Departamento del Guairá From Iguazu to Guaira Falls
Posted: Sun June 11, 2006 11:10 AM UTC
Hi !

We'll be at the Iguacu Falls next October and I saw that there is also a beautifull waterfall a bit further north in Pagaruay : Guaira Falls.

On a couple of website, I saw that there might be running boats between Iguacu and Guaira Falls, but apart from that I didn't find any further info on this possible connection.

So the question obviously is : is there indeed a kind of regular boat-connection between those falls or do you know of other ways getting from the one to the other ?

Thanks in advance !

Paraguay From Asuncion to Pedro Juan Caballero
Posted: Tue January 17, 2006 12:46 AM UTC
I am going to PAraguay in May and cannot figure out how to get to Pedro Juan Caballero from Asuncion. Can anyone tell me where I can find bus schedules? I would prefer a direct, comfortable bus, preferable during the day. Also, how do I buy a ticket from the USA? Also, if I choose to buy a plane ticket, are those tiny places safe? Any assistance here would be very much appreciated. Thanks! Rebecca

Paraguay Ciudad del Este
Posted: Thu July 7, 2005 05:37 AM UTC
I want to go to Ciudad del Este next month or in the end of July. I'm going from Bolivia, maybe through Argentina, then to Paraguay.

What I would like to know is the following, What is the visa cost to enter Paraguay for US passport carriers?

I really want to go after reading an article about the scale of the underground or blackmarket in Colors Magazine. Does anyone have any good comments on this, where the majority of the activity is centered? I'm writing my thesis about informality and underground economies in Latin America and wanted to know what I should see while I am there.

Thanks in advance,

Ciudad del Este Visa neede or not
Posted: Fri June 3, 2005 02:43 PM UTC
In Lonely planet, if I am not mistaken, is written that to visit Ciudad del este visa is not required. In the Paraguay embassy in Ottawa they say that for any crossing a tourist needs a visa. Is the info in Lonely Planet old or the Paraguay embassy wants to make some money to pay for the rent of the office? Please let me know what your experience was (is).

Paraguay Visa for Paraguay
Posted: Sat May 28, 2005 03:01 PM UTC
Hello.

I will be transiting through Paraguay from Brazil to Argentina on a tour. The tour company originally told me (Canadian citizen) that I could obtain a transit visa at the border and it wouldn't be necessary to get a tourist visa ahead of time. However, I recently has been advised that this may not be so.

Can anyone advise if it is possible to get a transit visa at the Brazil-Paraguay border?

Thanks.

Paraguay Going from PAraguay to Argentina
Posted: Sat November 13, 2004 06:58 AM UTC
Hola everyone!
I have been to Paraguay twice, and will be returning a third time come December 11th. I will be there for two months. I was an exchange student and mi familia is in San Lorenzo. I have never been to Argentina and would possiably like to go. However as a 21 single female I do not feel it safe (and having a friend who dissapered in Ecuador while traveling alone) or wise to go totally alone. Nor do I think it would be all that fun. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knew of like a travel agency that can arrange something for me in Paraguay or of like a tour thing I can hop on board with. San Lorenzo is a suburb of Asuncion so that would be the easiest departure point. I am also interested in going to Bolivia if anyone has any suggestions for that....

Muchas Gracies

Paraguay The Medical Students' Story continues...
Posted: Wed June 30, 2004 10:54 PM UTC
Does anybody have any suggestions on where to stay in Filadelfia? Keep in mind we have to stay here for over a month and we, unfortunately, are on a students' budget (but we wouldn't say no to air-conditioning ! )

Also ? I get the general idea that missing out Asuncion on our "sites to see" is not a bad idea?

Other areas to visit ?

Cheers !

Paraguay Students in need of advice
Posted: Wed June 30, 2004 10:51 PM UTC
We are 4 medical students from the UK doing an elective in Paraguay.

We land in Rio and eventually have to get to Filadelfia, Paraguay.( via Asuncion?)
Does anyone have bus information and an idea of the journey time?
We were planning on stopping over at the Iguazu Falls.

Is there a good but cheap hotel on the Brazilian side ?
We then hope to cross over to get an Argentinian perspective. Correct me if I'm mistaken? This would be the Puerto Iguazu side?

We would also like to explore the general area.
Is 3 days a good estimation b4 we head to Asuncion ?

Paraguay Asuncion to Iguassu Falls
Posted: Tue March 30, 2004 10:35 PM UTC
My partner and I will be in Asuncion in late April and we are hoping to take a trip to see the Iguassu Falls for 2-3 days. Can someone provide me with some information as to how to best go about it? I assume the best method is to take a bus. How long does it take? How much does it cost? What town do we take a bus to? And then from there?

We won't have visas to enter Brazil (at least to stay overnight) but can enter Argentina without a problem. Taking this into account, where would be the best place to view the falls? And where would be the best place to stay for 2-3 nights? Nothing too pricey but nothing really cheap either.

Any suggestions for other things to experience in the way of culture, or see/do in the Iguassu area? Restaurants? Tours?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
