Barbados Chantours/Other Tour Companies
Posted: Fri July 21, 2006 07:58 AM UTC
Hi

Has anyone travelled from Barbados to the Grenadines with Chantours (or other travel companies) for a day trip?

I would like to pop over to St Vincent or Mustique or any other island for a day trip (or possibly overnight). I do not want the hassle of doing this independently and would prefer to do an organised trip.

I would be grateful for any information such as prices and what is included in trips, recommended tour companies etc.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Barbados National Lampoon in Barbados -- HELP!
Posted: Wed July 19, 2006 10:06 PM UTC
I got a great deal to Barbados in September with my husband (35) and my daughter (1). My mother (65) heard about it and is now joining us along with my grandmother (85). Then my sister (43) thought my daughter would need company and so she and her husband (45), son (8) and daughter (2) will also join us. My brother (38) is single and thought a trip with the family would be fun. Then my mother-in-law (65) caught wind of the trip and is also coming along.
This is the first time to Barbados for all of us. We will be coming in mid-September for a week. We're staying at the Accra Hotel. Any comments or information on the hotel and the area it's in?
Can anybody suggest things to do? We range from ages 1 to 85. (yes those were ages in the brackets.)
What might be a good way for us to get around? We'll probably end up traveling in a pack of 8 adults, 1 child and 2 toddlers. We'd take up a whole bus just by ourselves...If we rent cars we'd probably need to rent three cars and none of us has ever driven on the left side before.
What to do!?!? All suggestions welcomed.
Good thing we're a close family. :)
Does anyone know if Harrison's Cave is really going to be closed?

Barbados Barbados First Week of September (1-8)
Posted: Tue July 4, 2006 01:06 AM UTC
Hi!

I'm reading that June-Dec. is the rainy season, but looking online it seems that historically, there is just under 6 inches of rain in September...is this a bad time to go? Is it still sunny for a good part of the day? Also, how often do hurricanes hit Barbados?

Also, has anyone stayed at the Allamanda Beach Hotel in Christ Church? I've read ok to mediocore to rotten reviews...the price is right, but I'm a little nervous. Thanks so much for your time!!

best,
Margot

Barbados Any hidden gem lobster joints in Barbados?
Posted: Sat June 24, 2006 04:15 PM UTC
We've had luck in the Caribbean before w/reasonably priced lobster dinners that tasted fantastic. Are there a couple "must" seafood restaurants in Barbados? We love lobster, shrimp, scallops & conch! :)

Any great restaurants near the southern area, as this is where we're staying?

Thanks,
Dawn

Barbados Going to Sunbury Plantation and Crane Beach for a good price
Posted: Sat May 27, 2006 05:20 PM UTC
I am interested in going to Sunbury Plantation and Crane Beach in St. Philip, Barbados and I was wondering if there is a cheap way to get there and back. I was quoted $80RT for a taxi and I don't want to pay that much, and tour companies don't seem to do the plantation and the beach together.

Does anyone have suggestions, for how I can get there by bus, shared car or any other means or information about a combination tour that I can take?

Thanks
