Santander Bus station confusion ... which bus station???
Posted: Wed July 29, 2009 12:30 AM UTC
I have been looking at ways to get from Santander to San Vicente de la Barquera. I found La Cantabrica, and this station is supposed to be at c/Cádiz & Méndez Núñes., across the Renfe Station - center of town near the Cathedral. I only have weekday schedules for this company.

There's also an Alsa which has weekdays and weekends ... station appears to be there.

* I will need to make bus - train connections twice and need to untangle this *

Guess one of my problems is that Google maps shows the little railroad tracks a little too far back from where the station is. I have actually walked out of this station (the FEVE). It looks like both Feve and Renfe share the space?

Any suggestions wether I should take La Cantabrica or Alsa?

Are the directions to the bus station right?

Thanks!

Santander Plymouth Santandar Ferry Need a Room?
Posted: Tue July 8, 2008 03:57 PM UTC
I was considering a side trip before a conference in Bristol. The Brittany Ferry to Santandar seems a great choice. Do you need a room or could you go without considering the wide array of facilities on the ferry.

Hola a todos!
We will arrive in Santander by ferry on 28th July which we understand is a bank holiday. What are bank holidays like in Spain? Will we be able to buy basic provisions like milk? We are renting a casa in Viveda to the west of Santander.
Un saludo

Santander Overnight in Santander
Posted: Tue March 4, 2008 02:39 AM UTC
Greetings!

I will be spending my birthday this summer in Santander. Was wondering if someone could suggest a special place to have dinner?

Also, was hoping that someone could give me some feedback on either of the following hotels? I'm trying to decide between the Hotel Silken Rio or the Hotel Las Brisas?

Thanks!

Santander Searching for a Guide/Translator for Video Project in Santander
Posted: Mon April 30, 2007 06:45 PM UTC
I'd like to hire a student guide/translator to help us film a few locations in Santander this week (May 2nd through 5th 2007). Guide must speak Spanish fluently (Santander native preferred) and be able to translate into English.

We'll need the guide for- 2-4 hours for 2 or more days. Our schedule is pretty flexible. Pay is negotiable.

If you're interested or know of someone who's available please e-mail steinja@uvsc.edu ASAP

Santander Santander airport to Somo
Posted: Fri April 27, 2007 05:08 PM UTC
Hey,
I'm travelling to Somo on the 10th May for a surfing holiday and am staying at 'Hostal La Concha'. I'm arriving at Santander airport at 18.00. How would I go about getting from the airport to somo? I've read that it is possible to get a ferry from Santander to Somo but where so I get this from, and what time at night does it stop running.

Many thanks, Greg.

Santander apartments
Posted: Tue January 30, 2007 10:09 PM UTC
Hello,

Myself and 3 friends would like to visit Santander for a week in July. Can anyone recommend good areas to stay? How would I go about finding apartments (or similar self-catering accommodation) that we could rent for the week? We aren't hiring a car and so it needs to be accessible by public transport.

Thanks :)

Santander Hiring a cheap van for a week
Posted: Tue May 9, 2006 12:39 PM UTC
We are planning a trip from Santander to San Sebastian in July 2006. And we need a van.
Hiring it from convential car rentals is just unaffordable (especially a van).

Can anyone give us some advice? Are there local car rentals? Private people? Insurance issues?....

Thanks a lot!

Santander Room during the summer 2006
Posted: Fri April 28, 2006 12:50 PM UTC
Me and my girlfriend are hope to find some DELE courses during the summer in Santander.

But we are frightened away by the high prizes that are meantioned different places on the internet. Because we pay about 400 euros a month for a two room apartment here in copenhagen, and we are so naive that we were hoping to find something equal in Santander. We are students so we cannot afford much more because the spanish courses are also quite costy.

Do any of you know any newspapers or webpages where we can find cheap rooms during july and august. We just need one room and access to a bath and a kitchen. We might also be interested in a swap (like www.casaswap.com) for july and august.

Thank you for your help in advance

Hi,

Does someone know the actual duration of flight time with ryanair from Stansted to Santander?

I'm a nervous flier. So hopefully if its not too long I'll feel more relaxed.

I'm hoping its not much longer than about 90 minutes from take off to touch down.

Santander Where's special to eat in Santander? And what to do in two days?
Posted: Wed September 7, 2005 08:14 PM UTC
I am off to Santander this weekend with my boyfriend for three nights. I would like to know if there is a nice resturant (I am sure there are many) as it is my birthday on Saturday and some good places to go for a drink or two.

Also we are really only there for two whole days apart from the beach what else can we do there, I wanted to do a trip to the mountains but is that too far, and are there buses that go there.

Hope you can help,
Thank you,

Santander nightlife?
Posted: Tue May 10, 2005 03:05 PM UTC
Hi there,

I am visiting Santander with a group of 4 for a long weekend. We were wondering if there were any good bars or clubs people could recommend to us - after reading some comments about Santander it sounds a bit sleepy with not much nightlife....is this the case?

If anyone has any ideas of places to go/avoid it would be great to hear.....

Thanks
