I am curious about this statement regarding nightlife Posted: Tue September 8, 2009 05:54 AM UTC
No special requirements are observed here. In fact, what most of the girls who frequent these places were would make your hair stand attention.
Can somebody shed some light on this??? Is it not advisable to go to a bar in Lagos?
Thanks!

Trip to Shagamu via Lagos Posted: Fri April 17, 2009 06:33 PM UTC
Help!!!
I'm traveling to Shagamu in a few weeks and flying into Lagos. I will be staying for one week. I have never been to Nigeria before so here are my questions:
1. Cash or credit card?
2. What is the exchange ratio for naira to the u.s. dollar?
2. What are the names of some good hotels in Lagos? (I may need to stay 1 or 2 nights in Lagos).
3. Are there any decent hotels near the airport in Lagos?

Cash Notes Posted: Sun February 8, 2009 11:40 PM UTC
You mention that people carry large amounts of cash notes with them..You also say that these notes develop an unattractive smell to them. Does this mean that credit cards are not readily accepted? Is cash money the only way to pay for things in Lagos? It is not possible to use a credit card instead of cash?
Thank you for any help that you can give me.

Internet cafe Posted: Fri May 23, 2008 01:06 AM UTC
Hi, everyone. I have been asked to help setup a internet cafe in Lagos. The person involved will pay for my return flight. I will pay for my own accomandation. Help setup the internet cafe. Then fly home again. I would like to help but am unsure what to do. Is it safe in lagos. What are the people like ? I will help train local people to run the internet and use windows operating systems. I only have four days. What I would really like to know is ? If I wanted to leave early, for whatever reason, can I book a flight home myself. How much do I have to pay in local taxes to leave the country. Many thanks, in advance. HD

Visa and copy airline ticket requirement Posted: Sat December 23, 2006 04:18 AM UTC
I am planning a trip to Lagos hopefully the end of March 07 and am researching the visa. One of the requirments is to attach a photocopy of return/flight booking/itinerary with the visa application. Now, on the chance that the visa is denied there is a good chance that I will lose the money for the ticket as I will not be able to refund the ticket. I am from Canada. Can anyone suggest how they have approached this situation? Is my only alternative to purchase a refundable ticket which I know is very expensive? Anna

I am wondering how hard it would be for a 27 year old blonde, attractive, white american women to get a job in Lagos and make say 900 american dollars, to get back to the USA ? In addition, what is the environment like meaning how safe is it really for her there ? Please let me know any more information that may be helpful, a friend of mine is currently there-- Thank you all

First time in Lagos/Nigeria Posted: Fri October 14, 2005 04:32 PM UTC
Hi All,
I'm traveling to Lagos on 16th October. I'll be there for about 3 to 4 weeks. I have my business contacts there who'll make all accomodation arrangements. But I'd like to get some general tips about Lagos and Nigeria.
I'll have a lot of free time during the weekends, so I'm looking for some nice things to do...
Is there anything that I cannot miss? Anywhere that I have to go?
Also, anything that I should not do? Or any place that I should avoid?
Is there a wildlife safari nearby?
How is the nightlife?
Any tips and info would be useful... also, if any other travelers there are looking for some drinking buddy or a safari partner - I'm here!
Thanks a lot for your reply...

Is true that I should give a $$ dash (gratuity/a tip) when getting through customs? Posted: Thu January 13, 2005 03:44 AM UTC
Greetings Everyone!
I will be traveling to Lagos, Nigeria next month and had heard that when going through customs that I should give money to the employees who are examining my luggage. If this is true, how much money is appropiate to give to them? Thanks so much your input on this and I look forward to hearing your responses as well as any other advice you can give me about Lagos.
