Buenos Aires Remis Taxi from Ezeiza to city and Tourist Tax
Posted: Fri November 6, 2009 02:13 PM UTC
Is it just me ? or has the price of a Remis to the city gone up, drastically, in price ?

I will be arriving in B.A. on 13th February and am looking for a Remis to the city and back again on 20th.
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Taxi firm or individual who can do these trips without "ripping me off" ?

Also, the Argentine Govt. were talking, some time ago, about introducing a reciprical Entry Tax for citizens of those countries who impose it on Argentines - I think from memory that they were talking around US$130 !!
Does anyone know where this proposal is currenly at ( if anywhere? )

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give !!

Regards,

Buenos Aires Boca Juniors
Posted: Wed November 4, 2009 10:57 PM UTC
Hi I am in need of your fantastic help!

I will be in BA for 1 week in April and have been looking into gong to a Football match when there. It is my parner 30th bday and I know how much he would love this as a surprise.
Please, please please can you advise me whether there are any matches in April and if so how can I get tickets? Can I pre book now or will I have to buy nearer the time.
I have been on several 'whats on' websites that state boca play river plate in april.
This would be fabulous and I would love to get tickets. no matter what the price!
Unfortunately I don't speak the best spanish!, so cannot go on baca juniors websites and find out more.
Also will it be the new season then and maybe the exact date is not known? or does this match happen at the same time every year?
Please help in anyway.

Thanks

Buenos Aires which estancia?..... and thoughts on mar del plata?
Posted: Fri October 23, 2009 07:23 PM UTC
hi, i've been in BsAs a while and want to get out for a few days, but not too far - i really want to try an estancia and stay overnight, but am wary of the recommendations of time out and lonely planet - they say everything is great, in short, and as i'm travelling on my own, i want to find a good one, but not one exclusively for couples :) or too heavily polo focused.... just somewhere nice and relaxed where there might be other travellers
any recommendations?

failing that, i'm thinking about the mar del plata for 2 or 3 nights - again, any idea as to whether this is a destination for solo travellers or not outside of december/jan/feb?

many thanks and happy travels

Buenos Aires Summer time
Posted: Sat September 26, 2009 11:45 PM UTC
Hello everyone,

Just wondering how much different Buenos Aires is in the summer compared to the other seasons. What I mean is Population wise. Do many people leave? Where do Portenos go? Is there a complete influx of tourists? Thanks in advance.

Buenos Aires Open air/street markets/antique markets/plaza markets
Posted: Sun September 13, 2009 04:49 AM UTC
I will be there for 2 weeks in November and really enjoy going to outdoor markets. I have been to San Telmo but am looking for other markets either daily or on the weekends that aren't quite so touristy; although I will probably return to San Telmo! Buying is not a priority...being amongst the people is. Want to stay in Palermo so will go to Plaza Serrano. I also like good covered markets just to walk and mingle. Any favorite resturants in Palermo would be appreciated. Read somewhere about Mirasol but can't find the site so if anyone knows it, let me know. Am anxious to return for a longer stay this time. Thanks so much for any help.

Buenos Aires Getting to Buenos Aires from ferry
Posted: Sat September 12, 2009 12:09 AM UTC
Hello,

I will be traveling from Colonia, Uruguay to Buenos Aires via ferry. I'm told the ferry port is close to EZE airport. Can anyone suggest the easiest way to get from the port to the city? Do taxicabs pick up directly at the port (I understand Radio Taxi is safest)? Thanks.

Buenos Aires hotel in san telmo
Posted: Tue August 25, 2009 02:59 PM UTC
for various reasons, i need to book a hotel in san telmo for several days last week in september...have been looking at the internet choices and could use some advice...i usually prefer large business-type hotels but the area doesn't seem to offer these so i'm choosing between small boutique hotels in the area. i'd like to be on a street that's fairly lively in the evening but not too noisy or congested (!). prices look comparable but, of course, photos lie...appreciate all help as always.

Buenos Aires Nightlife in BA

Hi,
I'm going to be in Buenos Aires in November and I was wondering if anyone could recommend good pubs (yes, it is an accurate stereotype, we Irish do like a drink or two) and clubs in Buenos Aires, especially for younger crowds, i.e. 18-25.

Cheers,

Buenos Aires Buenos Aires to Santiago, Chile by land??
Posted: Thu August 6, 2009 01:20 AM UTC
Can anybody help me out with how to get from BA to Santiago by bus? If by bus, how long is the trip and what is the price range of tickets? From a previous post, I read that the trip from Mendoza to Santiago is very scenic and from BA to Menoza is fairly flat and non scenic. Is this correct? Is the pass through the Andes from Mendoza to Santiago in good condition (passable) in early Oct?

Any places worth stopping over at other than Mendoza?
