I'd like to go to isluga village but dont know where to head from?

My boyfriend and i were thinking of buying a cheap car to drive thru Chile, Argentina and possibly further north in Sth America. We have a few questions...
Will the expense and risk of forking out cash for a car be worth it? How expensive is petrol? Tolls? Parking?
Can you take a car across borders? What customs procedure are involved?
Would we be able to sell the car after we finish our trip, most likely in Argentina?
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated, especially about Sth Am red tape!!

So I've been reading a LP guidebook but it doesn't seem to mention about the bus schedule, it mentions only prices and durations. Does anyone know what time of day the bus leaves from Arica to La Paz? It doesn't have to be an exact time but an approximate one let's say early morning, late afternoon, overnight or something like that is enough.

I have lived in London for a while now and I am travelling through my native country in january. I want to visit Pisagua, but no one in Chile seems able to tell me how to get there without a car (I don't drive). Any ideas?

Despues de vivir unos años en Londres, voy a vajar a mi tierra natal en enero. Quiero visitar Pisagua, pero no he podido averiguar como llegar sin automovil (no conduzco). Ideas?

Estare viajando primeros dias de Noviembre desde Bogota Colombia a Santiago via terrestre . Valdra mejor la pena pernoctar en Iquique que en Arica ??
Cual seria el tiempo desde Una y otra hasta Santiago .Voy en linea de buses terrestre .Pienso tomar una linea de bus local como Turbus .Sera mejor desde Arica o iquique .Se de la Zona Franca en Iquique .Vale la pena ??.Gracias .
