Running Posted: Mon May 5, 2008 08:00 PM UTC
This might sound a little odd but I am a runner and am planning on taking my running shoes on holiday for a little early morning easy running.
I have never been to cuba and wondered whether it would be safe for a lone female to run off the complex or whether I will have to be content with running laps of the hotel where I am staying, The Blau Costa Verde?
If anyone could offer any insight that would be most appreciated.
Thanks

Holguin - baseball Posted: Tue September 18, 2007 10:06 AM UTC
I'm in Holguin from 22 October to 1 November - could anyone tell me if there are any games, friendlies, charity games, warm-up games, junior games etc to watch during this time. I know the main league doesn't start until November but I was keen to watch something. Where do I find out about games (ideally in English) and how do I get tickets?
Help would be very much apreciated.
Regards
Tom

Looking for a friend from Guardalavaca Posted: Sun April 22, 2007 04:14 PM UTC
I am trying to contact Roy or freddie from the diving school and the ocean paradise catamaran, before i visit again in May and was wondering if anyone who is visiting guardalavaca could pass on a message, i have unfortunately lost his email address.
Its a small resort so the likelihood of bumping into Roy or freddie on a trip is highly likely. I would be very grateful.

Is there a difference between the "bungalows" and the "villas"?
My friend and I are going to in March - ANY helpful hints - or things you MUST bring with you would be VERY helpful.
Thank you so much!!!

Travelling with kids to Banes Posted: Tue February 13, 2007 11:24 AM UTC
Hi,
I was wondering about eating in Banes. We are a family of four and will be visiting Banes for a wedding. has anyone had experience? We are hardy travellers but have been told that it's pretty hard to get food in Banes to feed a family.

Swimming with Dolphins age limit Posted: Mon February 5, 2007 10:18 AM UTC
I have just read that you have to be 12 to swim with dolphins which we are very disappointed about as our daughter is 10. She is a very strong swimmer. How strict is this age limit? If she isn't able to swim, how close do you get to the dolphins in the boat? Any insight would be very welcome.

where to stay Posted: Tue May 16, 2006 03:35 PM UTC
I've been to Holguin two times and stayed at four star hotels both times. i loved the resorts but i must admit i love the city of Holguin much more. i am planning to go again and i am looking for a place to stay the closest possible to the city. what is the clsest resort to the city and how long does it take to get there? because last time i've spent nearly $200 to travel back and forth. Also has anyone here stayed at the Pernik hotel, or other small ones in the city? please describe if it is worth to try it out. i'm not too picky about food or conditions as long as its clean safe and i can sleep at night and not die of food poisoning. what would you suggest for the purpose of staying in the city but with a planned trip so that rules out casa particulares.

How about shopping near Holguin? Posted: Fri April 21, 2006 07:00 AM UTC
Where can a tourist buy items of clothing? I am very keen to buy some Cuban shirts and would also like to get a couple of their summer weight suits. Can these be purchased locally? What is the nearest town or city to shop for these and local crafts etc. Does anyone know how the prices compare with what we pay in Canada?

I've read through the 34 pages about Cuba but still can't decide what is best, but did notice that you were at hand to give advice.
The gifts we bring who should we give them to?
Would you advise us to hire a van to get around (there are 6 of us)
Where is the best place to swim with Dolphins?.
Best eating places in Holguin.
Many thanks
