Would anyone here have some information on the new Majestic Elegance? I was wondering if the grounds will be pretty sparse and not very established by next february? I would appreciate any info that someone could provide on the resort.

Is there a spot just outside the beach where one can go snorkelling without having to rent a boat or go on an excursion ?

is it bothering that the Catalonia Bavaro Beach is isolated from the rest of the resorts?

i am planning to stay at the majestic colonial this summer.. and i was wondering,

How good is the night club at majestic?
how far away is the riu palace from the majestic?
If i go to the riu palace, will i be able to enjoy their activities as well?
Can i go to the riu's disco?
can i eat and drink at riu?

i know its a lot of questions, but my friend and i are planning to stay in these two hotels, so that is why i was wondering..

my wife and i honeymooned in punta cana 3 years ago. while i was there i bought a black bead necklace from a vendor on the beach. last week the necklace broke. i cant remember the name of the beads used. it is a smooth volcanic rock that is very heavy. someone please help me so i can find new beads online.

I am going to Punta Cana this summer and was wondering if anyone had some advice on the Jungle Sarari excursions. They all seem alike and was curious which company to book trip with. I have heard of Bavaro runners and Outback Safari and did not know which one might be the best.

We are visitng Punta Cana on Monday for 2 weeks,plaes can you tell me what the weather is like.
Does it rain a lot, how much sunhine is there ?

I am traveling to Punta Cana this summer and will be staying @ the Grand Palladium. Are there any nearby casinos that offer the table game craps.

I am planning on staying next week at hotel Bayahibe. I would like to know if there are wifi hot spots in this town. Preferably at hotel Bayahibe.

At the very least an internet cafe where I could plug my laptop.

How do I get someone set up in advance to pick up and take us to our resort from the airport. Always before when we have traveled in the this area it has been set up for us. I'd like to have someone pick us up and return us to the airport so I don't have to worry about it prior to arriving. We need to go to Gran Paradise Bavaro By VRC Carretera Del Marao Arena Borda Bavaro. If you could help us I'd be very greatful. We arrive 5/5/08 at 3:24 PM and return 5/12/08 at 7:47 PM but would need to get to the airport about 2 hours earily so about 5:47 PM. I will just be my husband and I. Again if you can assist me, please let me know soon so I won't keep looking. Thank you. Kay

My mother and I are going to the Majestic Colonial for the week of April 24 to attend a wedding. Has anyone stayed there, I have read such mixed reviews!!! Also do we take CDN$ or US$. Thanks for everyone's help

A group of 6 are going to DR and we like to salsa dance. Do they play salsa at most of the discos? We are staying at the Iberostar Bavaro. Where are some places to go. I've read some cllub called Mangu i think? Do they play Salsa there. Thanks!@

Im traveling to punta cana next week. we don't have a rental car or travel voucher. what's the best way to get to the hotel? is a cab safe?

my partner and i are travelling to punta cana on 31st july, i have heard it is the rainy season then?! will this ruin our trip as i was hoping for it fo be nice and sunny for the whole of the two week...

and also, we are staying in the LTI beach resort on bavaro beach just wondering if any one else has stayed there. Would really appreciate your thoughts on the place as we havnt been able to get much information about the place other than the main website ect. thanks for your help. kathryn x

My husband and I are going May 11-15,2008. I can not find any up to date information on this hotel. We are booked into the Royal Service area and I hope it is worth it..
My husband is playing golf and I am wanting to do the spa. I can not get any information on the spa as to rates/is it any good etc.
What about the food, I did see one review and it was not good so now I am worried as I am the picky eater!!!

Any help would be great!

I want to travel within the Dominican Republic and need to get from Punta Cana to Puerto Plata, but I can't seem to find an airline that will get me there. I need help ASAP!!!!

We are going back to Punta Cana for a second time. The first time we bought Cigars from a vendor who came to our resort. Is it safe to buy Cigars from these people who sell them when the resort has a vendor night?

This will be my wife and my 1st trip outside of Canada, since we have been married 22 years. We are going to be staying at Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort. We have bought a bunch of kids things (sidewalk chalk, crayons and colouring books and some kids games) the help out with the tipping of the room girls (maids) as we where told that they love these type of things, for their kids. What other types of tipping should we be doing. I know US money goes a long way but what type of amounts should we be tipping and for what services.

Also I am a very early riser, around 4 am and was wondering if I should bring my laptop with me. I am in college, at the age of 47 and could do some homework at this time in the morning as I don't think there will be must more to do a 4am. Is there internet in the room and if so at what cost? Also if I do bring my laptop, is there a way to keep it secure then we aren't in the room, as I am sure it won't fit into the in room safe.

Heading to Punta Cana in Feb, are there any Harley Dealerships that are close to Puna Cana? Is it possible to take a bus to a nearby town that does offer HD Gear??? Just curious

How long and how much ia a taxi from the airport in Santa Domingo to the Club Med in Punta Cana

Hi. I am travelling to Punta Cana in the 1st two weeks of July. Some weather websites give inflicting info. I am advised its the start of the rainy season, but would I assume correctly that its roughly 2 days per week of downpour then dries off just a quickly. Many thanks. Chris

I don't want to sound paranoid, but evereytime i google "punta cana weather forecasts" It seems to be showers and thunder showers?

I'm looking to find an all-inclusive in the D.R. for this coming February. I'll be traveling w/my wife & our 11 y.o. daughter. I've been told Punta Cana is my best bet. Any recommendations on the best value in this area?

I am going to Punta Cana in January. I have never left my small town in Canada before. How do i go about tipping the hotel staff?
Do i leave money everyday? do i wait until the end of our stay?
Some people have told me to bring things for the staff, like Shampoo, colouring books (for their kids), Make up, ETC. WHat should i do?

I have a wedding to attend at the Ocean Sand Golf & Beach Resort and I was wondering if I can stay at a different resort and then go to the wedding anyways. Do they give wristbands for those who stay at that resort? Can I buy a day-pass at the Ocean Sand/Blue? Could I just show up? Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Has anyone stayed at Melia caribe in Punta Cana? Any thoughts?

I am leaving for holiday... because of some confusion with the booking I now get to choose one of the following three resorts...
a) Ocean Blue Golf and Beach Resort -
b) Grand Palladium Bavaro -
c) Punta Cana Princess

Any suggestions which is the better?

We are travelling to Punta Cana soon, and was wondering if other travelers have suggestions for items needed at the schools...
