ESTANCIAS Posted: Sun April 13, 2008 10:31 AM UTC
Hello
Can anyone suggest an Estancia relatively near to BsAs. We will be in BsAs in Feb 09 and we are looking for one which has a bit of luxury and will cater for inexperienced riders.
Can you also suggest when we should try and book the estancia ie do they get fully booked months in advance.
Many thanks in advance

Going to Buenos Aires Dccember 6th-16th... Help? lol!! Posted: Wed October 17, 2007 04:35 PM UTC
Hello,
Well I was planning on going to Serbia for a Vacation until i was told it was going to be about 15 degrees.
So now keeping with the travel spirit I have decided to Book a trip to Buenos Aires instead!
My dates are going to be DEC 6-16th... I have so many questions....
1) Dress codes at bars and restaurants?
2) I would like to spend at least 3-4 days on the coast should i stay more? what town has the best nightlife?
3) How much are buses or trains to coastal towns? how much do they? how hard is it to get a ticket?
4) Wineries how far are they? how expensive are they to get to?
5) How expensive are things? Beer? nice dinner?
6) Galleries are there any big showings right now? any not to miss?
7) DJ's will any big names be their DEC 6th-16th?
8) How hard is it to meet locals? Do any VT's want to meet up?
9) What should the weather like?
10) Christmas bizarre or markets?
11) Are the clubs really open till the sunrises? lol
12) What are things i must do or see?
13) what things must i eat?
Mucho gracias!!!!!!!!!

Child friendly areas in Buenos Aires Posted: Mon July 9, 2007 08:42 PM UTC
Dear forum members,
Early October we will arrive in Buenos Aires and spend a few days here before we start exploring the rest of the country. We will be travelling with young children. Can any of you recommend particular areas in Buenos Aires where we should (or should not) find accommodation? Perhaps even some recommendations for accommodation itself (hotel/apartment, medium price)? Any tips where to go in Buenos Aires with small children?
All help is highly appreciated!
Cheers, fam. Van den Heuvel.

Transportation from EZE airport to AEP airport Posted: Wed June 27, 2007 11:37 PM UTC
I'm planning to ski Bariloche in August. It'll be my first time in Argentina, though I'm not a stranger to international travel other places. Naturally, my flight into the country lands at EZE, but then the flight to Bariloche leaves from AEP. What's my best bet (American with VERY limited Spanish -- enough to stumble my way through a basic transaction, I think, if I can get you to be patient and speak slowly to me) for getting myself from EZE to AEP? Although I haven't decided for certain if I'll take them, assume that I'm going to have my 185 cm skis with me. Once I clear customs and all, where should I be going to get transportation to AEP? What should I be looking for? Expected cost and duration of drive?
Thanks for any help!

Rio and BA in December '07 Posted: Sun April 29, 2007 01:27 AM UTC
We're looking at a particular tour from "Gotmyfare" that would have us stay at the Hotel Sarmiento or Roma Plaza(or equivilant) in BA, and the Hotel Atlantic or Hotel Royalty(or equivilant)in Rio. Has anyone ever used them? What's your experience with them?
Any info on hotels and/or location would be appreciated. Also, we would be traveling in December. What's the weather like then? I know it's Summer.
Please do not suggest independent travel.
Thanks, Irv

Tips on beach holiday for a family with kids in October-November 2007 Posted: Thu April 12, 2007 08:44 PM UTC
We are a family of 4 that will travel Argentina for the first time in October-November 2007. Because we will travel with small children (2 and 4 years old at that time) we would like to travel as few as possible. We are thinking of travelling one day or night and then stay at one place for at least 3-5 days. As accomodation we prefer cabanas/apartments/family rooms (in hotels or hostels).
We would like to spend one week of our stay in Argentina on the beach (just to relax on the beach with the kids and maybe do some day trips to interesting places). We were thinking of staying at Miramar in either October or November, on our way from or to Buenos Aires.
The questions we have:
1. Is Miramar a good choice for a week beach holiday with small kids?
2. Are there any interesting site trips (also for kids) to do from this place?
3. Can you recommend accomodation that is not too expensive?
Thanking you in advance!

Help Please!?! Posted: Sat November 11, 2006 05:05 PM UTC
I am going to MdP at the end of November to meet up with my husband. I am wondering what type of clothes to bring with me. I don't want to stand out too much, but I am a casual type of girl. I love to wear shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops. I don't usually care TOO much about what people think, but I don't want to embarrass my husband. I do own a couple of dress outfits and some dress shoes so I do like to dress up too. I don't know what the temperature's going to be like, as we are still warm here in Florida so I don't yet have my Winter wardrobe. I hope somebody can please help me, as I need a lot of help and have LOTS more questions!!
Thank you in advance!

where to find the kids like me... Posted: Thu June 22, 2006 01:59 AM UTC
Hello,
I'll be studying in BsAs all of this coming year, beginning in July. I was wondering if you guys could tell me where the younger (college-age), left-wing, politically minded, non-image obsessed, non-mainstream types hang out. Any particular areas/bars/cafes/clubs? Does anyone know of any radical bookstores or infoshops in the city? For example, if I were in New York I'd go to the East Village, where I know of political bookstores that hold meetings and organize events. I'd love to find out what the political and social perspectives of the progressive 20-something crowd are in Buenos Aires.
Thanks!

Cheapest transport BsAs to RIO Posted: Sat April 29, 2006 12:36 PM UTC
Good day!
Quick one here:
Just wondering what is the cheapest way to get from BsAs to RIO and an estimated cost and travel time.
I'm assuming, most likely by bus. Is it that bad of a ride? Or is it quite bearable?
As a visitor to BsAs and possibly nearing the max stay of 3 months, I was thinking on planning a week or two trip to Rio to a) visit as a short vacation and b) to renew my BsAs visitor stamp for another 3 months upon returning back to BsAs (if that can be done that way).
Any help would of course be appreciated.
Thank you. :)
