Granada Travelling from Granada to Alicante
Posted: Fri July 18, 2008 07:48 AM UTC
We want to get from Granada to Alicante in late October. We have had a look at ALSA's web site and there seem to be 2 buses leaving at 2.30am, then nothing until 10.00am ish. This doesn't get into Alicante until around 4.00pm and it would be a shame to waste the middle of a whole day just travelling. And 2.00am is a bit of an effort!! Does anyone know of any other bus/transport services to get us Alicante? And if not, perhaps some good spots to hang out on a Monday night in Granada until 2.00am :) Thanks

Granada Best Flamenco in Granada, Children Friendly
Posted: Thu June 5, 2008 05:42 PM UTC
I'm taking my sons to Granada this summer and would like to know of any cool places to take them to see a real flamenco show. I heard of one place where Federico Garcia Lorca used to hang out. It was a famous cave restaurant. Any clues as to what i might be talking about. THANKS!

Granada Are audio tours of the Alhambra available?
Posted: Tue June 3, 2008 10:32 AM UTC
I'm visiting Granada in October with my husband and teenage kids. The guided tours are a bit pricey for us and I'm wondering if we can rent audio tours?

If so are they available at the Alhambra entrance itself and what is the cost? If we have bought tickets in advance would we have to queue for hours to hire an audio tour?

I don't suppose there's any site that provides podcasts to download onto ipods?

Advice gratefully welcomed!

Thanks,

Hi,
I'll be in Granada for two nights in June and wonder if you can recommend any really nice, but not too expensive hotels in good locations? Thank you very much for your help.

Granada Can't miss the Alhambra or they will KILL me! - Help!!
Posted: Tue May 20, 2008 03:57 PM UTC
I am a scatterbrained mom of two young kids so that means my brain is fried most of the time. Last time I was in Granada, (hold in your breath), I didn't make it to the Alhambra!!!! My eight-year-old, tearfully clutching her copy of "Tales of the Alhambra" was beyond disappointed with me and I am going back in a few weeks. How do I GUARANTEE I can get her and my mom in this time. It's the highlight ofthe trip for them. I used to study in Granada 21 years ago and I never realized how tough it can be to get in because back then, all I had to do was climb up the hill and walk in! Well we had a series of unplanned events come up, put off getting tickets and the last two days we were in Granada last year it was closed! Seriously, they will kill me, I need to get those tickets but how far in advance and where is thebest place. I am only in Granada for 3 days this time but can I buy them from Malaga or some other city? HELP!!!

Granada Unique hotel in Granada
Posted: Sat May 17, 2008 10:35 PM UTC
Hello guys! The first stop in my trip to Andalucía this September is Granada and I'll be spending 3 days and two night there. I've found several hotels in the city but haven't found anything truly unique and special. I like accomodations with character and history. For instance, while in Sevilla I'm going to stay in a monastery two hours north for two days. I'm not looking for anything exact. Just unique. All suggestions are welcome -- regardless of whether or not you've stayed there. Thanks is advance!

Granada Taking a bus in Granada
Posted: Sat February 2, 2008 12:47 PM UTC
Hello,
We are looking to rent an apartment for a week in Granada in October while I attend meetings at the Palacio des Exposiciones y Congresos. There's an interesting vacation apartment in the Albaycin barrio, but it looks as if I'd have to take a bus to the Palacio each day if we stayed there. If we do this, what would be my travel time each way? Is this practical for someone who doesn't know the city very well? How frequently do buses come, and what is the system for buying tickets? Any other information will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Granada first time in spain please help!!
Posted: Fri January 25, 2008 04:32 PM UTC
hi all, we are planning to spend 12 days in spain, please comment on our itin:

Day 1: arrive barcelona around 3pm, walk around city
Day 2-4: barcelona; barcelona night train to granada
Day 5: granada alhambra; stay in granada
Day 6: morning bus/train to ronda; stay in ronda
Day 7-9: afternoon bus/train to sevilla; stay 2 nights at sevilla; train to madrid morning day 9
Day 10-11: madrid
Day 12: early morning flight out of madrid

I'm having trouble booking train tickets on www.renfe.es. i went to their english page but when i go to booking, it turns into half spanish.

1) for night trains from barcelona to granada, there are a few prices but doesn't say which kind of bed it is. which price should i choose?
2) should i take train or bus from granada to ronda? seems like there is no direct train or bus, can anyone give me sites where i can book these tickets?
3) should i take train or bus from ronda to sevilla? also difficult to find info on this route.
4) if we decide to stop over at cordoba for a couple of hours, would there be lockers in the train station that would be able to fit suitcases?

any recommendations on hotels in cities we are visiting? looking for convenience and cleaningness. budget around 100 euro or a bit more per night.

thanks a lot for any input!! i don't where to start planning for this trip. have been looking thru lonely planet guide and some sites. but i guess everyone is just supposed to know the trivials of booking tickets. please help!!

best regards,
yammi

Granada 1st time in Granada
Posted: Mon January 21, 2008 08:28 AM UTC
Hi all! I've been to Spain a couple of times but it will be my first time to Granada. I am taking some friends of mine with me. What would be a nice 2 to 3 star hotel in the city center, ranging from around 70 to 90 Euros for a double standard room you can recommend?
What food and restaurant can anyone recommend to try in the area of the old city or city center?
Thanks!

Granada Transportation to hostal from the rail station
Posted: Mon January 14, 2008 02:36 AM UTC
Need some help to figure out a way from the train station to our hostal at C/Rosario near the cathedral. We will be coming in ~8:20PM from Ronda. What would be the best way to get to our hostal. I would prefer to take a taxi. But I read somewhere that the streets may be closed for traffic. Will it be easy to find a taxi late in the evening and how much might the fare be? Any suggestions would be helpful.

I'm travelling from Liverpool UK on the 20th January 2008 to Granada Spain. I am taking my son there for his 21st birthday treat. A work colleague has suggested that this is the wrong time of the year to go. Can anyone suggest any activities or places to visit at this time. I'm sure he's mistaken.

Many thanks,
