i would like it to be a single room in a flat-share with students.

I´m going to Venezuela in the beginning of August this year, and I am planning to get to Los Roques.
I would like to know the best way to get to los roques from caracas, and if it´s best (or possible) to arrange a vacation package in caracas or to get there on our own....
Any kind of information on those islands would help me a lot!!!

I heard that venezuela has a "new" currency. I am not sure since when or if its true.I am traveling soon and have some "old" currency, by old I mean from about 4 years ago..Will they still take it? do I have to exchange it at the bank for the new kind?

We are going to Margarita this December for our honeymoon. I wondered if anyone would be able to help - we are hoping to go to Los Roques for a couple of nights and dive there - but I can't find any informaiton on flights from Porlemar to Los Roques, anyone help? We also want to dive from Margarita, perhaps Los Frailles or other local sights - can anyone reccommend a good dive school? We also want to do a trip to Angel Falls - any tips for who to book with? Finally - what is it like to drive on Margarita? Is it easy to hire a car - can they generally be hired anywhere or just through the airport?

Is anyone familiar with the location of an English-speaking school, Academy Las Delicias, located on Avenida Las Delicias up the mountain past the zoo, circ 1963-1965? I believe it may have been located in an old Gomez mansion.

Los Roques sound really nice (but expensive). Can you recommend some other good snorkeling sites in the country? I'd be especially interested in snorkeling sites that I can get to straight from the beach instead of by boat. Thanks!

A friend and I were hoping to enjoy our first night in Venezuela with a night out in Caracas. Any recommendations on good/safe nightlife areas and are there any cheap hotels in the area? Safety sounds like a big concern, even when using taxis. What would you recommend? Thanks!

We're now arriving to Punto Fijo the first week of August.

I have heard good things about Posada Guamanchi and Posada Suiza and I'm thinking about staying at one of them.
Does anyone know the current price for a single room?
What is your oppinion about the posadas?
Is there another nice budget posada that you can recommend?

We are a group of two travellers, planning to make a trip to South America from the 10th September 2008 to the 15th January 2009.

We are flying to Venezuela and leaving from Rio de Janeiro. Our stay in the whole of South America will be longer than 90 days, however we will stay in a single country for less than 90 days travelling from one place to the next.

We are concerned that upon entering Venezuela we will not have proof that we will be leaving the country in less than 90 days (our return ticket home is 4 months later).

Should this be a problem?

I need to go to Cuidad Guayana from Caracas. Will I be able to do this during the day or is it a overnight thing? Is it possible to go to like Cuidad Bolivar or Maturin by day and then use a smaller bus line to complete the trip. I would like to avoid night travel if possible.

I am getting ready to head to Venezuela and my main goal is to spend my bday at Angel Fall. However, I am not sure how to get there, and the travel agencies that I emailed haven't answered yet. Anybody experienced travelling that part of the world? I am leaving onMay the 9th and I will be returning on May the 16th. HELP!!

I'm interested in hiking up Roraima and I'm looking for some suggestions on a guide. I also would like to know what poeple have been paying recently for these excursions. I can get down there on my own so I don't need a tour that includes transportation from Caracas or anything like that. I'm looking for a guide to do the actual trek. I'm mostly interested in the price. I will be traveling with my wife. I'm open to all suggestions.

Does anyone know what is the best and cheapest way how to get to Iquitos(Peru) from Venezuela (could be any spot). So far I see only one option: fly from Venezuela to Iquitos via Lima, which is quite expensive, furthemore it does not seem very reasonable from geographical point of view. ....what about train, bus?

I would like to rent a place,one person,in playa el agua,a 1 bedroom apt or a small house,I was thinking about staying in a hotel at first and asking around when I get into town.I dont want to book something online and find out I paid to much.Is july and aug. a slow time of year on the island?does anyone know what kind if price i will pay per month, and what the weather is like vacationing on the island in july and aug.thats the off season right?thanks for your help patrick
