Ile de Jerba First time in Tunisia - any hints and Tips very welcome!!
Posted: Wed January 10, 2007 02:30 PM UTC
Hi There,

Although most of my questions have been answered now by reading the tips on here, as it will be our first trip to Tunisia does anyone have any particular tips to share?
It is a family of 4 going, my bro and I are 26 and 31 and we are all looking for lots of culture but in particular I had hoped to do some snorkelling.
We are going for 1 week to Djerba from 10th March and staying in the Mirimar Palace.

are there any places edspecially good for snorkelling on Djerba?
Is Tunisia/ Djerba anything like Turkey for those who have been to Turkey? The comments I have read about covering up make me think so because Turkey is also well known for male attention to females.
I am looking forward to trying local food - what is it like?
What boat trips are on offer - I heard about a dolphon spotting one?

I will leave it at this for now but any hints or tips would be greatfully received!!!

Thanks all
Claire

Hi, I know your not supposed to drink tap water and order ice cubes in your drink, avoid salads etc. But does that apply to hotels as well? My girlfriend and I are staying at a 4 star hotel.

Ile de Jerba Beach Quality
Posted: Thu January 19, 2006 12:53 PM UTC
My wife and I like the look of the Movenpick hotel in Djerba Zone Touristique and that it is on the beach. We are keeen swimmers & I snorkel but according to "Croasbeauty" he said the sea was full of seagrass/seaweed. Also that it was very shallow for a very long way out.Is this true? If so i will go to somewhere else in Tunisia where the sea is OK.

Ile de Jerba Anyone been at the Movenpick
Posted: Thu September 23, 2004 05:40 PM UTC
Hello all,

I was planning to spend a few (+/-10) days in Tunesia in September. The agency recommended me the %bMovenpick Ulysse palace & thalasso %b*in Djerba. As I'm a golfer, this seems like a good spot. Anyone any comments/suggestions/expiriences?

Thanks,

Koen
