Isla de Lanzarote Lanzarote Bay Aparthotel
Posted: Tue January 2, 2007 09:49 PM UTC
We have just booked a 2 week all inclusive holiday at the Lanzarote Bay at the beginning February. However, I have since read various reviews and although the majority are good(ish!), there are some fairly bad ones. So just wanted to know if anyone else could confirm either way as we may well cancel and choose somewhere nicer if its the case. Its me, hubby and four children aged between 4 - 8.

Isla de Lanzarote the windy island?
Posted: Wed December 27, 2006 09:59 PM UTC
Dear all,

I am thinking of going to Lanzarote next year, but everybody keeps mentioning how windy the island's beaches are, which I find rather off-putting. Is it really that bad? Of all three main resorts on the island (Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca), which one offers the beaches better protected against the wind?

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I am going there in February for an International Congress and I am looking for cheap flights from LISBON, PORTUGAL to LANZAROTE.

I have the hotel covered in Costa Teguise and food is on my own but I need to find a non-expensive way of getting there ( any stops).

If any of you have inputs, please share them, thanks,

Isla de Lanzarote Traditional Resaturants?
Posted: Tue October 31, 2006 02:43 PM UTC
Hello all

I will be taking my first trip to Lanzarote next summer for a wedding, we will be staying in Puerto Del Carmen.
This might be a long shot, but, I was wondering if you could advise me on reaturants in the area that are in keeping with local tradition, not too touristy, with romantic or just beautiful views over the harbour etc...

many thanks for your help, i look forward to hearing from you xx

Isla de Lanzarote Telescopes and "English pubs"
Posted: Mon September 25, 2006 11:21 AM UTC
Two questions for you. We'd like to spend a week in lanzarote in Jan 07. My partner is interested in the telescopes on the island. I have seen one web site which says trips are only possible in the summer. Are there telescopes open to the public all year sound?

Also, we usually aim for German resorts, although we're from the UK, as the people are much more friendly and less noisy, the food and beer is better and there are less 'all day english breakfast' places and £1 a pint's. We're not looking for OAP hotels, just a nice friendly area. Are there areas like this in lanzarote please?

thanks

Isla de Lanzarote Difficult question
Posted: Tue August 22, 2006 04:32 PM UTC
All
Please excuse the nature of this question but we want to be respectful of the island. We are a group of 6 chaps going over on a stag in Oct to Puerto Del Carmen. We are a quite bunch and not typical of the normal stag parties. Except.. We would like to visit one of the "night clubs" in Puerto Del Carmen.
Can anyone advise if these venues are legal in Lanzarotte? If not please take our word that we will not visit.

Best regards

Isla de Lanzarote Fiesta
Posted: Sun August 13, 2006 10:15 AM UTC
August is 'the' fiesta time. I went to Puerto del Carmen Fiesta last night at the old harbour, and had a rousing night in the Plaza. I was surprised how few English tourists there were given that the Avenida is a quarter of a mile away and it was throbbing with people. There is a tourist information bureu on the promenade advertising it. Where were you all?

Isla de Lanzarote accommodations Jan-Mar 07
Posted: Wed June 7, 2006 03:17 AM UTC
To celebrate my wife's 50th and feed my windsurf passion, Lanzarote, Costa Teguise is our plan. An extended stay. Looking for cheap, clean, small, quiet. Hope to be close to beach, shops, restaurants so we don't need to rent car. But if we have to rent bikes or scooters and stay further from centre, that's OK too.

Isla de Lanzarote Access to Camel rides
Posted: Thu May 18, 2006 01:11 PM UTC
I was in Lanzarote in February and we took 2 organised trips - the "North Island Tour" and "The South Island Tour" which were absolutely fabulous.

We are returning to the island in June - this time with our grandson who will be almost 3 years old. I am sure he would love a camel ride but I don't want to book a whole day-trip on a coach with him.

I can't recall if you are able to visit the camel ride area unless part of an organised trip - I know some parts of the volcanic landscape are not accessible by car or on foot.

Is it possible - and is it easy to get to the camel rides? Is there a bus or must I hire a car? Maybe there is a short trip only to see the camels?

Any advice gratefully received!
