Any idea how to go from Campo Grande to Foz do Iguacu? I´d like to travel on suface and stop once or twice on the way. Is there any place worth a visit?
In January 2010 i want to travel to Sao paulo. I almost booked my flight through cheaptickets.nl, cause actually the easiest way for me is to fly from Amsterdam.
But I can also travel from London (first fly with ryan air from Eindhoven to London) and fly really cheap with Mexicana air for £ 213 http://www.cheapticket.co.uk/index.aspx
But my problem is that i don't really feel comfortable with this way of booking a flight.
Does someone have experience with this and can tell me if this save to do this.
My husband and I will be going to brazil in feb and we would like to find out the best way to do see Bonito from iguazu. We are looking to take the bus from iguazu to campo grande and then another to Bonito. Can you please send me some information on bus line information, schedule and the cost?
Thanks
I will arrive on 16th of nov., to Sao Paulo and I have training in Curitiba on 17th of Nov. I would like to know how can I get bus ticket or train ticket from Sao Paulo to Curitiba? and how many hours does it take in average to arrive Curitiba?
ANd if someone could give me informations abt this city?
Anyone knows how to get from Foz to Alegrete? Probably there is no direct bus, but what maior city should I go to to catch a bus to Alegrete? And what bus company does this route? I have sought a lot on the internet, but without any results.
We are planning a trip to Iguassu falls in October, later this year.
We were hoping to do a jet boat ride up to the falls, but heard you can do this from both the Argentine and Brazilian sides. Does anyone know which side is better? I heard that the Argentine side is not as expensive but just as good? I heard the Brazilian side does a video of your ride which you can purchase? Would we need to book this in advance or can I just turn up on the day?
Hi
I am going to Curitiba-Piraquara area for 3 months work, and would like some feedback on the following
1) best way to get to either city from the airport
2) what are the typical accommodations, preferably hotels in either city
3) banks ATM for visa cards are they plentyful and safe
4) how safe is the area , I am a guy used to travel to many places, but not being to Brazil since 2002. Any particular area that should be avoided?
5) best places to eat and drink
6) best sport bars, dance halls
7) is it ok to use public transport or renting a car would work better
so far these are the questions, sorry too many but better knowledge better travel

I will be staying in Foz do Iguacu(Brazil)but flying to Buenos Aires from Iguazu Falls(Argentina)what is the best way to get there bus or taxi? How long would it take and the cost?
Im visting Puerto Iguazu for one day in September and then crossing over to Foz for one night from where I have a flight to Rio de Janeiro. Since I really like to visit Paraguay then I was wondering wether it would be better to cross over from the Argentina-side or the Brazilian-side?
I hope you dont mind that I posted the same question on the Puerto Iguazu-forum.
What is the best way to get from Foz do Iguacu to Puerto Iguazu? By bus or Taxi and about how much was the trip?
How long is the trip between the two cities?
I have read about the difference between both the Argentine and Brazilian sides of the falls and plan to spend the bulk of my time on the Argentine side. However, I was wondering how much time I should spend on the Brazilian side. I will have a Brazilian passport so there is no problem there. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, Sadly we don't have much time on our trip and must stick to planned dates, so I was wondering if anyone knew of a website where I can buy my tickets from Curitiba to Foz do Iguacu in advance and tickets from Foz do Iguacu to Campo Grande too. I saw Catarinense (running a Curitiba-Foz do Iguacu route) has an online buying area, but it is only for Brazilian nationals. And Eucatur (running the Foz do Iguacu-Campo Grande route) doesn't offer online purchases.
We really don't want to miss the buses we need to be on to keep the itinerary. Any suggestions???
Is there a safe place to keep my luggage in a cloak room in the bus or the train station. I am taking the bus from Iguassu and arriving in the morning to Curitiba at 7 AM. I am taking the train journey at 8 AM. Is there a safe place to leave my luggage in the vicinity. Please help.
Train tickets Posted: Sat March 24, 2007 09:05 PM UTC
Dear members,
I have tried this website http://www.serraverdeexpress.com.br
I also gave it to my travel agent In Brazil. I want 2 tickets on the left side for the train journey. This has been recommended in these forums as well as Lonely planet guide. My travel agent In Brazil says that seats are allocated in random and is unable to promise me seats on the left side. I am planning that particular journey for 25th May'07. I think being so much in advance there should be a way for it. Or is it first come first served and you can choose your seats?
Is ther any 1 st class compartments or all seats are passenger class/economy class?
input much appreciated.
I will be visiting Foz do Iguacu via the Brazilian side and want to enter into the Paraguayan side and Argentinian side. Is it possible to obtain on the spot visas at the border crossing? I wont be spending any other time in either country and do not have round trip flights out of either country as I will be returning to Brazil and continuing back to Sao Paulo.
I would like to go hiking to the mountain Pico Marumbi.
But I didn't found any further information how to go there.
I will take the train from Curitiba to Marumby.
I found a small map about three possibilities (easy - middle - hard) to hike up.
Does anybody know how difficult the hardest way is? Do I need equipment for it?
Can someone recommend a special way?
How much time shall i consider
Can I also camp there or is it a nature reservat?
Thanks for everybody who takes the time to answer
Senny
I want to fly or take a bus from the Iguazu-area to Montevideo. Are there any websites with flight- or bus-schedules that you, fellow travellers, reccommend?
I dont care if it is from the Argentina or Brazil side.
Im from Iceland and I and my girlfriend are coming to Brazil (& hopefully as much of S-America that we can cover) in September. Coming from far away we of course want to maximize our time there. Our plan is to check-out the Brazilian side and the Argentina side in 1 day? Is that to optimistic?
Then I was wondering if the Paraguyan-side was worth the visit? Ive heard about a tax free paradise but we dont want to buy anything since we would have to carry it a round for the whole time. So is there anything else to do there except shopping? Some nice cafés and watching interesting culture is sufficient! So does somebody recommend it?
I am assigned to work in Curitiba for 6 mths starting from late Jan 2007 by the company and will come with my wife.
The company finds me a hotel with just a microwave and fridge. As we like doing our cooking and importantly six months is not a short period and staying in a hotel will definitely drive us crazy, we wish to find a furnished apartment with two bedrooms, kitchen, belcony and basic electric appliance.
My questions are:
1. Can I easily rent such an apartment for 6 mths in Curitiba?
2. What will be the normal rent for an apartment say 70 square meters?
3. By what source could we find these informations?
Hello, me and other 3 girls are going to study next february and planning on renting an apartment. Do you know where can I find cheap, used beds / house stuff? like a flea market, or street market or something :)
I have read that Hotel del Rey is not centerally located. How inconvenient is it from the FAlls? Which mid-range hotels are located closer to the FAlls.
I am going to Curitiba tomorrow and want to do my Christmas shoping there. What gifts are native to Brazil? I like to steer away from tourist traps and prices and shop with the residents. Thanks for any suggestions and help!
