Hanoi help needed (hanoi vacation)
Posted: Sun May 4, 2008 05:12 PM UTC
Hi All,
I’m going to Hanoi for the first time this Thursday (08th may 2008) and will stay at Phan Dinh Phung Street. Would like to know:
1. Where is the nearest place for shopping? (I.e. souvenir, silk, bed sheet, t-shirt, key-chain,)
2. What is the range price for bed sheet?
3. Which one is better? Buy in USD currency or Dong.

Thanks.

Planning to visit Hanoi soon, and will need some advice on accomodation in Hanoi. Anyone out there stayed in Hanoi Capital Hotel? What is the hotel like and how is the location. Is it near to the lake? If not what is the best hotel for a lake view or which part of Hanoi is the best place to stay?

Hello there!

I have about 5 hours waiting time in Hanoi Airport. Instead of staying in the airport, I would like to have your recommendations for any nice cafes/restuarants not too far from the airport that I can visit.

Many thanks in advance!

Hanoi VT Meeting in Hanoi?
Posted: Mon April 14, 2008 04:32 AM UTC
I've been on this forum for 3 years and have never put together a meeting and actually have never met another Vt'er. So this is my chance! My boyfriend and I will be there tomorrow and will be staying for a week+(not sure) in the city. Would anyone like to hang out, perhaps go for a walk or grab some food or drinks? Let me know! Thanks, Zan

Hanoi days to spend in hanoi?
Posted: Mon April 14, 2008 03:46 AM UTC
Hi VT,

please help...

My friend & I plan are planning to be in Hanoi (for 5 days) in mid May. We have visited HCM last year.
Questions:
- we searched for as much info as possible on VT, however, seems that there are many interesting spots are located outside Hanoi...
- any advice on must-see-places in Hanoi and near-by Hanoi?

thanks a lot for any info you can provide!

Hi,

I'm planning to go Hanoi in the last week of August. Can any of you please advise about the weather in Hanoi during this period? I had read in some websites that this is the monsoon period. As such, will it be a bad idea going there in August? Planning to go Halong Bay during the trip.

Hanoi Which hotel is good? and please recommend nice restaurants
Posted: Fri March 28, 2008 01:28 PM UTC
I'm hesitate about Prince Hanoi2 hotel which is on 41 Bat Su street or Hanoi Paradise hotel which is on 53 Hang Chieu street . Prince Hanoi 2 is near Hoan Kiem Lake, but Paradise is near Dong Xuan market.
For Hanoi Elegance 2 is must be in noisy area right? Because they use sound proof windows.
I would like to know good place for dinning--french, vietnam, japanese, korea.

Thanks

Hanoi halong bay cruises
Posted: Thu March 6, 2008 03:04 AM UTC
The general consensus seems to be that Handspan is the company to use for a Halong Bay tour. If anyone has anything to add to that would be great. My question relates to price. The prices I see people saying on sites like this that they paid is alot cheaper than the prices quoted on Handspans website. So where did you book for these prices? Also whats the weather like in May. Any info appreciated. Thanks

Hanoi Tell me about Hanoi
Posted: Sat February 23, 2008 11:50 AM UTC
I'll be moving to Hanoi at the beginning of July this year and I would very much appreciate if anyone can give me some advise or their own experience of Hanoi. I bought a travel guide but I still prefer to hear from those whose been there and done that things. Where is the best place to live? What's transportation is like overthere? Are the people as friendly as they say? Please share your thoughts and wish me luck for another new life in Hanoi.

Hanoi Hostel

Hello!
I wonder which hostel or cheap hotel in Hanoi would you recommend? This would be my first time to Vietnam and I do not really know what to expect, so your opinions would be very welcome
- as well as all other tips on how to spend three days in Hanoi (and area) the best (I can wake up very early, it's not a problem! I enjoy more seeing how people live then visiting museums...

(BTW: if any locals want to meet and chat - please write. I am going to be there between 6 and 9 March)

Happy travels to all,
