Beach rentals Posted: Mon June 29, 2009 08:51 PM UTC
Hello,
I read on another Web site that on the beach near Valencia (wherever the bus drops you off, I assume) you can rent chairs, and buy food/drink... is this still true, and if it is about how much are the chairs, and are they generally secure? I'll most likely be alone, so I don't want to avoid going in the water afraid my bus pass will get stolen!
Thanks!

September happenings Posted: Tue May 26, 2009 12:41 PM UTC
Hello!
I'm going to visit a friend of mine in Italy in September and want to also visit Valencia. Are there any festivals or other special events going on? I don't know yet if I'm going to visit Italy or Spain first, so any information will be very helpful.
Thanks!

Summer Photography Course Posted: Fri April 24, 2009 02:30 PM UTC
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of any photography workshops running over the summer. I fancy the idea of visiting Valencia for 10days, and taking a course for a week.
Suggestions please! :)

How can I get from Valencia to the Ricardo Tormo Circuit?? Posted: Wed March 18, 2009 09:49 PM UTC
Hi, I'm an Italian girl and I'm planning an holiday in Valencia. During my journey there will be the Superbike World Championship at Ricardo Tormo. I will be staying in an hotel at the center of Valencia and I really really don't know how to get to the Circuit in Cheste. I've search the Internet and I've found Bunol bus services and some Renfe regional train that can take me to Cheste. There is any other way to get STRAIGHT to the Circuit? Thanks a lot!!

Need to Find a Gym!! Posted: Thu February 5, 2009 02:25 PM UTC
Hey Again,
I recently posted another topic about getting to Valencia and such. Now I'm here and having a great time! But now I have another dilemma.
I am going to the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia and from what I see, their gym facilities are not that great, and I'm really itching to work out and work off all the good food I've eaten lately. Does anyone know of a good gym just to casually be able to workout a few times a week? Also, having it be somewhat close to the university area would be a plus, though I don't mind a light jog on my way to the gym. Any recommendations would be most helpful. Thanks!

Studying Abroad in Valencia Posted: Fri January 9, 2009 08:45 PM UTC
Hey Everyone,
I will be studying abroad for 6 months in Valencia at Universidad Politecnica de Valencia and leaving in a couple of weeks. Though I have been assigned a mentor, it's not really working out and someone recommended that I try asking my questions here.
I will be arriving with 2 large suitcases and a carry-on. For the first couple of nights while I look for an apartment, I will be staying at the Purple Nest Hostel on La Plaza Tetuan. Does anyone know the best and somewhat most convenient mode of transportation to get there from the airport? I was considering the metro, but with so much luggage it may be a bit of a pain. Then again, maybe I'm wrong.
Also, if anyone is familiar with the university campus/area, let me know because I would have a lot of questions for you. I would have some good questions like what kinds of banks are in the area. Their website does not provide too much practical information.
So if anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it.

Car parking Posted: Sun August 17, 2008 12:33 PM UTC
Hello all,
We have, perhaps, chosen the worst time to try to park in Valencia-Grand Prix week. However, we arrive on Thursday 21st Aug and are there for four nights.
Can anyone suggest an out-of-the-way parking place?
We are staying in the centre but don't mind having to catch a bus to where we are parked.
Many thanks

Valencia Airport to Station Posted: Thu August 7, 2008 12:08 PM UTC
7 of us including kids and cases! are arriving by hire car at Valencia airport at 7:30 on the 16th and want to catch the Valencia train to Barcelona at 8:35.. which would be the best/easiest way. When I looked on various sites they said it would be about 15euros by taxi so obviously 30euros for 2 taxis but when I contacted one of the taxi firms by email www.taxivalencia.com they quoted 30euros each taxi ie 60euros for the two..
can anyone help with some suggestions..
Thanks

Is our hotel in the right location? Posted: Tue August 5, 2008 11:17 AM UTC
Going for a long weekend in Valencia, in September. Have a group of friends booked into the Beatriz Rey Don Jaime Hotel which is in the Avenida Baleares.
However, will we be too far from the centre, nightlife, restaurants, etc?
If so, can anyone recommend another hotel nearer to the "action"! Along the same price...we're currently paying 95 Euros each.
Thanks

a good hotel for a single person with good access to the beaches (Malverossa, El Saler transport) Posted: Thu July 31, 2008 12:21 PM UTC
Hi, I have heard that Malverossa beach is the most popular in Valencia. I am planning to stay in August 7-10 days in Valencia. It will be a summer holliday so I would like to spend most of the time on the beach - swimming in the sea, but I also want to sea more of Valencia beautiful architecture. I would like to stay in a hotel close to a clean beach in Valencia, where I can also find some link towards "Yellow bus" for El Saler beach and access to a public transport to the old city of Valencia. I need a room that is not more than 70 Euros per day... is it possible to find?

