Bremen to Hamburg Posted: Tue July 8, 2008 01:21 PM UTC
How long it takes by train from Bremen to Hamburg?Anyone remembers the price of ticket? We will go to Bremen for three days in the begining of December(so not in hurry yet!),and someone suggested us to visit Hamburg same time.I´m not sure yet, should we do it or not..And is there more Christmas-markets in Hamburg than in Bremen?I believe, that we wouln´t stay for night,if we would go.Our visit is so short, that I´m not sure is it vice to visit both,or should we stay in Bremen..We haven´t been in either of them.
If we go to Hamburg, are the market-places far from trainstation?

Arriving on 27th June for 3 nights -hotels, nightlife any suggestions are welcomed! Posted: Tue May 13, 2008 04:05 PM UTC
Hi everyone..
Arriving on 27th June from Scotland-celebrate my friends upcoming wedding.
Found a lot of the hotels expensive -found a website for bed and breakfasts-anyone know about the site: www.bed-and-breakfast.de
They recommended a place in the Aldstadt area- Stephaniviertel and one a little further out in the Bremen Neustadt: both areas nice-what would u say?
Any help or advice for things to do and also re nightlife would be welcomed-cheers

Richard-Taylor-Strasse, Farge. Which Richard Taylor? Posted: Fri April 25, 2008 08:46 PM UTC
Just back from a fantastic five days in Bremen.
One particular 'highlight' was taking the train out to Farge, and the bus to Rekum - and then walking round the exterior of the Valentin U-boat Bunker. The man from the Bundeswehr would not let me through the gate to look inside!! A secondary reason for going to Farge was to take a photo of a street sign. I had noticed Richard-Taylor-Strasse on Google-Map and now have photos of it. I have a friend in England called Richard Taylor, who I hope will be slightly amused to see my photos. BUT...WHO IS THE 'OTHER' RICHARD TAYLOR AFTER WHOM A STREET IN FARGE IS NAMED? Is it the Harvard Professor of Mathematics who solved Fermat's Theorem? And why a street in Farge? Does anyone out there have the answers? (The girls in the Bremen Tourist Office didn't know - In fact they were slightly baffled by the question!)

Köln oder Bremen? Posted: Tue February 26, 2008 01:32 PM UTC
Danke!

Best Value Rail Ticket, Beer, Food, etc. Posted: Tue February 26, 2008 12:29 AM UTC
I will be staying in Bremen from 17th to 22nd April.
I have started doing my research.
I now realise there is no chance of seeing Werder play, due to the German Cup Final having been arranged for the 19th April and all Bundesliga games cancelled. I now realise also that it was tricky getting hotel room over the weekend, because Bremen is hosting its 'jazzahead' festival.
I'm sure I'll find plenty to do in Bremen and Bremerhaven. But if I did fancy a day's excursion to Hamburg, can someone confirm that the cheapest ticket for a single-traveller to buy would be 'Das Niedersachsen-Ticket Single'? My German is not that bad (honest!) - but the relevant DB web page is only available in German and is pretty complex.
Any other tips on Bremen would be much appreciated. I enjoy my beer. Any recommendations, other than Becks? And local food specialities?
Finally, as a supporter of a 'smaller' Scottish team (Motherwell - the club that once sold Paul Lambert to Borussia Dortmund) may I just say 'Good Luck' to Werder in the next round of the EUFA Cup against Rangers.

He there,
I am planning to visit Bremen in the weekend of the 25th to the 27th of January. I was wondering if somebody could advise me a little romantic hotel in the centre of Bremen. I also would like to know if there is some kind of wellness park nearby the city. I know I'm a little late with posting, but I hope somebody could give me a some good tips.
Hope to hear from you.

Planning trip to Bremen Posted: Tue January 9, 2007 06:48 PM UTC
We are making our first family trip to Germany in March, and plan to spend two or three days in Bremen, because our 11-year old daughter did a paper on it for her German class. She is very excited about visiting Bremen, but I am not sure that we know of enough intereting things to do in order to make our visit as fun as possible. Any suggestions? We will be coming by train from Berlin and staying at a centrally located hotel.

Advice on online shopping Posted: Tue October 17, 2006 11:04 PM UTC
Hi,
my daughter Katie is spending the year in Bremen at the university. I don't speak or read German. I just shipped some clothing and other items to her. I about had a heart attack from the shipping costs. I would like to purchase goods online for her. I think I could save a small fortune if I could find an online website in English that is located in Germany. I have tried to use translators and they aren't good enough for shopping. I need to purchase a microwave and have it shipped to her. She uses a bicycle and public transportation. Does anyone know of a good online site for clothing and household goods? Location in Bremen would be best, however; anywhere in Germany would be fine.

HELP - Cheap hotel in Bremen? Posted: Thu September 15, 2005 09:02 PM UTC
Hi Guys,
I need a cheap place to stay in for 3 nights in the beginning of December.
I want it to be close enough to the main station to walk or at least with a direct train connection to the main station.
Any ideas? Can anyone recommend something from their own experience?
I'd also prefer something that is not a hostel with dorms only, because i don't want to share a room with other people.
But i don't mind if it has shared showerc etc.
Thanx a lot in advance.
