Transportation from Porto to Santiago Posted: Mon April 24, 2006 02:39 PM UTC
Hi, does anyone of a good way to use public transportation to go from Porto to Santiago de Compostela? There is one Alsa bus that runs through, but only in the afternoon. We would prefer a morning bus or train if possible. Thanks!

S d C August 06 Posted: Fri April 7, 2006 04:15 PM UTC
Hi,
I travelled around Spain briefly last year, unfortunately I did not make it to Santiago de Compostela although I am looking to return in August this year (unless anyone can suggest a better time of year to visit / any special events not to be missed, etc!)
Just generally looking for advise...I am thinking of visiting for 4 nights...is this long enough / too long, is there any other towns nearby worth a visit, where is the best area to stop - any recommendations would be appreciated!!
Thanks again

Berdia Posted: Sat March 25, 2006 10:58 PM UTC
I know this is a long shot but I wonder if any VT member in Galicia is able to obtain a phone no for the post office in Berdia? - can't find it on the net. I am looking for the family Portos Sande who ran it in the 1980's, specifically their English neice Theresa whom I met in 1987. Many thanks.

Looking for a walking partner Spring 2006 Posted: Tue January 31, 2006 02:14 PM UTC
Hello,
I am an american woman living in France, and I am interested in walking part of the Camino for a week or two sometime this spring. I am trying to connect with other people who might be doing a pilgrimage at the same time. At this point my plans are still pretty flexible. If anyone knows of a good website or other means of getting in touch with fellow travelers, I would surely appreciate it.
Thanks and happy travels....

Apartment Rental Posted: Thu January 26, 2006 12:29 AM UTC
Hello!
My husband and a friend will be arriving in Santiago Feb. 1 and need an apartment for the semester (until mid-July). Can anyone point me in the right direction? Ideally, the apartment would be furnished with bills included (also not too expensive), but I have no idea of how things like this work in Spain... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Gracias,
Shelly

Lift offered Posted: Sat June 25, 2005 08:07 PM UTC
Hi all!
I will drive from Barcelona to Santiago de Compostela on July 8th, leaving at around 15 from Barcelona. I am alone in the car, so that I can offer a lift to anybody smart and talkative who would need it. The itinerary would be through Zaragoza, Burgos, Leon.
If anybody is interested, please contact me at the VT mail or in the forum!
Cheers

Is there a refuge in Bilbao? Posted: Tue June 21, 2005 02:33 PM UTC
I cannot seem to find any info on it on the internet, yet Bilbao is part of Camino del Norte. I would appreciate any help, as I am flying into Bilbao at 9pm and will need a place to sleep until moving to St.Jean Pied-de-Port. If i find a refuge, I would stay an extra day and see the town too.
thanks

April visit Posted: Mon March 14, 2005 03:38 PM UTC
I am visiting Santiago de Compostela for the first time in April. I have no interest in pilgrimmages or religious stuff. I will have a car for a couple of days. What else is there to do/see there? I love good wine and good food and will definitely try some of the VT recommendations for restaurants. Are there wineries? Is the water closeby? How well do people there speak English?
Thanks,
Mark

Trekking South to Seville via Silver Route....... Posted: Sun October 17, 2004 01:07 AM UTC
Hi! I am looking at walking south, from Santiago, to Seville along the old Roman trail called the "Silver-Route". Have you heard of this route and can you provide me with more information about it; or, have you walked it yourself and can provide me with your experiences about it? I am looking at walking along this "Way" in the Spring of 2005. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated...... Thank-You and Happy Travels: -)
