit - within 2 days stay in Granada, or will it be too much???

4. Any other recommendation will be most appreciated!

Thanks,
Ana.

I was in Granada on Sunday 5 October, and I came across an open-air event where lots of people were working at lace-making. I was fascinated.

Can anyone tell me what was going on? Does this happen regularly, or was it some sort of special event?

Thank you.
