Overnite Lodging in Malaga Area Posted: Thu October 1, 2009 06:54 PM UTC
Will be driving down from Granada thru Motril and south east toward Gibralter. Need an inexpensive overnite, non hostel, on beach side, anywhere between Almunecar and Malaga. Some mentioned: Almunecar Playa, Bahia Tropical, Arrayanes Playa, Best Alcazar (on Marina del Este...not the other one;), Elimar, Proamar, and El Rancho.
One with the most votes from you guys and gals wins :)
Muchas Gracias (with my Catalunya tongue tween my teeth :)

Gibraltar Posted: Sat September 19, 2009 04:23 PM UTC
I want to take a day trip to Gibraltar from Malaga. I will be there early November and do not want to rent a car. Does anyone have a suggestion about tour company or car/driver hire? I understand it is is better to go only to the border and walk across and take a local tour. Is there bus service form the city to the border?

40th Birthday Party - Malaga restaurant suggestions needed Posted: Sat August 29, 2009 01:30 AM UTC
I'll be celebrating the Big Four-O on Friday, 2nd October and will be going to Malaga for an extended weekend with my friends, currently 8 people confirmed, this could increase to about 10 or 11. I have not been to Malaga before and would welcome any suggestions anyone has for a nice restaurant with a great atmosphere where we could spend the evening enjoying tasty food and good wine. English-speaking staff would be helpful as only one of us speaks a little Spanish. The place should offer a nice and affordable selection of wines and cava and mix of meat and fish dishes. Ideally, we wouldn't want to spend more than EUR50 a head maximum. Thanks for your help! Nic

Planning on going to malaga for a girls holiday around August! Posted: Mon May 18, 2009 02:07 PM UTC
I'm planning a trip for about 8- 17/18 year old girls and I'm obviously trying to get it as cheap as possible and looking for an area with great nightlife. Malaga has been suggested to me as suitable for what I'm looking for. I was wondering could you give me any decent quality (1/2/3*) cheap hotels or apartments to rent and names of good clubbing aareas? We would like to be fairly central to the nightlife aspect and close to the beach or infact a hotel/apartment with a swimming pool. Thankss!

Transportation from Malaga, SP to Faro, PT Posted: Sat April 18, 2009 03:58 PM UTC
We will be in Malaga for one week and will depart from Faro, PT. What is the best way to get to the Faro Airport. I thought we might spend one night at a location closer to Faro along the coast of Spain. Not sure how long it will take to drive from Malaga to Faro. Is driving the best option? Thank you for any information you can provide.

5-hour stop over in Malaga Posted: Sat April 11, 2009 01:58 PM UTC
Hi! We will be having a 5-hour stop over in Malaga from Barcelona to New Castle. Is it possible to visit Alcazaba? What is the cheapest way to get there just to take some pictures and not miss our airplane? If it's not possible to go there, is there any place we can go for some sight-seeing near the airport so we can maximize our trip?
Thanks!

Alternative art venues in Malaga City Posted: Thu February 19, 2009 04:31 PM UTC
Hi
I will be visiting Malaga in May and was wondering if anybody knows of any art galleries or studios that are run by artists themselves, that showcase the work of emerging and more established artists.
I will certainly be visiting the established art galleries and museums, such as Picasso museum and the Contemporary Art Centre but was also hoping to find some more 'alternative' venues.
I know Malaga has a thriving 'alternative' music scene - does this apply to the art scene as well?
I've scoured the net but with no luck - I think I need help from someone who knows Malaga pretty well!
I'd really appreciate any help with this, thanks.

Bus Terminal Posted: Sun February 15, 2009 06:02 PM UTC
Hello!!
Quick question..
Is there just one bus terminal in Malaga or several. My mum will be travelling from La Linea to Malaga on Thursday on a Portillo Bus, and then going onto Almeria on an Alsa Bus. The same goes for her return, but she was wondering if Portillo and Alsa buses operate from the same bus terminal in Malaga as she only has a 15min gap between her change of bus.
Thanks for all the info you can give!

People Carrier taxis Posted: Wed January 28, 2009 09:19 PM UTC
Hi, we are a family of 5 travelling to Malaga in August this year, I have had some crazy quotes for a transfer from the airport to Miraflores where we are staying. I have found out that a taxi outside the airport would cost us 40 Euros each way which is a fair price but I am unsure as to whether they have people carriers as taxi's. We would obviously not be able to fit into a standard 5 seater car, any suggestions would be fantastic!

Malaga, Spain Posted: Sat January 24, 2009 08:45 AM UTC
We will be visiting Malaga in May just for a day. How accessible is the city from the port? Can we explore the town on our own? If not what sort of transportation should we get? From the port, do they have the hop on hop off buses that you can take for the day? Interesting places to see and do in Malaga?

Changing Train at Bobadilla Station Posted: Tue December 30, 2008 04:40 PM UTC
Hi
I would be traveling from Granada to Malaga by train in my coming Spain trip.
I understand that I would need to change train at the Bobadilla Station. I intend to take the train leaving from Granada at 7.15am and arriving at Bobadilla at 8.56am. The soonest train that leaves Bobadilla to Malaga is at 9.13am.
Can anyone advise:
1. Will I be able to make it on time for the train transfer since it is such a shor time frame? I do not know how big is Bobadilla train station and whether my arriving train platform and departure train platform is near or far from each other.
2. Will there be any chances that my first train from Granada to Bobadilla be late and hence miss the train from Bobadilla to Malaga?
Help to the above will be much appreciated.

A visit from Malaga to The Alhambra Posted: Tue October 21, 2008 03:10 PM UTC
We will be stopping in Malaga for one day on a cruise..from 8am to 6pm....is it feasible to try to go to The Alhambra? I know it is quite a drive.
We will be there on November 1, 2009....All Saint's Day....and I'm presuming that everything in town will be closed. So, our only option is really to take a tour (if tour guides are working that day)
Or, can anyone give me some other suggestions as to what to do while there for a day?
Thank you very much for any information. :)
