Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Tours by Taxi
Posted: Tue August 25, 2009 03:33 PM UTC
We're in Las Palmas for one day, from a cruise ship. I would like to go to Teror, but can't seem to find bus schedules. I've looked at the transportation website. So, I was thinking of taking a guided tour perhaps with a taxi. Or, are there tour operators in Las Palmas that I could reserve with? I just can't seem to find any information about tours (except for the big tour companies that want 30-40 people).

Thank you for all ideas and suggestions!! :)

Posted: Tue August 11, 2009 08:39 AM UTC
Sorry to drive everyone crazy on this board, but I am getting nervous! We are arriving at LPA at 01.40am.Will we be able to get a regular taxi at that time, and if so what would be the price to transfer to Las Palmas city, or do we need to book a private transfer?

thanks all.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria stay in LP or move around?
Posted: Fri July 31, 2009 02:22 PM UTC
We are a couple aged 50,60 and would like to take a short break in Gran Canaria in December. Not into partying or beaches, more scenery and history.Would like to ask whether it would be better to stay in Las Palmas (the city) and take day trips out to different parts of the island or whether it would be better to move from place to place. How easy would it be to get accomodation- I mean is booking ahead essential or can we wing it?

Also is the best way to go to hire a car or can one make do with public transport?

We would have around 5-6 days in all.

Hi there VT
I am looking to book a week's sunshine and Yoga in Gran Canaria..
Do you know of any places that offer a yoga retreat and nice accomodation where I can relax by the pool as well. I am a 35 year old woman travelling by myself and so somewhere accessible and central would be ideal..

I am looking to go 2nd week in November from Glasgow.
all advice is welcome..
Kind regards

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria HELP! Don't know where to stay!
Posted: Sun September 14, 2008 08:20 PM UTC
My boyfriend and I will be traveling to Las Palmas in November for 3 nights. I have spent hours searching through hotels, reviews, photos, etc. I can't seem to get a clear idea of where to stay!
We would like easy beach access (less than 5 minutes walk) & don't require all inclusive or 5 star hotel; just something safe, clean and easily accessible to other activities either by foot or taxi.

Any advice would be helpful, we are stuck on this one...

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria best area to visit and stay christmas 2008
Posted: Sat August 2, 2008 04:56 PM UTC
Shall I stay in Las palmas or in a more tourist oriented place a week from christmas 24.12.08? Ordinary I love cities with all possibilities, and the daily life, but I have got second thoughts about the chrismas time; I guess that much of the shops/entertainment places are closed in the city, while the tourist areas are more open because of much customers and better market for business.

- If this is correct; what place would be most fun, in your opinion?

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria a hotel in las palmas
Posted: Fri July 25, 2008 03:41 PM UTC
Im in Las Palmas 24.-31.12.08 and has reserved a room at hotel Astoria in the city, but has not quite decided which hotel yet. Looking at AC Gran Canaria as an alternative.
I want first of all a hotel near to the city and all fun things to do here; jass,music,wining/dining, amusement districts etc. But I also want a decent hotel with training facilities and a decent neighbourhood, with little fear of being robbed when out late etc. I hope to find a such a hotel for a reasonable price.
Any good ideas for me?

Im Australian but living in the Netherlands, and I want a real break from the cold, but fairly close..? it looks beautiful! but will it be what i want?

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Accomodation and Transport Las Palmas
Posted: Thu July 20, 2006 11:25 PM UTC
Hallo everyone,

me and my boyfriend are going to Las Palmas for 8 months and are wondering if anyone knows a place to stay for the fist couple of weeks until we find a flat? We are students and of a low budget so a room or a storage place would be also fine, until we get in touch with University.

We are arriving with 2 surfboards and bikes. How can we get from the airport to the city without killing anyone in the bus?? Or is there enough space to transfer them. Probably a taxi is too expensive or managable? Hich-hicking is out of the question, or?

Please, it would be great if someone could sent some info or ask his surrounding if maybe they want to make some extra money in renting a room.
Thank you in advance,
Carry on travelling

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Disabled & Mobility Services
Posted: Fri May 26, 2006 09:15 PM UTC
I am interested in communicating with any disabled or mobility impaired visitors to Gran Canaria who would like to share up-to-date information on wheelchair access in hotels, restaurants, bars etc. Anyone who uses a wheelchair, mobility scooter or other walking aid and how you have found facilities here and also the reaction and helpfulness of hotel and other service staff to access etc. I am continually updating our website at www.SolMobility.Com with this type of information and would welcome useful first hand accounts from the areas of Maspalomas, Meloneras, Playa del Ingles, Puerto Rico, Mogan, Amadores, San Agustin, Sonnenland, Arguineguin and Bahia Feliz.
Thanks in anticipation and sunny regards. Paul
