I'm coming to Hurghada in august this year, and Im interested to visit Petra in Jordan. So, what I wanted to know is there a ferry from Hurghada to Sharm el Sheikh, and what is the price? Then, from Sharm el sheikh i was thinking to take a bus to Aqaba or somewhere near, so if you know some web adress where i can get timetable an prices, please let me know. Then from Aqaba, i guess i could catch a taxi or also a bus to Petra. I would like to know how much money do I need for transportation? Any information about this would be appreciated a lot!!! or if you have some better idea how to get from Hurghada to Petra post it please!

Im looking to go to Egypt in mid November but have been to Sharm twice already. I visited in September before and was wondering how Hurghada would compare and what it would be like in November. Would the weather be good? Would there be many people there? Would there be things to do? It will be me and my mate heading over and probably go all inclusive but would no doubt venture out if the nightlife is okay. Also, how does the snorkeling compare??

Can you tell me which hotel is better, have better food and beach?

Where abouts in Hurghada is the ministry of sound beach club? And how far from Hurghada is Pacha nightclub in Sharm? Also how much would a taxi cost from Hurghada to the pacha nightclub?

i am thinking of trying hurghada instead of sharm this year ! can anyone tell me what the reef are like for snorkelling?
especially around the Three corners ocean view hotel (el gouna i think) and if any of you have been to the hotel what was it like ??

Im going to Hurghada Egypt on 15th September this year, for 2 weeks. However, I don't want to be disappointed with the temperature. I would like it if it was hot!? What sort of temperatures should i expect for this time of year?

Im heading to Hurghada Egypt in September 2009, with my boyfriend. We wasn't sure whether this place was going to be too quiet? But having read the reviews, it seems not!? Papas Beach Bar interests me! Especially the Hed Kandi and Ministry of Sound nights. Is the club easy to find? And will it still be open in September? Also can I acsess a timetable of the nights which are on there? Any information welcome!

Is it best to book a day tour after you arrive at your hotel or try to before by doing it online? Can you see enough on a day trip? How close are the Valley of the Kings and Luxor?
Any recommendation on tour guides (smaller groups or even private Guides)If you have any contact information please send it to me.
Also any suggestions on Glass Bottom boats, Snorkeling and other "to do's while there/ We will have about 8 days.

I plan to dive several days while in Hurghada and am looking for a good dive shop-boat that does not have 15-20 + people on it. I would like a smaller group 5-10 people. And what is the average price for a 2 tanki dive. Are there a lot of scuba venders? Is it best to book ahead of time or after you get there? Any suggestions or comments would be GREAT

I am flying with my friend to Hurghada, we want to spend there a couple of days
and then rent a car and drive to Luxor. Does anyone know whether it is possible for a private car to join the convoy Hurghada-Luxor? If so, can you just simply join it or do you need a special permission? And where can we find out about the departure times of the convoy?

I know that there are no more restrictions to travel privately during daytime between Hurghada and Luxor (6 a.m. - 6 p.m.), but is it really safe to travel outside of the convoy during the day? I mean no stops by local criminals
etc?

Our group of 5 is currently planning on arriving in Hurghada early on 4 April and leave late afternoon/evening on April 6 for Luxor.

I hear that the Luxor convoys leave Hurghada at 6am and 12pm. We want to leave a little bit later than this so we arrive in Luxor in the evening. What are our options? Can we taxi it? We want an option then will provide a comfortable journey so preferably no cramming onto a local bus!

Also as we are travelling independently where would people recommend we stay so. We are hoping that the two nights accommodation will cost in the range of £20GBP - £40 per night per person though this is flexible. Please recommend where we could stay. One place recommended by Tripadvisor.com is Sunrise Holidays Resort. If anyone has any comments/alternative suggestions they will be welcome.

I'm aware of the activities such as quad biking, horse riding, snorkeling, beach relaxing and we would like to pack all of this into our 2 days. Please make any recommendations about who we should contact to arrange these.

Does anyone knows an good address for a transfer.

I found private Convey VIATOR but they are quite expensive if you take the last option back to Hurghada. approx 300 EUR for 2 persons.

I am looking for transport on the 4th late afternoon and back to other day also late afternoon.

I just learned that there is no longer a convoy between Hurghada - Luxor - Hurghada.
However that only applies between 6 am and 6 pm. Does this mean you have to be at the destination before 6 pm? leaving Hurghada approx 12 PM. This means that if you just want to go for a day to Luxor you have to leave again around 12 pm the other day?

Is there any one how knows the exact rules.

My Wife & I are thinking of going to El Gouna at the beginning of March for 10/14 day stay. We are not sure if we should go Al Inclusive, Half Board or B&B.
If we go B&B can anyone give us an idea of the cost of an evening meal in the restaurants. What is the cost of a bottle of wine, we have heard it is better to buy by the glass.

Does anyone know which is the best hotel.

We have heard that some of the hotels participate in a "Dine around Scheme". Does anyone know anything about this and how it works. Are drinks included.

I am heading down to Hurghada and Cairo during the last week of January. What kind of weather should I expect. I am wondering if I need to pack the kind of clothes we wear here for winter or lighter. I was hoping to enjoy the beach a bit in Hurghada but I hear it is too cold to swim...

I have read in a few places now that the temperature can reach 40 degrees c in August. Does that occur often? If so would it be too hot to take an 8 year old child? We have seen a really good deal for the end of August 2009 for 2 weeks and our only major concern is the heat. In some places it also says that the sea breeze reduces the heat factor. We would obviously be sensible and use sun cream, sit in shade, drink lots of water etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We will be in Hurghada for two weeks. My wife doesn't dive but will snorkel. I will be diving at least 5 days 10 dives. What dive shops? How big of groups do some take? I hate being with 20-30 people and prefer a good small group 3-10 people max.

Any other suggestions of what we should do and see while we are there? Also going home we have a 10 hour layover in Cairo from 2 AM until Noon. Is there time to go see the Pyramids of Giza? And at 2 AM is there a safe way to travel there and what time do they open? Costs? Return time? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Anything other recommendations of sights to see and how to get there or should we just try to sleep? (boring)

We will be flying into Hurghada for two weeks from Johannesburg (Kruger Park). We are from the U.S. and want to understand some of the local customs, exchange rate and where to exchange money. I've ben reading many postings here and think we need to get VISA's at the airport or ahead of time? We are Port Safaga Lillyland Beach Club and any comments about it and the surrounding area would be great. Such as Public Transportation to Hurghada. I plan to Scuba 4-5 days and snorkel with the wife any suggestions as to good spots to snorkel? And any recommendations on dive shops and Scuba tours? I really prefer to go out diving with 6-8 people versus 20-30 on a boat. So any suggestions?

We will be staying two weeks (April)and I need to do some more research on the Internet about other sites to see while we are in Egypt. We love ancient ruins and would like to see the Pyramids and Sphinx, Luxor etc. Is it safe to rent a car? Most are saying to take a bus or plane. Any help about how far away these sites are and if we can do a few in a day trip or plan to spend a night before returning to Safaga.
