Prince Hotel Khartoum Posted: Mon May 18, 2009 09:24 AM UTC
Hi there,
I'm travelling to Khartoum soon to work for a few days. My company has booked me into the Prince Hotel. Can anybody tell me anything about this hotel or direct me to its website please? I can't seem to find anything online about this hotel and my company usually book employees into the Rotana Hotel so as none of my colleagues have stayed in the Prince hotel before I'm anxious to find info about it.
Thanks in advance!

Bringing dog to Khartoum Posted: Thu September 4, 2008 09:24 PM UTC
Hi,
I am planning to move to Khartoum for a year in October and am going to bring my dog with me. I have been to Sudan before so I know the general situation but wonder if anybody could share with me his/her recent experience -- stuff like what happens at the Khartoum airport, what they ask for, what surprises could await me?
Many thanks for help and all the best,
A

URGENT-is there anywhere in Khartoum to buy a dog kennel/crate?? PLEASE help Posted: Fri July 4, 2008 02:13 AM UTC
My husband is in Sudan, and has to fly back to Canada this Sunday (48 hours) He needs to bring his dog home with him.
Lufthansa told us that at time of flight booking we could request a kennel for the dog to fly in. They were not able to do it.
Is there anywhere to buy an airline approved dog kennel in Jhartoum?
PLEASE help, we are desperate and out of time!!!

travel with kids to Sudan Posted: Thu April 17, 2008 02:00 AM UTC
Can anyone offer some advice on traveling and living in Khartoum with kids? ie. what to bring, what's available in the baby/child needs departments, etc. Also wondering whether mosquito nets are available to buy in Khartoum or is it best to bring them? And, what sort of electrical plugs are used in Khartoum?

fitness possibilities Posted: Sun September 23, 2007 08:25 AM UTC
Hi All,
My husband and I are moving to Khartoum in a few months. We are both fairly active and are looking for ways to get exercise while we are living in Khartoum. Are there any gyms with modern equipment and if so what are the prices like? Are they open to men and women at the same time? What about sports teams or running locations?
Thanks!

visa for sudan Posted: Wed July 4, 2007 04:14 PM UTC
hi! i'm a myanmar passport holder, teaching in Karachi and im planing on comming to Sudan for a visit. Thing is, the Sudan consulate here in Islamabad is quite unhelpful, the man says they do not issue tourist visas, i need a reference from sudan to go to the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs or something to give my name and passport number, then i can get my visa through the consulate here. what a tedious process! i dont really understand it either, can anyone elaborate? thank you!
Regards,
Mya

Expats and Pets Posted: Sat February 4, 2006 03:28 PM UTC
Any of you expats who have lived in Khartoum long term have any advice (pro or con) about bringing pets? Specifically, a dog?
I am aware of the logistics in shipping a pet internationally and the health certificate/permit requirements for Sudan; however, I'd like to know if it would be unduly difficult on the dog due to the weather, or any cultural concerns.
Would love to receive any info on this topic, thanks!

Khartoum- any travel advisories? Posted: Tue February 3, 2004 08:11 AM UTC
Hi all!
I plan to make a 3-4 days stopover to Khartoum from Jeddah and need advice on the following:
1. Is the city safe for foreigners? Heard about the on-going civil war but do not know whether this is reflected in the day to day life in Khartoum? Anything to be careful about?
2. Hotel recommendations, preferably 3-5 stars hotels?
3. Getting around - do I hire a taxi/car for the day?
4. Any well-known industrial areas in Khartoum?
5. Visa - can a hotel arrange for a visa upo arrival or do I need a sponsor's letter?
Thanks a million for your help!
