Birmingham Accommodation
Posted: Sat July 11, 2009 09:00 PM UTC
Hello,

I am flying to Birmingham early next year to watch the LIVE Stictly Come Dancing.

http://www.strictlycomedancinglive.co.uk/default.asp?contentID=644

The show will take place at the "LG Arena at the NEC". Could someone recommend some B&Bs which are within walking distance from this Arena. I don't have to worry much about transport after the show.

Thanks

Birmingham Need information for travelling
Posted: Wed July 8, 2009 07:44 PM UTC
I need some help. My auntie will travel to Birmingham next month. (not me). She wants to visit some Vietnamese temples within the Bimringham area.

Please kindly tell me the name of the Vietnamese temples as well as its address.

Besides, I want to visit a friend in a building calls West Point.
Do you know how can I make up the whole address.

I want to go to somehwere like Harbourne Road in Edbaston. Please also help me to make up the whole address.

If not, just the Vietnamese temple is ok.
*hence, webmaster please do not delete my message*

We are flying Ryan Air out of Birmingham Intl. Airport. The train stops at Birmingham Airport and Birmingham Intl. Airport. Are they the same? I can buy a ticket to either on the website. Which should I choose?

Birmingham Transferring at Birmingham Airport (BHX)
Posted: Tue April 7, 2009 11:41 AM UTC
Hi!

I am wondering whether it is feasible to transfer between a Ryanair flight and a FlyBe flight at Birmingham international with two hours between landing and departure of the next flight. Bear in mind I will have to collect my luggage from the Ryanair flight, and I am a non-EU passport holder, so that will also take longer. Check-in at FLybe will also take time, given that I have to have my visa checked and passport details entered. Should I just be on the safe side and book the next flight, which is 6 hours later? I have never flown through Birmingham before.

Thanks!

Birmingham Football Beer & a Curry on a Sunday in Brum!
Posted: Tue August 26, 2008 10:53 AM UTC
Hi Guys

Will be visiting Birmingham on the Sunday the 7th for a night. 4 mid 20's lads on the beer.
Were stopping in a Travelodge in the city centre (broad st) and will be visiting the NEC between 6.30 and 9.30 for a football masters event.

Can you advise a couple of good pubs to visit in the day near broad st... also best way to get two and from the NEC?
Lastly after the football we thought it would be rude not to try the famous midlands curry can anyone recomend a good Indian Restaurant (bearing in mind its gonna be 10pm by the time we get there) and maybe somewhere decent thats open late on a sunday for a night cap?

Thanks

Hello All,

I want to go to North Pakistan + Azad Kashmir between last week of Dec & end of Jan 2008. If anybody else is going alone like me, we can go together and can have a nice time.

My main stay will be in Mirpur (Azad Kashmir) in my home town but I am planning to explore North of Pakistan ... Muree, Kaghan, Naran, Saiful Malook, Shogran.

I am flexible and can change the dates/places to visit if my companion wants to see different places.

Please get back soon, I want to fly asap before my holidays run out. I am flying from Birmingham to Islamabad .. again, can arrange it so that it suits both of us ...
Thanks

Birmingham Pubs/bars/clubs - 'off the beaten track', please...
Posted: Sun August 19, 2007 05:20 PM UTC
Hello, I'm looking for suggestions about good pubs/clubs/bars in B'ham. Now, my idea of good is not a huge venue, non-commercial, non-chain, with preferably Indie music (no House, Rave, Trance etc.). As far as pubs go, I'm NOT looking for a traditional English pub; I prefer somewhere with unusual decor (maybe some black and white photos on the walls, that kind of thing), somewhere more artistic and alternative. Live bands, jazz sessions welcome. Thanks, if anyone can help! :)

Birmingham Birmingham airport to Hampstead ( North of London)
Posted: Wed July 25, 2007 04:25 PM UTC
Hi all ,
I will be arriving into birmingham in the next few days and have to goto Hampstead - North London. I checked online car rentals and auto transmission cars even for a 2 day rental are costing about 150 pounds which is quite a lot ( canadian licence holders cant drive manual transmission). I have two 30kg bags and a big handbag so lugging them off to a train station would be difficult.

Are there any point to point vans which run from the birmingham airport to hampstead. Something like the blue vans in toronto and most US big cities. Any suggestions on how to get to north of london would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Birmingham Swimming and samba - need help finding both!!
Posted: Thu May 10, 2007 03:53 PM UTC
Me again - I've now been in Brum for two months and have been trying in vain to find swimming pools and samba dance classes.

First, swimming - I would like to go every evening but the closest pool to my Edgbaston flat seems to be Harborne and that is quite a walk - I already have a 45 minute walk back from Moor Street Station every evening and don't fancy walking to Harborne and back as well!! Anyone know of any pools that I can reach between Moor Street station and Edgbaston (near the reservoir) Any without going too far out of my way?? (I don't drive). I asked at tourist information and they said there were no pools near the city centre, which seems wierd...

Also, I have found lots of salsa dance classes but no samba, and I want to learn samba (dancing not percussion). I am a complete beginner, can anyone help??

I've got to go and work in Birmingham all day Saturday (12th May), so will be going to New Street Station. My wife and 13 year old daughter are with me, so they want to wander around. Other than the usual retail therapy, any suggestions as to what there is to do around that area?

Thanks