Reasonably priced hotel near Avenida del Saler Posted: Wed July 30, 2008 01:27 PM UTC
Hi, I'm looking for a reasonably priced hotel near the Ciutat de la Justicia (within about 10 mins walking). I'll be visiting for 5 days in October, most of the hotels I've tried are either booked out already or are very expensive. Just wondered if anyone has local or insider info that I'm missing as I don't know the area at all and would appreciate your tips. Many thanks, Anne Marie

Madrid To Valencia and back Posted: Tue July 29, 2008 04:41 AM UTC
Hi ppl,
I would be reaching Madrid on Sunday noon and will want to go to Valencia directly. Which would be the ideal option from Madrid Intl Airport.
Also my return flight back home fro Madrid would be at 7am. on 5th. When should i leave Valencia to reach the airport safely? Should i have a night halt at Madrid on 4th or can i get some overnight options?
Please let me know of some decent hotel/motel close to Feria Muestrario Internacional de Valencia.
Thanks

Valencia cf Posted: Tue July 22, 2008 09:16 PM UTC
We are staying in Valencia for 4 nights next week and apart from 1 day when we go to Villarreal for the match with Liverpool we will be in and around the city. We would like to see Valencias stadium on one of the days - do they offer stadium tours? If so can we go on any day or is it open only on certain days? Will Valencia be playing any friendly games at home next week or is it too early as I think they have only just returned to training?
On the other days we will probably mix a little sight seeing with a beach trip but on the whole it should be a relaxing trip in the sunshine!
Any suggestions on what is not to be missed would be welcome - not along the lines of museums or too much culture though please :)

Valencia for 2 days Posted: Thu July 10, 2008 09:22 PM UTC
Hi,
My husband & I are planning a brief visit to Valencia and we are trying to decide on how long to stay. We are thinking of staying for 2 days, before moving on to our next destination. However, I want to make sure that we'll have enough time to see the sights and get a feel for the city. (Ideally, we'd stay longer, but that will have to be next time)
Will 2 days be enough? What do you recommend we see in that time?
Thank you

Quality Central Hotel with Pool? Posted: Thu July 10, 2008 01:29 PM UTC
Hi
As we're going to Valencia next week and it's 30 degrees I think we should maybe choose a hotel with a pool even if small. I liked the look of the Vincci hotels but they don't have one.
Can anyone give any recommendations for a 4/5* in a convenient tourist location that has one?
Ideally I would like a good price to include buffet breakfast.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Should I stay in Torrent? Posted: Thu July 3, 2008 05:24 PM UTC
Hi,
I'm staying in Valencia for 4 nights before I travel up to Benicassim music festival at the end of July, and am looking for a cheap hotel with a swimming pool for my friend and I to relax at before the festival begins. I've found two so far, Hotel Vora Fira and Hotel Lido in Torrent. The Lido looks like the better option to me, but just wondered what Torrent was like as an area? We aren't too fussed about going out to bars every night, but I just wanted to know what the surroundings are like, and whether it would be a reasonable place to stay for a few nights. I've read that it's about 20 minutes by bus into Valencia city centre, which sounds good. I don't want to arrive and find that the hotel is right in the middle of an industrial centre or something, so any help would be great. If Torrent is not a good bet, what is hotel Vora Fira like?
Cheers.
Tom.

Euro 2008 Final in Valencia Posted: Fri June 27, 2008 06:03 PM UTC
Hi,
Luckily I'm going to be in Valenicia this Sunday, does anyone know if the Euro 2008 final is going to be shown on some sort of big screen open to the public in the city.
I'm sure the atmosphere and event will be great experienced in a bar, but a big public gathering could be even better.
Thanks

Albufera Boat Trip with a wheelchair ? Posted: Thu June 26, 2008 01:39 PM UTC
Hello,
me and my buddy are planning to stay 7 Days in Valencia next week,
I am sitting in a wheelchair and Valencia was deeply recommended for being wheelchair friendly and until now i dont expect any problems in getting anywhere in the city, but i've got no plan how to get conviniently to albufera.
Can i simply get a taxi who drives me out there ? I think yess , but what about the return ?
Anyway we would prefer a boat trip but how big would this boats be ? Enough space for a manual wheelchair?
Is there a possibility to rent a small boat just for 2 or 3 persons for an affordable price ?
Where could i rent one ?
thank you very much in advance for your answers
greets

Which part of the city? Posted: Sat June 21, 2008 03:40 PM UTC
Hi there,
I'm coming to Valencia for two weeks in July, I've found a few nice apartments and I'm about to book one. But before making the choice I'd like to ask you for some advice -- which parts of the city would you recommed? I'm thinking of a place which would be relatively close to restaurants, cafes and the center of the city. I wouldn't like to end up in a residential area in the suburbs where lights go off after 10pm and the streets are totally empty.
But it also has to be safe and not too noisy.
Also, is it difficult to find a parking space in the street? Or should I look for an apt with a garage?
Here are some locations I'm considering:
-Av. Cesar Giorgeta
-Calle de Recaredo
-Calle Gen. Urrutia
-Canovas, near Jardin del Turia.
Thanks.
