Travelling to Singapore Posted: Fri November 6, 2009 04:49 AM UTC
Hi!
We (I and my wife) are travelling to Singapore next week from India for 3 days. Which are must to see places in Singapore and how is the climate there? We are also interested in doing some shopping. Does bargaining work in Singapore? Also, what currency should we carry (USD or SGD)? Thanks in advance for any suggestion or tips.

Only 5 months on my UK passport and transiting through Singapore to Aus Posted: Fri October 30, 2009 12:43 AM UTC
Hi,
I only have 5 months left on my UK passport and I am going to Australia with a transit through Singapore. I have read that Australia does not have a minimum passport length (http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-living-abroad/travel-advice-by-country/asia-oceania/australia?ta=entryRequirements&pg=4) but Singapore does have 6 months.
As I am only transiting through, will they still let me in?
Thanks

Ferry Singapore to East Java Posted: Thu October 22, 2009 04:15 PM UTC
I plan to travel from Singapore to Surabaya (or any other East Java detaination) end-November, preferably by ferry. I know that flying is easier and sometimes cheaper, but...pretty boring.
Did anyone do this crossing (presumably via Batam)? Where can I find more information (schedules, fares etc)?
Thank you for your help.

I want to go from butterworth to Taman Negara, then from Taman Negara to Singapore? Posted: Wed October 14, 2009 07:25 PM UTC
Thats my scheduled plan - can someone tell me weather i should overnight train it to Taman Negara - or would a overnight bus reach the forest area in one go ? How much time would the journey take ? Maybe i should self drive from butterworth to taman negara and then drive out after 2 days to the nearest station and deposit my car. Any suggestions here ?
Whilst coming back to Singapore, i think the best option would be to get to the nearest station and take a train to Singapore. How would i get to the nearest station and which line would take me overnight to Singapore.

I need a hotel in Singapore central from say 75 - 125 , i prefer it nearer to 75 actually Posted: Wed October 14, 2009 07:41 AM UTC
im staying for 4-5 nights, and will do all the kids activities and sentosa, and visit the river and laupat sot at night.
In 2004 i stayed with a friend and worked out an area outside Little India but somewhere there only, where there is also LAU pAT SOT and near the cable car area for Sentosa would be a good location.
But thats not so important, anywhere near the river or central would be good so i save on taxi costs at night.
Im budgeting 75 to 125 singapore dollars, but would like it closer to 75. I want a clean nice hotel or apartment or small B&B OR guest stay, not too downmarket.
I hope ypu can suggest me something

Changi Airport Posted: Mon October 5, 2009 07:15 AM UTC
Hi all,
My first time traveling with Tiger airlines and I have a question about Changi airport.
While I have transited through terminal 2 and 3 many times I have never arrived at the budget terminal. Is there anything there? I arrive at 3am and then do not get my connection (again from the budget terminal) until 1pm the same day. I have googled and discovered that the free bus between the terminals does not run between 2am and 5 am. Is there another way to get across to the main terminals? Is there a cheap hotel to sleep at?
Cheers

1 afternoon/evening in Singapore Posted: Mon September 28, 2009 07:44 AM UTC
Hi, I'm going to be in Singapore for 1 afternoon/evening. If I had to chose only 1 or 2 things to do in Singapore what would they be? I'm staying quite central and have to return to KL the following morning so I literally have some 7 hours to 'see' Singapore.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Are the lowcost airlines reliable? Posted: Mon September 28, 2009 03:02 AM UTC
Hi there!
Next year I will fly from Ho chi Min City to Singapore with Tiger Airlines and then about five hours later from Singapore to Australia.
I know that these airlines do not honor connections so it is my responsibility to allow enough time for a connection.
As I live in Europe I am not familiar with these airlines (ask me about Ryanair however and I can talk all day).
So my question is if Tiger Airways is a reliable, on-time airline?
Five hours is a lot of time for a connection (but not if the flight is canceled...)

singapore for couple of days and then? Posted: Fri September 25, 2009 10:48 AM UTC
Hi!
I will be travelling from Europe to Singapore in December for couple of days. We (me and my husband) were thinking of going somewhere else in Asia, preferably beach resort, with direct connection from Singapore. All in all, we only have around 10 days to spent. We have been to Thailand before so this time we would like to go somewhere else (Thailand was great, though).
Thanks in advance!

Zana

Pls HELP on directions Posted: Tue August 25, 2009 01:03 PM UTC
Hello again! With the help of our Vters, I was finally able to pick a hotel for my brother when he goes to Singapore next month. It's Classique Hotel. May i ask you if you know how he could reach his hotel the easiest way from Changi Airport? Classique Hotels's address is 240 Jalan Besar, Singapore. Since taking a taxi can be quite expensive there, I hope you could direct us using the metro or bus. thanks so much!
