Mauritius cape garden hotel, mauritius (near Pereybere, on Bain Boeuf road)
Posted: Fri November 6, 2009 04:48 PM UTC
Has anyone ever stayed at the Cape Garden hotel about 5 mins from Pereybere in Mauritius? Or its affilliate New Paradizo residence in Pereybere? If so, what were your impressions? We are not looking for a 4-5 star hotel, more like a 3 star, villa, or self-catering. Merci!

Mauritius Where to stay in Mauritius?
Posted: Tue January 6, 2009 01:14 PM UTC
I want to go to Mauritius on the 23rd Dec 2009 - 3 Jan 2010.
I am looking for a house that sleeps 10 people/5 couples.
I would prefer a place that is self-catering, and has a pool.
Preferably near the sea as well.

Is there any part of Mauritius that would be great for this type of accommodation? What is the weather like at that time of the year?

Mauritius MAURITIUS IN MAY
Posted: Sat November 15, 2008 02:02 PM UTC
My partner and I are visiting Mauritius for the first time next May 2009. Were staying at the Le Cannonier Hotel for 2 wks AI.

Can anyone tell me what to expect from the weather in May? I'm expecting some rain but was just wondering how hot it may be in May as I know it is the start of the winter season. I'm presuming it will be warm enough to swim in the sea?

Also has anyone stayed at the Le Cannonier hotel and can tell me there thoughts on the hotel.

Thanks

Mauritius Windsurfing
Posted: Tue September 30, 2008 09:35 PM UTC
Hi,

Apart from Le Morne, can anyone advise on best beaches for windsurfing? Or beaches to avoid, perhaps? The East coast looks beautiful (Belle Mare), but not sure if we can hire windsurfing equipment there?

Thanks very much for your suggestions!

Mauritius A week in mauritius: late July
Posted: Thu July 10, 2008 03:08 PM UTC
Hi I am travelling to mauritius for a week starting July 20th.
Anyone can guide me on these things...

1. Hows the weather likely to be around Trou Aux Biches .. I am staying at Coralia Mont Choisy..
2. My package includes a trip to Ile Aux Cerfs.. should I plan my scuba diving for this place or do it separately and any idea of how much does it cost for a basic trip along with equipment.. It would be my first scuba dive and so would be the case for my wife.. Is it cheaper to do it at some other place as I guess Ile Aux Cerfs would be touristy?
3. Is Trou Aux Biches a good place for snorkelling/kayaking?
4. Besides, chamarel, the garden and the lake anything else(I am not too religious so temples and churches are not my kinda place) to see in terms of natural marvels??
5. What would be a good place to eat lunch-- around troux aux biches.. ?not lukg at fancy restaurants but good food.. say sm veggies, sm chicken, sm seafood.. any special mauritian food.. a must try.. how about desserts?
6. What is the most hunted for souveneirs at mauritius?

Vickss

Mauritius Taxi driver hire and excursions
Posted: Tue April 15, 2008 11:37 AM UTC
Hi there,

My husband and I are thinking of staying at the Heritage Golf and Spa Resort in Bel Ombre next year and I was wondering if anyone knows of any reliable taxi drivers that we could hire for excursions around the island.

I would prefer to do half day trips rather than full day ones if possible as I have a back problem and find full day trips hard going.

Is it possible to get to visit the Botanical Garden of Pamplemousses from here as a half day trip?

Could we also get to visit Ile Aux Cerfs for a couple of hours on another half day tour?

Would it be possible to visit Chamarel Falls and the Coloured Earth by taxi without having to walk too far?

Any information would be really helpful.

Thanks Di

Good day -

I am trying to find an on-beach villa / apartment for myself (one person only), 29 Mar - 5 April. I would prefer to stay in the NE of the island, and not pay more than 30-50 Euro / night. I've had trouble finding suitable places online and would appreciate any help the forum can provide.

Mauritius Self catering accommodation
Posted: Thu January 31, 2008 07:55 AM UTC
We are planning to go to Mauritius in September 2008 and are looking for self catering accommodation which is right on the beach (i.e. no traffic between buildings and beach front). We enjoy watersports (waterski, snorkel) - any recommendations? We have been offered accommodation at Villa Mont Choicy - can anybody recommend it? We have been to Mauritius before and stayed at La Pirogue which we enjoyed very much as all sports and meals are included. This time we would like to try self catering and hope that we will not be disapppointed!

Mauritius Taxi Fares and things to do in Mauritius
Posted: Tue January 1, 2008 01:01 AM UTC
Hi Guys

My partner and I are going to mauritius from 17th Feb-25th Feb 08 and are staying in the Grand Baie area.

I am a teacher and parents who from Mauritius have told me a taxi ride from the airport to the Grand Baie area should not cost any more than 1500 rupees, and this is an overcharged price(they pay anything less than this).

I wanted to know from experience what you guys think about this? is this correct? I understand that the local taxt drivers need to make a living but i dont want to be ripped off just because im a foreigner!

Also, my partner wants to do some shopping whilst we are there and he would like to know where the cheap factory outlets are - i also know that topshop clothes are made in Mauritius and would love to know where the factory is!

Any tips on eating out in the Grand Baie area too? or where to visit whilst we are there? Also how much spending money should we attempt to take? we dont have a disposable income so will be on a budget!

Sorry for the long posts guys
thanks in advance! x

Mauritius Honeymoon mid September...
Posted: Sun December 30, 2007 09:03 PM UTC
Hi,

Myself and my partner are both organising a week away for eachother for our honeymoon, and I have chosen Mauritius for my half!

Please can someone let me know what the weather is like in September, as I want to avoid any raining seasons. Also, which side of the island do you recommend? I have fallen for the Beau Rivage, is this resort as the pictures promise; or will I be wasting my money? If anyone has any other recommendations on gorgeous hotels/resorts I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Lenna

Howdy

I have been married for 10 months already and finally saved enough to go on honeymoon and after comparing different rates and destinations I settled for 'Le Priskil' in Mauritius. Please if anybody has been there I need to know if I’m making the right choice because after much research I ended up with completely contradicting conclusions.

Thanx a mill 4 reply's
