I understand that Beaches Resort has a Single Parent month deal for May. Is anybody on this forum considering doing a trip in May to take advantage of this special deal. I have contacted them (Beaches) to find out exactly what the deal entails and will let anybody that is considering know the details.
THANKS |

| Jamaica | Transportation from Sandals Whitehouse Posted: Thu April 17, 2008 08:26 PM UTC
My Wife and I are
coming to Sandals Whitehouse Resort on June 24th and statying for a week. We had been on a cruise ship previously and went to Ocho Rios and to Dunns River Falls and had a blast and loved the culture. We would love to one day while we are there to travel to the more populated area for shopping and authentic Food at a local Reastaurant along with that evening going to a Night Club for dancing. How much is it to get there by Taxi; or what is the best method for doing this as far as where we should go. We have found that dealing with the locals is alot cheaper than going through the Resorts or ship. Thanks for any information you could provide. |

| Montego Bay | Bed Bugs in Montego Bay Posted: Thu April 3, 2008 01:13 PM UTC
We recently returned from the Royal Decameron in Panama, we were there March 17th to the 24th. We encountered bed bugs in our room, one incident only, on March 21st. When I awoke on the 21st, I had one stuck to my torso, with a few bites around the area, obviously he already had breakfast, lunch and was on dinner. I found it on my backside while showering, and if you think the shower water knocks it off, you are wrong. I had to pry it off of me, and after several attempts, it finally let go, and I threw it down the drain.
We went to front desk and had our room fumigated...now we are concerned that we may have brought them home with us in our luggage, after reading other people's posts. Here's my question - has anyone ever experienced bed bugs on their vacation and NOT brought them home? We have been checking diligently, vacuumed our bedding, put the luggage in the garage, sealed in a bag, and I washed all of our laundry in hot water. It does not appear that my husband was bitten at all on the trip, just me. And we were never bitten again. I would like to hear from other people who have had this experience and what happened after they arrived home. Also, if you did bring them home, how soon after you were home did you notice them? |

| Montego Bay | Jamaica in August? Posted: Fri March 28, 2008 02:33 PM UTC
Hi there
My partner and I are currently planning our honeymoon. We are seriously considering the Sandals Royaly Carribbean resort in Jamaica and would be staying for two weeks at the beginning of August. We love the look of the resort and the country, but have heard that the weather at this time of year is less predictable with rain almost every day. Is this accurate? We so want to go but cant change the dates. Obviously we dont want to go somewhere which is going to be a wash out but jamaica is the one place we both desparately want to visit. Its a tough call...Do we go or not!?? Thanks Jason |

| Negril | The Caves Resort and just basic Jamaican information for Future Newlyweds... Posted: Wed March 19, 2008 12:37 AM UTC
Hello. My name is John and I just have a couple questions that I want to throw out there. My fiance' and I thought we were going to have a Wedding/Honeymoon about a year from now. We also thought that the low months of the year, hurricane season, would be better to go because of the price.
We ended u deciding that we are probably going in August sometime. We chose the Caves Resort in Jamaica. Does anybody have anything to say about that resort or anything particular about going in that time of the year for that specific area (I know nobody can predict the weather, but im just curious is all). Can anybody help us out with ANY information at all about the resort or the area of Negril itself. This IS our first time doing this afterall... Thank you Future Newlyweds in search... |

Hello. My name is John and I just have a couple questions that I want to throw out there. We thought we were going to have a Wedding/Honeymoon about a year from now. Thinking that Low months would be good to go.
We decided that we are probably going 4-6months from now. Jamaica; The Caves Resort. Does anybody have anything to say about that resort? Also, we are wanting to see some kind of American or UK based Concert/Show while we are visiting. We are going to spend 5-7 nights (probably 6) so base it however you wish... Can anybody help us out with ANY information at all. This IS our first time doing this afterall... Thank you Future Newlyweds in search... |

| Montego Bay | Montego Bay or Ocho Rios? Posted: Thu March 13, 2008 01:41 PM UTC
I am planning a trip to Jamaica this summer but can't decide between Ocho Rios or Montego Bay. I am 21 and will be bringing a friend, we want to lay on the beach and do excursions during the day and then go out and have fun at night. I really want an all inclusive trip. Any advice? I am a little worried about Ocho Rios because most of the beaches are nude. But Montego Bay is more expensive. Help!

| Jamaica | Mayfield Falls Posted: Mon March 3, 2008 12:48 PM UTC
Will be in JA soon and was thinking about visiting Mayfield Falls with the family. Although I'm very familiar with JA, I've never been to Mayfield Falls and I get the impression it's a more strenuous visit than YS, Reach or Dunns River. My relatively healthy 69 year old mother and 2 year old son will be with us, so was wondering if the visit is still worthwhile with them coming along or if it might be too much for them to enjoy. Any opinions? Thanks.

| Montego Bay | Transportation Companies Posted: Thu February 28, 2008 06:15 PM UTC
My husband and I will be visiting Jamacia in April 2008, to celebrate our 20th Anniversay. We have traveled before and have always rented a car for a couple of days to get the true experience of locals and the region we are visiting. We will only be in Jamacia for 5 days and I don't want my husband to worry about driving this trip. I want to see Jamaica, Negril, Ochas Rios and spend some time there not the tourist places. I have already contacted Barrett Adventures and Clives Transportation, Clive's has a better price. Does anyone have any other suggestions on private transportation? We are staying at the Holiday Inn Sunspree. Thanks so much!

| Ocho Rios | I need resort advice! engagement w/ girl! help Posted: Mon February 25, 2008 04:07 PM UTC
Hello friends
First time poster. I have been doing lots of research in Ocho Rios and the surrounding areas. I narrowed it down to the sunset grande but after reading reviews, am slightly resistant. I plan to travel there dec 29-jan 2 and want to ask my girl to marry me. Is this a good place to do so? Can they give me a private dinner on the beach or some other special accomodation? Also applevacations looks to be the best booking site, any advice on this/ thank you in advance |

| Jamaica | What to do in Jamaica?? Posted: Wed February 13, 2008 05:30 AM UTC
I'm spending a week in Jamaica. I'm flying into Montego Bay. The plan was to head immediately over to Kingston, climb the Blue Mountain Peak, spend a full day sightseeing in Kingston/Port Royal, then stop by the Black River Great Morass on the way to Negril. I was going to spend the majority of my time in Negril relaxing after climbing the Blue Mountain peak. Is this a good plan?
Can anyone make any suggestions? I've been researching some guesthouses in Negril but can anyone recommend one in Kingston? And, I've been warned NOT to go to Kingston. How bad is it? And please, tell me what I must do and what I absolutely must see! All advice/stories are welcome. |

I have noticed some of the hotels stipulate no smoking in restaurants....what about the rest of the resorts? The bars? I can understand not smoking in the rooms so I presume smoking on the balconies is ok....your thoughts please!
