| Cuba | Shall I go to Cuba? Posted: Wed May 14, 2008 07:21 AM UTC
Hello,
I want to realize my Cuba dream that I postponed for years because of the high flight costs, although I travel to many countries every summer, especially before Castro passes away. I searched, and the cheapest Istanbul-Havana return flight is Aeroflot from mid July to 3rd August, 890 Euro, which is still very expensive for a person who does not earn Euro from a developing country. I reserved it today and have only one week to think and decide to buy it with that price. 1. Is there any possibility to fly cheaper? 2. The ones who have been and dear locals: I will highly appreciate any info/tips to pass beyond the isolation between tourists and locals/local places and prices. 3. Normally I travel one month to several neighboor countries every summer, but since Cuba is an island and I don't want to pay for other flights, I plan to make it 3 weeks. What do you think? 4. Do you think it worths for such an expensive ticket? 5. As a socialist believer, what can I take there to give locals (things those are not expensive for me but valuable for them)? 6. Any recommendations to experience the real socialism there? 7. I speak no Spanish :( Thanks a lot. Alper |

| Cuba | All inclusives and travelling around Posted: Tue May 13, 2008 10:06 AM UTC
Hi, my friend and I are hoping to go to Cuba in July. we are thinking of booking an all inclusive, probably in Guadelevaca but we only intend on using it to chill out for the first couple of days, we then want to travel around the rest of the country. Has anyone used all inclusives this way? How easy is it to travel from Guadelevaca to other places such as Santiago?

| Cuba | Summer Holidays Posted: Mon May 12, 2008 09:40 PM UTC
We have our vacation booked for July 14 to 24 and are looking for a place to go in Cuba. I would like to know what the weather is like as I do not like very muggy weather. Is it nice to go to the beach during July? We would like a nice beach and want a relaxing time. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

| Cuba | Getting from Holguin or Havana to Kingston. Posted: Sat May 10, 2008 12:41 AM UTC
Hi everyone.
My girlfriend and I are going to Guardalavaca Holguin for two weeks in June and would love to visit Kingston Jamaica, even for just a day or so whilst we are there and wondered if anyone has done this trip and could help us out with any advice on the best way to do it. We are going to Havana for a few days and I am guessing that is a better starting point than Holguin as we can't seem to find anything on the web which departs from and returns to Holguin. Thanks. Chris. |

| Guardalavaca | Running Posted: Mon May 5, 2008 08:00 PM UTC
This might sound a little odd but I am a runner and am planning on taking my running shoes on holiday for a little early morning easy running.
I have never been to cuba and wondered whether it would be safe for a lone female to run off the complex or whether I will have to be content with running laps of the hotel where I am staying, The Blau Costa Verde? If anyone could offer any insight that would be most appreciated. Thanks |

| Havana | Beach in Havana !!!! which one is the best and less crowded. Posted: Sat April 26, 2008 06:26 PM UTC
Hi dear VT's
I'll be going to Havana in 2 weeks (Club Atlantico in playa del este) by myself.. and i was wondering if i did the right choice. are these beachs nice, clean ?? I choose Club Atlantico because of the good review on tripAdv, and that i want to be closer to La havana without missing the beach. I'm 29 male, and I'm going to Cuba alone to relax (after 6 months of heavy snowfalls in Montreal, I can't take it anymore ;-)) is it better to go to Varadero or Cayo Largo ??? Thanks for your comments |

| Havana | Can anyone advise me on what currency I should take with me to Cuba next week? Posted: Sat April 26, 2008 03:13 PM UTC
Hi, I will be travelling to Cuba next week and am not sure what currency is best to take with me. I have been advised here in the UK to take Euros and not to take travellers cheques. I have also heard that sterling is also accepted??? I have heard from some people that you can get money from the ATM machines as long as your cards are not affiliated with the US. Can anyone clarify for me?
Many thanks. |

| Cuba | Turkey-Cuba cheap flight? Posted: Tue April 15, 2008 10:23 AM UTC
Hello,
Travelling to Cuba is my dream and I really want to go there before Castro passes away. Does anyone know what is the cheapest way to fly there from Turkey? The cheapest one in international system is Air France costs 1200 Euros. I don't mind what I will spend there for weeks, but the flight cost is too much for me. Thanks Alper |

| Cuba | US citizen to CUBA Posted: Wed April 9, 2008 01:11 AM UTC
My friend and I are planning on traveling to Cuba in June. Are plans are as follows: Fly from Los Angeles to Bahamas. From the Bahamas fry to Cuba for a 7 nights then return back to the Bahamas. From there we will go to Curacao via Miami then Curacao to Aruba for a few more nights, and then back to Los Angeles. My questions are ...
1. Are there any cheap flights I can book, FROM THE U.S, that goes from Bahamas to Cuba? I have searched CUBALINDA.COM and a roundtrip flight is going for $350 USD 2. When arriving to the Bahamas I will receive an entry stamp, when I leave to Cuba, Ill receive a departing stamp. Then when I return back to Bahamas Ill have another stamp enter. Will this create any problems when entering back in the US ? Will I be questioned? If anyone has anyway of us traveling to Cuba from the US please feel free let us know. Any advice is helpful. Thanks! |
