Hi, my husband and I are coming to Sao Martinho on 7th October for 6 months initially. The swine flu vaccination will be available in the U.K some time in October. As a diabetic I would be one of the first to receive the vaccination. Can anyone tell me as a matter of urgency a) the current situation with regard to swine flu incidence b) when the vaccination is likely to be available in Portugal and c) whether vulnerable groups will be offered the vaccination first as in the UK.
Also, can someone find out how long it would take to get the temp residenc permit if we apply straight away, as we may need this to get the vaccination?
I am looking at visiting Obidos, but unfortunately I will be missing the VT trip because I will be leaving the day of the Obidos excursion - so I would like to confirm, of the items listed on the Transportation tips, or of your knowledge,
- what is the best way to get to Obidos from Lisbon ... or
- what is the best way to get to Obidos from Cascais
- will it be walkable once I'm there
- any good places for a quick lunch or should I bring my own lunch
- what are your favorite places to see (I love historical places, nature, and castles!) ... anything to do with the queens would be great.
I prefer trains unless the schedule is hideous. If it's a bus and you have a link to the schedules it would be great.
I will probably have a few hours to spare in Leiria between two trains:
I was wondering if they are any lockers in Leiria train station ? Are there nice things to do around the station ?
hello, we will be in peniche on august 13 and we would like to book 4 places on a boat to berlenga in the morning (dep 09.30) and return to peniche (in the afternoon).
Many thanks in advance for your reply and prices info.
Best regards.
I plan to go to Leiria -Pedrogão Beach this coming New Year, may be 7 days. I am on the budget and never go to Portugal. I will fly from New York. Anybody know, How to get there? How much for the budget hotel, transportation and Food?
How about the weather in December? Cold/Rain? Safe for solo lady?
Can anyone recommend a good and safe place to stay in Nazare? I read hte other post about finding a place when you arrive, but I am going in August and am concerned that finding a place might be hard at that time.
Thanks
I was going to have Nazare as my base for visiting Obidos, Alcobaca and the rest of the region, to enjoy both the Atlantic and the monuments. However, I cannot find any nice accommodation there (yes, I read the Nazare accommodation question on the forum, but I’m looking for something with more of an ambience) .
Can anybody suggest either a different starting point in the region (preferably a nice seaside village) or accommodation in Nazare? I’m going to be using public transportation, so I’m looking for a place with train/bus access.
On my trip to Portugal this June I would love to find a good place to stay there. However whatever I find is out of my price range or I have to call. Anybody have a good website, or a place in mind.
I'm leaving Paris for a trip to portugal from the 4th of september to the 12th. I'll spend my nights in Leiria but I would like to visit : - Evora on monday - Peniche on tuesday - Lisboa on wednesday & thursday - Sintra on friday (I'll spend rest of the time with my friends in Leiria)
Do you know the kind of public transports I can use to reach thoses places from Leiria ? (I don't want to hier a car)
I am going to Malasia for the first time and I have many doubts.I want to know what the climatee is like . I also want to know wether there are any places where I can do roadside shopping. What is the name of the currency, what is its value against the Indian Rupee and the American Dollar.
What is the best way to travel from Lisbon to Obidos? I do not want to rent a car. I am considering either bus or train but cannot find schedules for either. Could anyone give me a recommendation?
This weekend there will be an "interesting" festival in the small town of Obidos with an international contest of chocolate recipes, so if you have a sweet tooth and your'e around why not show up ? :))
