I'm planning my trip to Vietnam - I'll be there in December for around 4 weeks and will be travelling from Chau Doc to HCMC and north to Hanoi.
I can't make up my mind about whether to visit Dalat as it seems a bit kitsch.
I though a good compromise might be to travel up Highway 20 from HCMC so I can pass the Dambri Falls then continue on to Delat for the night. I've read its possible to cycle from Delat to Phan Rang-Thap Cham or Nha Trang and that the ride is through beautiful scenery. ReidOnTravel.com says there's a guided cycle tour for $70.
I feel that taking this route would allow me to see a bit of the central highlands without chewing up too much time.
My questions are:
1. Has anyone cycled from Delat to the coast?
2. Is it feasible and How long will it take?
3. Can it be done independently as the guided tour option seems expensive and if so how much would bile hire be?
Hi!
I want to go from Da Lat to Nha Trang. From what I gather from my internet research, there seems to be only open tour buses that leave around 0700 to 0800 in the mornings, depending on the agency and then arrive in the afternoon at Nha Trang.
Does anyone know if there are any open tour buses available that are overnight? Because I don't want to spend too much time travelling in the day.
There are so many nice falls that i wanna visit all! but i only have 1.5days and i wanna visit other DaLat Attractions too.
1. Prenns Falls (am excited of the chance to walk through the 'water curtain')
2. Datanla Falls (Luge Ride)
3. Dambri Falls (one of the highest)
4. Pongour Falls (100m semi circle wide, layered falls)
5. Tiger Falls (some say this is the most impressive)
can anyone help me to comment on each of the falls? rank them if you wish. how much time would i need to spend to get to each falls and time recommended to spend there?
if i got my way, over my friends, i would go for 4 if not 5 of those. haha. by the way, i will be travelling from Saigon to Dalat.
My partner an I are visiting Da Lat in about 4 weeks and we're staying only one or two nights.
My partner wants to visit a national park and hopefully see some elephants, now is there any national parks which we can get to easily?
One of my options for escaping Canberra winter next year is a possible two month stay in Da Lat, which I visited briefly a few years ago. Is there a local real estate agent interested in arranging short term rentals of small apartments/houses? Cheers.
Patrick
Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels? What can you tell me about them?
Also, what is there to do in DaLat? I wanted to visit a strawberry or fruit farm, even a rice paddy. Is this possible?
Thanks.
If you had the choice to go to Mai Chau or to Dalat which area would you choose?
We have limited time in Vietnam and would like to do an interesting excursion out of the cities. We will be going to Halong Bay and Hue and Hoi An in addition to Hanoi and Ho Chi Min City.
From what I read, it sounds like Da lat is a cool place but then again I wonder if it is too cold for comfort. I would appreciate it if you could give me some advice on the expected climate and what nice hotel would you recommend. Thank you.
I am going to be in Dalat for my wedding anniversary. We would like a really special meal. We are staying at the Sofitel Dalat Palace but we both have a preference to not eat in the hotels and would rather go out and eat somewhere local. We want good, local food please. Your suggestions are awaited.
