I'd like to stay a few days in Doolin and take some boat tours and bus tours. What can anyone recommend as a good central locations/hotel where I can easily walk to the pier, etc? I don't mind walking several km. I don't want to waste money on taxis. I'd love to stay at the Ballinalacken Castle Hotel but can't get an idea on how far it is from the pier, restaurants, etc. Thanx
Hi,
I am getting hopelessly lost in all timetables, trying to find a way to get back to Dublin after Willie Clancy week. I have to be at Dublin airport around 10 Sunday morning. Can anyone help with advice/tip/ride? Thanks.
Hello- Because I waited too long to book, the best I could do to see some of Willie Clancy Week was to book a hotel in Ennis. We'll have a car; how awful will it be to be based that far away? What about coming back in evenings -- how late does it stay light? Are the roads particularly bad? Many thanks! We grow more excited each day.
I'm off to County Clare in august and spending several days in Doolin, I know there are two or three ferry companies serving the Aran Islands but I am unsure as to how far in advance I'd need to book a ferry for a day trip to any of the islands. Is it possible to just turn up on the day or is advance booking required?
Hi- I'm a music professor interested in visiting during Willie Clancy Summer School and also trying to get to Gleesons pub, which, as I understand it, is in west Coore. Can anyone give me tips on either of these? I'm guessing I should have a car. What is the closest I can reasonably hope to stay without spending a fortune>? How big an attraction is Willie Clancy?
I need to know if there is WIFI and/or internet cafe's available in Shannon?
I'm staying at Bunratty and need to work as I'm there.
Are there fresh produce stands? We are vegetarian.
Any good hiking areas?
Family of 4 wishes to take a 1/2 day walking tour of the Burren.
Just looking for some exercise, fresh air,and to learn a bit about the Burren. We are not scientists or mountain climbers. Whom would your recommend:
1. John A. Connolly of BURREN WILD WALKS
2. Tony Kirby of HEART OF BURREN WALKS

I have just booked some cheap flights for me and my wife for her birthday to shannon airport for 2 nights and was wondering where was best to stay. Ennis or Limerick or even shannon. We would like something to explore during the day and we would like somewhere with some nice restuarants and we like a drink so lots of pubs too. Any info would be great.
Thanks.
the night life Posted: Tue October 14, 2008 05:05 PM UTC
Im from the united states and I am going to ireland for a few weeks. One of the places that I am staying at is Ennis and I would like to know what the night life is for my sister (17) and I (20). What is the drinking age? How old do you have to be to get into the bars? Is parking a problem? Or anything that you might think to help us enjoy the night life in Ireland.
Hi, I may be flying into Shannon at 11.10pm on a Friday night and was hoping that someone would have suggestions as to somewhere cheap (hostel?) to stay that I can get to with public transport so late at night.... Thanks!
I am travelling from Shannon to Kilkee. I am a senior and will have two large bags and a carryon so bus would be difficult. Can you recommend a car service that might take me to Kilkee,or Kilrush or even Ennis? Much thanks.
Hi,
I'm a Ireland-lover and after going to Dublin a few times I decided to go to the west. I'm going to stay (most likely) in a hostel in Lahinch. I'd like to hear your opinion on the safety in these hostels (I'm a young woman), things to do in that area (nature, history, pubs, cultural, anything will do,..) and how to get there from the airport preferably by public transport as I'm on a tight budget and can not rent a car because I don't habe a license.
Hi,
I booked a Altantic View B&B in Liscannor.
Actually the adress says Liscannor, but information I have read on their website states that the B&B is 3 miles from Liscannor and 4 miles from Doolin, has anyone stayed there or you know where it is and how best to reach it?
I am also wondering if someone could tell me how to get there from Dublin by public transportation (bus since we will be travelling on a tight budget).
Accomodation Posted: Sat March 1, 2008 03:41 PM UTC
Hi,
I'm planning with my cousin, to do a trip in April for a week, and we are looking for an accomodation in Shannon, near Airport, for 1 night (25 th April). If someone can help us...
Have tried to email Mcgann's B&B about 3 times as I have heard it is great but they have not replied, and am having trouble finding any other B&B's which are open at the beginning of March. The ones I have contacted all advise they are not open at that time of the year. I am looking for somewhere within walking distance to Doolin centre for the 8th and possibly the 9th March 2008. Does any one have any suggestions.
My wife and I are flying into Shannon at the end of February for four days. We have a car for these four days and are wanting to tour around the areas of interest.
We appreciate there is isnt a lot to do in Shannon so Can anyone recommend places to go/places to stay in and around Limerick etc. and what will the weather be like?
Hello, I'm looking for a nice but cheap hotel near the Shannon airport. Roomex.com seems to have great rates, but I'm nervous about purchasing that way and then showing up with no room or bad results. Has anyone used roomex.com and if so, did you have a good experience?
What is the best way to get from Shannon Airport to Bunratty Shannon Shamrock? Is there a bus or train that can get me there? I've heard I could hire a taxi but that seems like it could be costly.
Dianne
Less than 3 years ago, my wife and I stayed at the Aranview Hotel and we ate at O'Connor's Pub. The Irish Stew that I had that evening was one of the most delicious meals that I ever had. The menu indicated that the base for the sauce was Guinness. We would like to return for another meal someday, but in the meantime is it possible to get the recipe for the Stew?
Thank you.
Has anyone ever heard of this organization?
We sent the deposit for 8 golfers.
Now no hotel reservations or tee times scheduled.
Even though he sent us our itinerary with dates/times.
Help! Where do we go from here?
My son and I will be in Ennis on 18 Aug 2007 and are currently scheduled to fly home on 19 Aug. I have not been able to locate any scheduled events for that weekend. An Irish friend states that football games are played mostly on Sundays and that a hurling match may also occur on the same day. If there are no events on the 18th and there would be on the 19th, I am willing to change our flight and leave on the 20th (paying a penalty).
Any information to help me make a decision would be greatly appreciated.
My girlfriend & I are going in 3 weeks...flying into Shannon. Will be there for 8 days. Can anyone reccomend some good day trips/staying and driving from Shannon, Kilarney, and any other spots????
