Mendoza I will travel to Mendoza coming from Santiago, for New Year´s Eve, any suggestions?
Posted: Fri November 6, 2009 01:50 AM UTC
I would like to know about 3 star hotels in Mendoza and also in Santiago, if possible. In Santiago, I would like to stay in Providencia neighborhood. In Mendoza, in a walking distance from everywhere in town. Besides, I need to know which are the best vineyeards and if a reservation is needed for lunch.
Also about companies that take tourists to vineyards.
Thanks in advance.

Mendoza getting from Mendoza to Buenos Aries
Posted: Sun September 27, 2009 11:23 PM UTC
We are going to take the bus to Buenos Aries from Mendoza. How long is the trip? When does it go? I have seen on the net to plan for 22 hrs. I am befudled by when to book the hotel in Mendoza. If I come in on Friday at 3pm and want to spend a day in Mendoza, when will the bus leave to take me to BA? Ideally if I came in at 3Pm on Friday, I would l leave Sat. night. at 10PM and arrive Sunday evening about 6PM. Does this sound right?

Posted: Fri September 18, 2009 08:27 PM UTC
We are coming to Mendoza in November (2 people)and wish to arrange for a private tour of the wineries of the region. We are in the area for 3 nights. Any recommendations would be appreicated (individuals our tour companies). Also, we wish to make an arrangement with a car and driver for a one-way drive to Santiago. I am a photographer and would want to make various stops along the way. Thank you in advance, we can hardly wait to arrive to Argentina.

Mendoza Bicycle and University
Posted: Fri August 14, 2009 02:42 AM UTC
Hello!

I have two very unrelated questions:

1. Is it easy to buy a decent road bike in mendoza? Also, is it a bike friendly town at all?

2. Is it possible to take classes at any of the local universities? I don't really want to enroll full time, but I'd love to take a class or two.

Thanks!

Mendoza Natural History or Wildlife Guides Near Mendoza
Posted: Sat June 6, 2009 11:13 AM UTC
I am traveling to Mendoza in October and am interested in seeing the wildlife of the region -- birds, vegetation, reptiles, different habitats. Can anyone direct me to interpretive guides with some knowledge of wildlife, and who also speak English? Is there a local equivalent of the Audubon Society or Sierra Club where I can get information about unspoiled areas for hiking?

Any tips would be appreciated!

Thank you.

We are thinking of visiting Mendoza, Argentina around the middle of July. Are we going to have trouble finding wineries that are open as it is their winter?

Mendoza Mendoza in June? How much closes down
Posted: Tue January 13, 2009 08:20 PM UTC
Hi, we're thinking off heading down to Argentina on honeymoon around June 1st 09 for 16 days. We emailed some wine lodges in mendoza but the first 3 we tried have told us they will be closed in June. I'm getting worried that this is not a good time to visit?

Mendoza Mendoza to Andes tour ... and/ or Mendoza to Santiago de Chile bus
Posted: Tue January 6, 2009 11:31 PM UTC
I have been looking around VT and some photos and would welcome any recommendations on the following two activities - please keep in mind I will be a woman traveling alone, so in each of these to I ask how safe it will be.

- Taking a day tour from Mendoza to the Andes (staying in Mendoza)

- Taking a bus from Mendoza to Santiago de Chile - is this doable in a day - about how long does it take? Will a one-night stay in Santiago give a quick look at the city?

Provincia de Mendoza Alta Montaña tour
Posted: Mon November 17, 2008 06:56 PM UTC
Hi. I've been reading about tours in Mendoza. I'll only have a few days there, and I want to see as much as possible. It seems like the "Alta Montaña" tour is a popular one. Can anyone recommend this? How much do you get to see?

I'll be arriving from Santiago. Does anyone know where that bus stops? Once I get to Mendoza and head back out to see the sights, will the Alta Montaña tour cover things I've already seen?

I've heard good things about Villavicencio, Los caracoles (a highway?), and hiking near Aconcagua.

Any thoughts??

Hello, we are a young couple (22, 24, non-smokers) who are planning to make a trip Mendoza- Fiambala - Copiapo- La serena- Santiago and back to Mendoza.
Our plan was to make the 2180 km in 5 days from 17 to 21 of November 2008, sleeping at local hostels, visiting the natural spa in Fiambala, crossing the boarder to Chile in "Paso San Francisco", stopping at the Laguna verde, and at the coast La Serena in Chile.
If you want to join the trip, and share the costs of renting a 4x4, please contact me!

Mendoza City bus query

Hi. We're staying in Mendoza for three days next month. We'll be staying in Ibis at the following address:

Lateral Sur Acceso Este 4242 Guaymallen - 5521 - MENDOZA

Are there any colectivos between the main bus station (arriving from BsAs) and our hotel?
And colectivos between our hotel and the city centre?
If we rent a car, which company gives a good deal for three day rental?
Thanks.

Mendoza Bus from Chile -Santiago or Valparaiso
Posted: Fri September 12, 2008 12:52 AM UTC
Hi,
I´m due to travel from Chile to Mendoza next week and can depart from either Valparaiso or Santiago.
Is there a significant difference in the journey (length of time it takes or variety of services offered-standard or "tourist" transfers) from these departure points?

Many thanks in advance,

Provincia de Mendoza Staying and trekking in Mendoza
Posted: Sat July 26, 2008 02:08 AM UTC
I'm looking to stay in Mendoza for 3-5 days, and since it's such a short time I want to shore things up in advance. I've been looking at two hostels: Winca's and Damajuana. Has anyone stayed at either of these places and can recommend them?

Also, there seem to be a thousand different tours you can go on in Mendoza. WIth only a few days, what should I prioritize? Wineries? Valle de la Luna? Aconcagua? Malargue? Should I try to take driving tours and see as much as I can, or pick one or two things and do some long treks?

Thanks!

Provincia de Mendoza Best 1-4 day hiking??
Posted: Mon May 12, 2008 01:20 AM UTC
Hi. I expect to spend about 7-10 days in Mendoza in January, and I'm looking for recommendations on the absolute best hikes/treks. Anything in the range of 1-4 days. I'm looking for the best views of the Andes and the most beautiful trails! It seems like many people do the approach to Aconcagua... is this really the best??

When my partner and I went to Bolivia we discovered the most incredible hike we'd ever done (Choro Trek), but we only heard about it word-of-mouth. So we're hoping to repeat that experience!

I'm traveling to Mendoza during October and will be there for three nights. I want to stay somewhere outside of the city center but don't want to rent a car (ideally somewhere that is still walking distance to some restaurants). I found the following places. Can anyone tell me which is the best or if they would not recommend any of these places for any particular reason?
-Club Tapiz, Carlos Pulenta La Posada, Robles de Besares, Casa Glebinias, Lares de Chacras and Finca Adalgisz
