We are travelling to Margarita in March and can't wait. Can anyone tell me which countries we will be flying over to get there, a rough flight path? We wil be flying from London Gatwick and landing at Porlamar.

Also how much is food and drink out there?

Hi All.

My wife and I am going to Isla Margarita in March this year. I have heard that the island is "Duty Free" so apparently it should be much cheaper to buy Digital Camera and Lenses on location instead of bringing the equipmewnt from Denmark. Does anybody have expierences with buying Foto Equipment on Margarita?

hi there! I'll be heading to venezuela in the coming weeks, and am a little worried about the travel advisory regarding crime and weakened safety for tourists, specifically for Margarita Island. Could anyone local to the area, or recent travellers, tell me what the current situation is like and whether they would recommend travel?

I arrive on a cruise ship at 8am on friday 28th dec, cruise ship departs at 6pm that evening. I want to fly over angel falls that day.Is it possible.

We missed out on the trip to Angel Falls in February but are returning to the island in January and I remember reading something about a day trip over to see them. Anyone that can share some insight on this trip would be appreciated. I seem to remember seeing a cost of @ $140 USD p.p.

Myself, my husband and two male friends are staying on Isla margarita over christmas and the new year (2007 - 2008)
I would like some information on what festivities will be taking place, and how the people celebrate the new year. i have heard there are some casinos, are any of theses "james bond" dress type code?? Would they be open NYE.

We have just booked a 14 night holiday to Margarita for March next year. Before we booked it we had never heared of the island and struggled to find it on a map which made us want to go more!

Where are the best places to eat/drink? We are staying at the Playa Caribe Hotel I think, has anybody been? what is it like? What are the locals like? What are the typcal torist things to buy?

Any info we would love.

From initial research it appears that the beaches on this island have a great deal of surf and wind. What might be the best resort or area to stay for calm water and good snorkeling?

I'm looking into alternatives to all-inclusive resorts for coordinating a wedding on Margarita. If anyone has information about apartment rentals and/or inexpensive travel to/from Toronto, I'd really appreciate it. The group size will be at least 30 people.

Has anyone taken the Aeropostal Airlines flight from Miami to the island. This was to only way that I could find to get to the island from the America's, flying that is. Its about 6-8 guys, late 20's and early 30's. So we dont want to stay at a cheap hotel, but we dont want to stay at the most expensive one cause there will be no younger people, we want to stay where the party is! but at a nice hotel...any help!?!?!

Hi there, I stayed at Laguna Mar a while ago + at night, before the adult show, they had a mini disco for kids. They played the same songs every night + one of them sounded like it was about "chocolate". Does anybody know what the correct title + artist is please? I love that song!!! Thanks!!!

We are travelling to Margarita in June and i'm trying to find out which vaccinations we need. We're planning on going to Angel Falls, if that makes any difference?

Any help gratefully received as all the sites state different ones - i'm starting to panic because i've got a list of seven now - Diptheria, Hep A, Tetanus, Typhoid, Polio, Yellow Fever & Malaria.

Do you have somebody, some experience with company "Expediciones Dearuna". They are in Ciduad Bolivar and they do it mostly expeditions to Canaima.I am planning go ther with the company.
