San Sebastián Accommodation
Posted: Wed September 27, 2006 04:15 PM UTC
We are visiting San Sebastian next week for 3 nights and would like to find a lovely guesthouse to stay in.
We would prefer something small, personable, and not too pricey! And in a good location to explore the city.
Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks

San Sebastián Where is this?

A simple question. I've found these pictures of San Sebastián:

http://viswiz.imk.fhg.de/~foursa/photos/29-san-sebastian/crw_7022_rj_web.jpg

http://viswiz.imk.fhg.de/~foursa/photos/29-san-sebastian/crw_7026_rj_web.jpg

This is a very interesting place. Does it have a name? How can I reach it? It would be great if you could locate it for me on a map.

Thank you

San Sebastián What are your area preferences?
Posted: Tue May 30, 2006 06:37 PM UTC

I've been looking at some options for accommodations in San Sebastian and Bilbao and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend one particular area over another, and also under what names are they normally listed.

What would you recommend for someone looking to stay in a busy /but not overwhelming/ place in close proximity to some of the main streets and/or point of interest. Half an hour of walkind would be close enough for me. :)

Thank you very much !

San Sebastián just a beginner...
Posted: Fri May 26, 2006 02:07 PM UTC

Hi there!

I will be flying from Toronto to Bilbao in a month. The purpose of my trip is to explore the Basque region, learn Spanish, get to know the people and to investigate some possibilities for legal stay and employment. So far my on-line search for accommodation and additional information for my stay hasn't been so successful, and I begin to feel a little bit worried. Last year I did fly-and-drive throughout the Costas, but there was so much information in English and the rest was easy.
I would be extremely grateful for your feedback, please share your thoughts, recommendations and maybe some first hand experiences.

Thanks in advance !

Firstly - does anyone know which train station in San Sebastian the Surex overnight train leaves from - it has thrown me because there are 2! - and - worst case scenario - does anyone know the rough cost of a taxi from Irun to San Sebastian!

San Sebastián accomodation in Donostia
Posted: Sun May 21, 2006 01:58 PM UTC
Hi,
Ive been given a job working in a language school in Donostia but it doesnt pay all that much - about 600 euros a month and Im worried that I wont be able to afford to live in the city. Does anyone know how to find cheap accomodation there? Or would it be better to live in a nearby village?
Also, a friend of mine has got a job in Vitoria. We were hoping to get a flat together, but it seems like the public transport between the two cities is expensive and slow, so if anyone knows of a village thats roughly the same distance between the two cities, that would help a lot! Or, would it be easy for my friend to find a job in Donostia working in a tourist office or a bar or something??
Sorry about the bombardment of questions! Thanks/ Gracias/ Eskerrik asko!

San Sebastián Language (Basque, Spanish, Catalan, English)?
Posted: Thu May 4, 2006 01:52 PM UTC
I would love try out some basque language when i take my trip to donostia next month, but it seems so impenetrable... will the locals mind my bad pronunciation, or should i stick to my (equally bad) spanish?

When i look at restaurant menus (when not eating pintxos) what langauge will they be written in?

Is this holiday going to be difficult for me with my poor language skills?

Do you know about any other festivals in the North of Spain or south of France mid-july ? PLEASE HELP US !!! Thank you very much !!

Hello,

I need to find accomodation with easy connection (and travelling time not more than an hour) to Anoeta Stadium - Is there public transport from the old town to the stadium, and how long does it take? It would be great if someone could point me to a website where I can find all the info about buses, stops and travelling time to get there.

Thanks a lot

San Sebastián Recommended Pension?

Wondering if someone could give a recommmendation for an inexpensive pension here. Does not need to be close to a beach. Something quiet would be prefered. Arriving next week.

San Sebastián Trip to San Sebastian
Posted: Wed April 13, 2005 08:12 PM UTC
We'll be in San Sebastian May 17-21, 2005. I am taking my digital camera and will need to unload pictures as, I'm sure, the memory card will be full.
Is there service in town to do that, i.e unload to the CD or other (eg USB drive) storage?

Aso it will be nice to meet some local VT members, for a chat, a walk in town, a meal together or quick Basque language lesson.
Thanks in advance.

San Sebastián Hospedaje en la parte antigua de San Sebastian.
Posted: Wed December 15, 2004 04:52 AM UTC

Agradeceré mucho cualquier respuesta a mis dudas.

San Sebastián How much do private rooms costs in summer 2005?
Posted: Wed November 10, 2004 05:29 PM UTC
The last time that I was in San Sabastian, the little old ladies met me at the train station and solicited my business. It seemed that the going rate was that for about 10 Euro you can have a good place to sleep and even get your laundry washed.

Is that still true, or has the price gone up?

What is the going rate in the summer that the little old ladies are charging?
