How much is taxi from Palma (lets say old town area) to Cala Mayor? Posted: Sun August 16, 2009 03:24 PM UTC
Hi vt forum members,
We are going to Mallorca in few days and gonna stay at Cala Mayor (close to Palma)
As i am aware that busses only run until around 12, and driving is not an option under considerable influence of alcohol, how much would a taxi ride cost from palma to cala mayor? how about from palma nova to cala mayor?
Anybody knows how is the nightlife in cala mayor like? (i am not looking for hardcore partying, just lively bars and cafes)
Many thanks before!! :)

Whats the best way of getting from Palma Airport to puerto de soller? Posted: Thu July 23, 2009 04:10 PM UTC
Hi
Please could someone advise me of the best way of getting from Palma Airport to puerto de soller? I know its about 40 minutes in a cab so i'm guessing that would be quite expensive as I will be traveling alone. Is there a bus or a train i can get instead?
Thanks,
Ali

Car hire for Palma Nova Posted: Sun July 5, 2009 11:25 PM UTC
We have been looking at car hire for a week as we are travelling from Palma Nova to Cala Millor and wanted a car for the 2nd week of our hoiday on the east coast. The prices on all types of car hire are are pretty steep - has anyone hired cars in resort and has that proved cheaper than over the Internet?
Also, we wanted to eat out at some 'genuine'Spanish restaurants - not just touristy - any recommendations - in palma nove or cala millor?

Alcudia - best way to do trip on Tren De Soller - Soller Train? Posted: Tue April 7, 2009 09:13 AM UTC
We are going to Alcudia in August and so it will be a busy time! We are also about as far from Palma as you can get, but we want to take a trip on the Soller Train.
I wondered if anyone had any tips for planning the day? I want to take as leisurely ride as possible rather than just hop-on and hop-back straight-away - maybe stop off along the way for photos.
I have the map and timetable - however I need to plan this in with a trip by bus to Palma as I prefer not to hire a car while on holiday.
Any tips or info about your trip?

Majorca at Easter Posted: Fri March 13, 2009 08:37 AM UTC
We are spending some time in Majorca over Easter, staying in Palma, Soller and Pollenca.
Are there any Easter celebrations?
What closes or shuts down over this time?
Any suggestions for lovely restaurants in these areas?

Which Resort? Posted: Sat January 17, 2009 09:39 AM UTC
Hi, thinking of going to Majorca in June and wondered which resort is the best for us. We are a couple, no children, don't go to nightclubs, but like nice restauarants and bars, a good beach and generally nice resort. Oh, and prefereably no more that an hour from the airport by car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

First Visit to Cala D'or Posted: Tue August 26, 2008 12:18 PM UTC
Hey everyone.
Well as usual I'm on my travels to new places and this time me and my girlfriend are off to Cala D'or.
Never been there or to Majorca so please give us some much needed advice so we can make the most of the time there, in particular all the usual:
Nice places to eat?
Nice places to drink?
Nice romantic places to spend our time in the area?
General things we should do whilst on Majorca and places to visit?
Many thanks in anticipation of all your help :)

Fuel Strike Effects Posted: Sun June 15, 2008 11:32 AM UTC
We are visiting Majorca in a few days and was wondering what the situation is like regarding obtaining food. There has been a lot of press lateley about supermarkets running out of food, no petrol etc. We are travelling with a 6 month old baby who needs specific food. If we cant obtain it out on holiday we need to take it with us.
Any advice gratefully received. We are staying in a villa in Pollensa.
Thanks,
Simon

Spanish resorts Posted: Tue June 3, 2008 10:04 PM UTC
I have had some great family holidays in Majorca over the years but now as we are traveling alone I am looking for any resorts that are not dominated by the British or the Germans.
Are there any resorts that one would regard as a typical Spanish resort preferably on the coast?
Regards
Geoff

Basically we are flying in to Palma in a few weeks and yet are staying alllll the way on the other side of the island in Alcudia. My question is, I have been quoted 126 euros for return journey by a rental type company and I have no idea if this a OK as have no comparisons .... would anyone know if this was about right ? If not, does anyone have any otehr cheaper suggestions ?
Also, a friend has recommended a trip to Pollensa and I wondered if this was do-able by foot or bike ?

Hi all,
i will be visiting Palma in a mount with a friend. When we're there we also want to see Barcelona, stay there one or two days and return back to Palma. we're looking for the fastest and the cheapest way to get Barcelona.
I guess there are some ferries from palma-barcelona, but the trip takes 7 hrs.
Are there any fast ferries between these two cities?
Can anyone reccomend me the easier and the faster way to barcelona?
