I am traveling to Magdeburg for a few days and would like to know if it is possible to purchase the "Weatherhouses" that are typical to the southwest of Germany? Unfortunately I do not have time to make a trip to the black forest. Any help would be appreciated.

I will be travelling by car from Rostock to Magdeburg via Pritzwalk, Stendal, Tangermünde. I am looking for a moderately priced hotel in pleasant surroundings

Quedlinburg or Goslar - If you could only visit one. Which one would it be and why?

I am told that I should travel via Inter City rail, (RE?)from Berlin to Magdeburg during my trip next month. I need to know how to reserve tickets for two (1 Class) from Berlin to Magdeburg from here in the USA using the web perhaps. Can someone assist me?

I would like to visit the birthplace of Friedrich Nietzsche - a town called Roecken and also Naumburg, where he spent the most part of his life.

A friend and I plan to take a train from Duesseldorf to Leipzig. Does anyone know of a good train or bus connection to Roecken and Naumburg from Leipzig? Would it make more sense to rent a car in Leipzig?

I would like to visit:

1. The village church and cemetery in Roecken
2. Das Nietzsche-Haus, Weingarten 18, Naumburg
3. Museums, cafes, bars, restaurants etc. in Leipzig (suggestions from the local tourist office)

Any other "must-see"s whilst we are in these three cities - Leipzig, Roecken and Naumburg?

My friend and I will take a short holiday in Germany at the weekend of Christmas.
Our itinerary is Zwolle - Tecklenburg - Goslar - Osnabruck- Zwolle.
We will stay in Goslar 2 nights.
I would like to find out if there is a Opera playing in the surrounding area or in Goslar itself .
Furthermore which church would you recommend to go to at Christmas Eve and would you know at what time the service starts??

I will visit Magdeburg on next Saturday. Is it possible to cover all the sights in one day by walking from Bahnhof? What are the not-to-be-missed sights? Seems I can't really find much infos from the travel guides. So hope you guys can give me some tips...

Are there Schuetzners Grueneberg whom I might stay with?

I am writing about Magdeburg, Germany, in the mid-19th century. I would like to know what the city gates looked like. I know there are Magdeburg Gates in Moscow from the 11th or 12th century that have particular icons on it, though I've never seen a photo. Can anyone help me? Thanks.
