Nearest Hospital and historical sites Posted: Tue November 4, 2008 02:09 PM UTC
Hi everyone, has anybody out there been to Hammamat and needed hospital treatment ?, we are planning to go in August and have a child with a medical condition so always like to know what the local healthcare is like.
Secondly any recommendations for sites of historical interest nearby without having to go on extra excersions which bump the price up.
Lastly, hotel Fourati... any really recent visits and if so what is is like this year.
Thanks all

Anybody traveling to Hammamet in June/July? Posted: Wed June 18, 2008 11:34 AM UTC
Hi all!
Was just wondering if anyone is traveling to Hamemmet between the 25th of June and 9th of July? I'm due to go on the 25th and was originally supposed to be going with my girlfriend but we split up last week and now she doesn't want to go. So at such short notice the only choice i have is to go with a mate and i just wanted to see if anybody else around our age (24) will be out there to meet so were not bored, on what seems to be a predominately 'couples' holiday.

Dress Code in Tunisia Posted: Mon June 16, 2008 07:54 PM UTC
Hey there! I'm travelling to Hammamet, Tunisia for the first time this year with my boyfriend; we're both 27. Just wondering what to pack, clothes-wise? For example, I have a pair of mid-thigh shorts that I like to wear with a long strappy top for evenings out with heels, does this sound too revealing (ie to go to the discos and bars)? Do tourists tend to cover up in Hammamet by wearing long skirts and trousers all the time, or can we be fairly relaxed? I don't like to wear midriff revealing tops or miniskirts. I just want to ensure that we don't disrespect the local culture or draw too much attention. Is it perfectly normal to wear bikinis on the beach and around the pool? And I hear my boyfriend needs to pack a pair of trousers for restaurants, do I also need to cover my legs? I hope there is someone who knows the evening scene in Hammamet who can advise! Thanks in advance...Jennifer :)

Yasmine Hammamet, Mahdia or MONASTIR?? Posted: Thu September 6, 2007 01:51 AM UTC
My wife and I will be going to Tunisia for a month in mid February. We have already been to this beautiful country in October of 2006. On this occasion we plan on staying for 3 weeks in Sousse and we were hoping to spend the last week in Yasmine Hammamet but a travel agent told me that this area is practically closed down at this time of the year. As a result, we were thinking of going to Mahdia or Monastir. However, I was wondering whether or not these 2 areas have more to offer at the beginning of March!!!
If anyone out there has been to these areas between February 15 and March 15 I would like to heat from you because we are hoping to make our reservations as soon as possible. THANKS.

how to do the 2 day sahara trip? Posted: Fri March 30, 2007 01:49 AM UTC
Hi everyone,
Can someone tell me what is the best way to do the 2-day Sahara trip? I will be staying in Hammamet in May and definitely want to visit the desert. I'm guessing it has to an overnight stay because it's so far from Hammamet? Did anyone take tours from the hotel? What was your mode of transportation? Did you go to Tunis to take a bus/train? Where did you stay once you were there? (Douz, etc.) Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Looking for Someone Posted: Fri August 18, 2006 10:00 PM UTC
Hi, it's more a request than a question, but it's really important. I am looking for someone I lost touch with. His name is Adel and he works in Yasmine Hammamet as a controlor in Medina and as I figured he meets and takes care of some artistic groups who perform on that big square. He could be about 25-27. My friend and I (Bojana and Natasha from Bosnia and Herzegovina)met him there at the end of July 2006. So please if you have any idea how to contact him or if you know him please let me know.

Hi there!
I'm planning to go to Tunisia in the second half of august.
Which place on the tunisian coast do you think is the best: Hammamet, Port El Kantoui, Sousse, Mehdina...? I'm interested first of all in the beauty of see&beach.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

please_help_question Posted: Fri July 14, 2006 01:43 PM UTC
Maybe my question is off thic topic, but I have to ask something unusual!
Last week I came back from Tunisia. It was my second trip to this beautiful country! I really enjoyed in everything in Tunisia: people, food.......
And, as many girls, every night I ve met many Tunisians, but all of it was not serious! And then I met HIM, 2 days before my return to home (to reality:))
We were talking a long long time. He was different from others (without invite to walk to the beach in early morning hours;))and very smart. He ask me number of mobile phone, and called me. But, there was not connection and I didn t see his number on my display! Several times! Maybe, he tought I didn t want to answered the phone! That is why,by this way, I want to ask if anybody on this forum know somebody from Hammamet(we met there) or Grombalia ( he is from grombalia)! I only know his name (Mohamed) and age (25). He is student of arhitecture in Tunis! If anybody can help me, I ll be very very very HAPPY!
Thanx a lot!

Info on Transportation in Tunisia Posted: Sun May 14, 2006 09:57 AM UTC
We are planning to come to Tunisia (Tunis Airport) between the 16th July and the 23rd July 2006. Myself, my wife and out two yound daughters (4 years and the other will be 10 months).
We are planning to stay at the Flora Melia in Hammamet Yasmin.
Questions:
1. What is the best method of transportation from the Airport to the hotel? What are the costs? Is train transportation possible? Or less expensive travel? We will be arriving at around 10pm.
2. What about transportation within Tunisia? We would wish to visit the Aquapark and also Carthageland as well as some ceramic/mosaic/tile factories.
3. Are there any other good places of interest to visit?
Thanks for any info you might have.
Regards,
Claud
