rental fees Posted: Wed June 24, 2009 01:43 AM UTC
My family and I are going on our first cruise in August and could use a few pointers. For one I would like to know how much the rental fees for the rafts and floating devices are (we are traveling with our 3 kids). Also do the drink prices differ from the ones on the ship itself and how do we pay for them?

cruise line visit to Atlantis resort Posted: Tue May 12, 2009 11:29 PM UTC
Is it easy enough to take a taxi from the port to Atlantis rather than do the cruise excursion? I want to visit the water park, but my family would just look around the resort.

Cheapest city to fly out of?? Posted: Fri May 1, 2009 03:32 AM UTC
Hello,
My sister and I had planned to take the Discovery Cruise line as a ferry to Freeport; however, we are thinking maybe we should fly instead. Which city would be the cheapest to fly out of along the eastern coast of Florida? Also, which airlines offer the cheapest flights?
Thanks,
O

Riding a scooter from Prince George Wharf to Atlantis Posted: Mon April 27, 2009 05:24 PM UTC
Hi, is this possible? To rent a scooter from Prince George Wharf and driving it to the Atlantis. My husband and I love to rent scooters to tour islands on "our time" and I would love to visit the Atlantis and I am curious about how long it would take to do this. I would love any feedback!!! Have a great day!

Cruise ship security?? Posted: Sat April 18, 2009 05:23 AM UTC
Hello,
Never boarded a cruise ship. We are taking the discovery cruise ship to the GBI. Does the security compare to airlines in the US? You know...can I bring a lighter, fingernail clippers, bottle of water, those things that freak out airport security. Is the screening the same...send things thur x-ray and me through scanner? I have metal in my knee and airport security is a nightmare. Always pulled over for a full body scan! Are there scans the same?
Thanks

Atlantis Resort Meal Plans Posted: Sat April 18, 2009 12:19 AM UTC
We are planning a trip in June but are confused about the meal plans. Different web sites indicate different restaurants under the regular or gourmet plans. Our main question is if eating at other than a buffet, is there a special menu at the restaurants for those opting for the meal plan or is it a choice of any one entre' from their regular menu? Also, for anyone that has used a meal plan do you have any advice as to best times or particular restaurants to concentrate on using? One more question on the meal plans, is the charge for the meal made to your room then deducted at checkout or no indication made on your bill at all whether you used it or not? Thank you in advance for your reponse.

CHeap accomodation Posted: Wed April 1, 2009 09:29 AM UTC
Hi all,
Anyone know of some cheap accommodation on Nassau. Budget hotel, hostel or guest house. Even a small appartment, anything will do. Is camping an option?
We are on a trip around the world and have a 1 week stay planned in may.
Any ideas. Our budget lies around 30 euros per night but we could go up a bit.
Thanks in advance

transportation Posted: Tue March 10, 2009 07:14 AM UTC
We were scheduled to go to Cancun, but with all the drug war problems, we are mobing to the Bahamas. One of the concerns, we are having is the transportation. I heard very little about buses, only cabs. I have read some reviews that recommends to take the bus, but noone seems to know anything about it. The company we are traveling through has not heard either. Can anyone give us some tips to save money. Are they buses?
Thanks

Hi there,
My husband and I are planning to take a cruise to Nassau from Fort Lauderdale in mid February 2009 as we've never been on a cruise before. We are wondering if we decide to fly back, would that be an option or are there penalties for not taking the return cruise back. Please help.

BAHAMAS: what to do , where to go, one day trip? ahhhh- no idea :) Posted: Sun January 4, 2009 09:01 AM UTC
hey guys
I will come to Miami and suddenly thought of The Bahamas... WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND ME??? I mean which island to see? For how many days? Are those one day trips useful? They go to Nassau and Grand Bahama. Are these places the ones that would offer me nice relaxing sun bath at the sea among the palm trees?
I just wanna see really tropical beach and relax for a day or two.
I will appreciate all your ideas!
thx in advance

Need Blue Lagoon Info Posted: Sat November 29, 2008 02:16 AM UTC
We're taking my 88 year old mother and law on our cruise which will spend 2 days in Nassau, Bahamas. I have previously been to the Blue Lagoon and loved the beautiful relaxing area which included hammocks and relaxing under the palm trees with a lunch included. Can anyone help me find out where I catch the boat to the Blue Lagoon and how much a day trip to the lagoon would be. Are there chairs to use under the palm trees where my mother in law would be comfortable? Thank you. Westshores

Looking for a place to buy baby gear while staying at Atlantis Posted: Wed November 19, 2008 06:57 PM UTC
Can someone tell me if there is a place either on Paradise Island or Nassau to buy baby gear. We are worried that the cribs will not work out for active toddlers that Atlantis supplies and are wondering where we could buy pack and Plays if we need them.
Thanks

Nassau Junkanoo Tickets - New Years 2008 Posted: Tue November 18, 2008 05:28 PM UTC
I've been trying to find out the best place to get advanced tickets for the New Years Day 2008 Junkanoo, but no luck so far. Tajiz.com tells me they no longer sell them. Does anyone know where I might get them? I'm arriving in Nassau on 12/30/2008. Any advice about the event itself would also be appreciated.

Freeport stuff to do Posted: Tue November 4, 2008 04:18 PM UTC
Our cruise ship gets into Freeport early in the morning and I've selected the glass-bottom boat tour with my mother for the morning. The tour ends around noon. What to do after that? Can someone tell me if A)Does the tour end anywhere near the shopping areas or B)if not, does the tour end anywhere near where we can hop a local bus to the shopping area? Dont' want to spend $$$ on taxis...

fast ferry to Bahamas Posted: Thu October 30, 2008 08:48 AM UTC
Hi, we travel to Miami on November 8th, and we'd like to visit Bahamas with a fast ferry, which departures from Ft.Lauderdale and goes to Grand Bahama. This is the web page:
http://www.discoverycruiseline.com/home/respckgdet_OB_1_GR_SPLIT_SE_2_AG_None_ST_SPLIT.html
Does anyone used this transportation and how reliable is this company. I've been searchig in many forums about this ferry line and I didn't find nothing.
Thanks!

Airport Transportation Posted: Fri October 24, 2008 12:07 AM UTC
I've read where the taxi's charge by the person. My party consists of three adults and two children. What would it cost for a taxi from the airport to Atlantis? Atlantis has a shuttle but it is $90 round trip. Looking for something cheaper.
Is there any other method to get from the airport? Bus?

Flight scheduling Posted: Wed October 22, 2008 06:31 PM UTC
If we fly into NAS on US Airways from Charlotte, NC, how much time should we allow to get to get through customs to catch the Cat Island Air flight to Cat Island? We have never been to the Bahamas before, so we don't know the airport or area at all. The flight I'm thinking of booking lands at NAS at 1:42 pm, and the Cat Island Air flight leaves NAS at 3:00pm.
Thanks for any help!

Cruises that depart from Nassau Posted: Wed August 20, 2008 07:22 PM UTC
We're interested in finding out if there are any cruises that depart from the Bahamas instead of just visit it as a port of call? We already have a flight to the Bahamas from here in Canada and interested in going on a cruise as well. Any help would be great!
Thanks.

Is it cold in January? Posted: Sun August 17, 2008 10:46 PM UTC
I just booked a trip for my boyfriend and I to go to Grand Bahama Island in early January. What is the average temperature that time of year for that particular island? I've been told that since it's one of the northernmost points of the Bahama island chain that it can be kind of chilly...We're from Minneapolis, Minnesota so anything beats 20 below zero but I would like to know what to expect as far as air and water temp. Thanks.
