Nairobi flights to the UK
Posted: Thu March 15, 2007 07:19 PM UTC
Does anyone know if it is possible to book a flight from Nairobi to London and pay for it in the UK?

I know that this was not possible 15 years ago, but with the Internet etc. I am hoping that this has changed.

Any suggestions or advice would be very welcome indeed.

Thanks, Graham.

Nairobi Booking with tour operators in Nairobi
Posted: Tue March 13, 2007 08:39 PM UTC
Hi All,

Looking for a reputable tour operator to book a Kenya Safari either a camping style or lodge style for 7 or 8 days? Price would be budget to mid-range. Any suggestions?

I found one company called Amicabre Travel Services Ltd. They have two locations one in Nairobi and the one at the Nairobi airport. Has anyone used them or booked with them? How are their tours? Has anyone booked their tour on the day they arrived into Nairobi Kenya?

Thanks

Nairobi Apartments in Nairobi
Posted: Tue January 2, 2007 07:09 PM UTC
Hi
Me and my Kenyan wife are going to Kenya in February 2007. We wish to rent an apartment in Nairobi for that month. My wifes uncle found a place via Bids apartments for about 60000 KSH. Is that the best and cheapest? Does anyone know about better places to rent an apartment? Perhaps guestrooms are available somehow in Nairobi??
Thanks for your help.

Nairobi Flight from Jo'burg to Nairobi
Posted: Sun October 22, 2006 01:10 PM UTC
Hi there,

We're going on a jeep tour from Nairobi down to Victoria Falls.

We fly home from Jo'burg and are looking for ideas (i.e. a cheap flight!) of how to firstly get from Jo'burg to Nairobi and then get back to Jo'burg from Victoria Falls.
We're on a budget so keen to avoid the International airlines if possible.

Very excited.

Many thanks in advance,
Rick

Nairobi Hotel Heron in Nairobi? Cost of car & driver for a day?
Posted: Fri May 5, 2006 09:00 PM UTC
My wife and I are visiting Nairobi May 12 - 14. A travel agent recommendeds the Hotel Heron as reasonably priced (US$70/night), safe, clean, etc. Can anyone tell us more? Any suggestions for good/safe/clean hotel at $70 - $125 per night. I have already tried the Panafric and Fairview. Both are fully booked.

Anyone have recent price info for a car & driver for a full day and evening?

Thanks, Tuck

Nairobi Postcards of Nairobi?
Posted: Wed March 1, 2006 11:44 PM UTC
Hello fellow travellers! A couple of summers I ago I came to Nairobi en route to a Kiliminjaro climb and loved both, but left without bringing any postcards of either with me. Big regret! I would be thrilled to find some suitable for framing in my office, and wondered if anyone could recommend where I could find them. I've scoured the interenet for them, but with no success! I remember one in particular of Nairobi said something like "Love <Heart> from Nairobi" or "I love <heart> Nairobi" It was great!
Thank you!!

Nairobi Shops open on Sundays?
Posted: Wed January 25, 2006 09:25 AM UTC
Hiya,

Can anyone tell me whether shops in Nairobi are open on Sundays? I'll arrive late on Saturday evening, and have to leave first thing on Monday morning, and would like to buy some presents on Sunday, if possible.

In particular I'd be looking for baby stuff, as I've just found out that one of my friends is going to have a baby shortly before I arrive. The baby clothes that you get over here would probably be way too warm for Africa, and I'm assuming that I'd get more suitable things in Nairobi.

Any ideas where I could go for that?

Thank you!

Nairobi A day in Nairobi
Posted: Tue January 17, 2006 09:53 PM UTC
I've got one day to spend in Nairobi and there are several things that I want to see (Probably in this order):

The Giraffe Center
Karen Blixen Museum
Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
Orphanage at Nairobi National Park
Bomas of Kenya

Now I don't think getting a taxi out to that area will be difficult. But once I'm there are taxi's available so I can get from place to place?

Or would it be easier to rent a taxi for a day - if so how much does that cost and how do I request that?

Any good Restaurant recommendations for the local African Cusine that doesn't focus only on meat like Carnivore?

Thank You!!!!
