about a visa to tanzania Posted: Sat February 21, 2009 01:43 PM UTC
I'm going into arusha from nairobi in april.
I've read that you can obtain a visa for tanzania at the point of entry, is it true also for arusha, or only for airport entry?
On the timesonline site it says that if you get a kenya visa you can use it also for tanzania can anyone conferme this?
finally do I need a multi-entry visa for kenya or a single will suffice?
Sorry for the multiple question but the info I received are a confusing.
Thanks for your help!

Getting from Dar es Salaam to Arusha Posted: Tue June 24, 2008 05:32 PM UTC
Hi
Has anyone got any recommendations for travelling between Dar es Salaam and Arusha? I understand that the roads have been improved but how long is it by road, how easy is it, would it still be better to fly?
Any help is really appreciated

Hotels in Dar es Salaam Posted: Mon June 16, 2008 09:01 PM UTC
Hi
I'm flying in to Dar es Salaam late July. I am looking for recommendations for hotels in the city suitable in terms of safety for a single female traveller.
I will be in Tanzania for approximately 5 weeks and apart from definitely wanting to head to Pemba and Zanzibar for the diving I am looking for any recommendations as to the best way to spend my time. Would I be better spending time in Dar es Salaam at the start of my stay or at the end? Would it be a good idea to head northwards to maybe visit one of the parks at the start of my holiday or at the end? Any recommendations tips etc would be appreciated.
I have also booked my Yellow Fever vaccination for next week. I understand that it is necessary, is my information correct.
Many thanks for any help you can give me

Travelling from uk. How best to pay ? Posted: Mon June 18, 2007 10:06 AM UTC
My family and myself are travelling from the uk to Dar at the end of July. We have been advised that it is not a good idea to take travellers cheques. We are unable to get Tsh in the UK. We are told the best way is to get local currency from the ATM machines in Dar. As I dont want to rely on this one method does anybody else have any ideas ? Can US dollars be readily used ? Has any one out there had problems changing up travellers cheques ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Female looking for suggestions about a trip to Dar es Salaam June-August 2007. Posted: Mon April 9, 2007 04:18 PM UTC
I will be living in Dar es Salaam to work at a Legal Aid Clinic in Dar es Salaam (located in Kariakoo, Lindi Street, Adjacent/ Near Uhuru Girls’ Primary School) from mid June- mid August 2007. I am looking for a safe and relatively cheap and safe place to stay for two months. In addition, I was wondering about estimated cost of living (food, daily transportation) and I would appreciate any suggestions that anyone thinks are helpful for a first time visitor.
Thank you for your help!

luggage storage at airport Posted: Wed April 5, 2006 04:01 PM UTC
Does anybody know if there is a luggage storage at the airport of Dar es Salaam? Because the small planes to Zanzibar don't let you take much luggage, I want to leave it somewhere.

ATMs in Tanzania? Tarzara railway? Posted: Fri January 9, 2004 08:04 AM UTC
Hi friends,
1. Anyone know about ATMs in Tanzania? I've been travelling for a long time and am out of cash (I'm in South Africa right now). I don't know if I should get a bunch of money out here in South Africa and carry it up there (big worry) or can I just take out money there?
2. Is the Tarzara railway from Zambia to Dar Es Salaam Tanzania still running? I'm looking into how I'm going to travel overland from Capt Town to Dar Es Salaam.
Thanks so muCH!
