Casablanca Underground Casablanca (Passage souterrain)
Posted: Fri February 27, 2009 01:29 PM UTC
Does Casablanca have underground street crossing places or other public activities? Or are there public areas underneath a building (for shade)?

We are investigating at the TU Delft, The Netherlands if there are any underground crossings in Casablanca, which type of society uses it and how they work.

Monday we will fly to Casablanca. If you could answer me before, I would be very thankfull! If you know some more underground crossings in Casablanca, I am interested to know them, so that we can visit and analyze them.

Kind regards,

Casablanca Booking the Visit of the Hassan II Mosque
Posted: Sun January 18, 2009 04:31 PM UTC
Hello.

Maybe a month ago, when I started planning my Moroccan trip, I found a website where one could book his visit of the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca. However, I did not bookmark it back then and today I tried really hard to find it and I could not. Maybe the problem is that the website was in French and I used only English keywords to look it up in Google. Could anybody try to find it? I guess it might not be necessary to book a visit in advance, but I have already decided on my schedule and I am certain when I will go to the mosque.

Thank you very much

Casablanca Rental Car in downtown Casablanca to Tangier
Posted: Tue January 6, 2009 02:05 AM UTC
Hi there - hoping someone can point us in the right direction.

We want to rent a car to drive up the coast and drop off in Tangier. So one way travel. We would like to rent it in downtown Casa if possible and drop it off in downtown Tangier - same day. We just want to see a bit of the coast and make a few stops. The trouble we seem to find is that we are driving on a Sunday so pickup/drop off seem limited. We can (and would actually prefer) pick up the night before (Saturday) but we still need to drop the car off on Sunday.

Does anyone know of a good, inexpensive rental company that is open Sunday and will rent for one day, one way?

Thanks for the help!!
Looking forward to exploring Morocco!

Hello all!

I am traveling from the US to Lagos, Nigeria and have a 13.5 hr (!) layover in Casablanca. I am wondering if I need a transit visa for this country just to be in the airport or if I want to go outside of the airport. I have an American and Nigerian passport, but I dont know if that matters. Please advise. Thanks!

Casablanca Accommodating and Travel
Posted: Thu May 15, 2008 04:12 PM UTC
I will be going to Casablanca this coming June for about a week or so, I am curious where the best place to stay would be. I am a student and looking to spend as little as possible on hotel/hostel. I have found the Youth Hostel, however, my emails requesting information have gone unanswered. Anyone have any ideas?

Also, it would fun to get out east and see the dunes or the Desert. I am not sure of transit times as far as bus or train and was wondering if anyone knew the easiest way to get a glimpse of the Sahara and possibly get a camel ride.

thanks again

Casablanca hotels on the corniche
Posted: Tue March 25, 2008 04:28 AM UTC
will be in casablanca for two nights (april 18-20) before meeting up with my old peace corps group for a return trip to our old stamping grounds (we were Morocco I, 1962-65.) have decided to stay at a hotel on the corniche (i think??), spend part of a day walking around casa (for old times' sake). have to meet up with group at 7am on sunday, april 20th at casablanca airport.

have researched hotels and have come up with some possibilities: club val d'anfa hotel, hotel azur, hotel de la corniche, hotel bellerive, or riad salaam (somewhat pricier than the others). all have received good and bad reviews on virtual tourist and on tripadvisor. any ideas as to which might be the best accomodation, best location on the beach, easiest to access the airport, etc.???

thanks in advance for the help.

Casablanca how safe is it at the Casablanca airport
Posted: Fri March 14, 2008 04:57 PM UTC
my 20 year old will be flying from Accra Ghana to JFK with a connection
in Casablanca, Morocco.
Is it a reasonably safe airport-- are the chances good that she will get her
luggage on the other end.
She had a RT flight on N.American airlines direct and it was cancelled-- so this
was the best we could do to get her back to the states-- ie least stops and cheapest. Any advice or experience with the airport?

Casablanca Hotel Club Val d'Anfa
Posted: Mon January 21, 2008 07:27 AM UTC
Hi all
Can someone give me the contact information (phone number, email etc) for Club Val d'Anfa Hotel in Casa?

Based on TripAdvisor and VirtualTourist recommendations, this seems to be my best choice for price, comfort, location and service. The price i am getting online is about US$100 per night.

I will be at the Sheraton for work from Jan 27 through 31 and then spending Jan 31-Feb 2 exploring Casa on my own.

Thank you in advance for your help.
