We are taking a day trip to Addo. The park offers 3 elephant back safaris each day, but we likely wouldn't get there in time for the first, at 8:00. Does anyone have any experience / input on the pros and cons of the 11:00 vs. the 15:30 times?

During our trip (self drive ) in South Africa we plan to stay 2 nights in Oyster Bay Lodge (near St Francis bay ). Would it be feasable to drive up to Addo Elephant park just for the day?
Can you drive around with your own car in the park or do you need to tag along with organised game drives? Would we need to make reservations upfront? Or is there other stuff we need to take care of in advance? |

We will be travelling from Cape Town by Greayhound Coach to Port Elizabeth and wonder if it is possible to get to the National Park without hiring out a car. We have booked accommoadation for three nights in the park and sunrise game drives but wonder if it would still be best to hire a car?
Any tips would be very much appreciated. |
