My 17 year old son is spending the summer in Leon Spain. He is living with a host family. What should I know about this region that I might not have read in regular on-line searches? What is the major form of employment in Leon? What is this region know for besides the Cathedral? What should we ask him to bring home that reflects Leon? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I was assigned to live with a host family in Ponferrada for a month or so, starting in June 2005. I thought i was going to be in Madrid..but am now told Ponferrada. I have never heard of this place before and was wondering if anyone has been there or what there is to do, if there is a near nightlife in or around the area, how the people are (ect.)

If anyone could help me out, that would be fabulous!

Estare en Leon en los principios de agosto. No conozco la ciudad, pero ya se que la catedral es muy bueno. Podeis decirme algo de los barres y nightlife? Busco ambiente autentico, i.e. no guiris!

I'm planing a driving holiday to northern Spain next year, staying in Leon. I would really like to stay at the Parador. The paradores website states that there is a carpark at the site in Leon, but having stayed at other paradores in the past, I have found that sometimes there are not enough spaces! Is the car park at Leon parador adequate, and is it easy to find? Thanks!

¡Hola! Veo que todo el mundo habla en inglés asi que aquí estoy yo para empezar a hablar en español. Bueno a lo que iba. Hay que preparar una salida de juerga hacia Vigo (si es que llegamos) saliendo de Ponferrada. La fecha probablemente sea por Enero-Febrero del 2003. ¿Interesad@s?
